Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said that the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will focus on concrete, visible projects aimed at enhancing the lives of citizens, rather than relying on hollow political promises.
Speaking with journalists after inspecting significant road projects in key satellite towns, including the long-anticipated Apo-Karshi Road and the 14-kilometre Bwari-Kubwa Road, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the administration’s ability to transform long-standing infrastructure issues into tangible results.
“Campaigning is not merely about promises; it is about the actions taken that genuinely affect the lives of the populace,” Wike said.
He further stated, “The administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made significant contributions to the residents of the FCT. Our team can return home with the assurance that the commitments made have been honoured.”
The Minister also emphasised the advancements made on the 14-kilometre Bwari-Kubwa Road, a project that he noted residents had previously thought would never come to fruition. He mentioned that the project is anticipated to be handed over to the FCT Administration by December.
He remarked, “I have stated that this project will be delivered to us by December. It is now the responsibility of the people here to also express their gratitude to Mr. President for not only making promises but also for fulfilling those promises. Therefore, I am extremely pleased.”
Reflecting on his three-year anniversary in office, the Minister expressed gratitude to Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging that his tenure has faced challenges but expressing satisfaction that his team has worked diligently to address them.
He cited his previous experience as a local government chairman, a former Minister of State and a former Governor of Rivers State as proof of his dedication to public service.
