Social media activist VeryDarkMan has accused singer Zlatan Ibile of exploiting their public feud to promote his music, alleging that the musician added a verse to an already recorded song to attract attention.

VDM claimed that Zlatan allowed the disagreement to get to him after some of his critics began supporting the singer, suggesting that the controversy was being used to generate publicity for the track.

In a video posted online, VDM alleged that the song had already been recorded before Zlatan edited it to include the controversial verse.

“As a matter of fact, them don do that song before, they edited it back to put that verse so that the thing go blow, which I don’t mind,” he said.

He further claimed that some of his critics encouraged Zlatan to take on the dispute, adding that Davido later joined the situation.

VDM also dismissed Zlatan’s fan base, claiming that the singer had supporters but did not have a strong following that made him take the controversy seriously.

Despite the criticism, he acknowledged Zlatan’s musical talent and said he enjoyed his songs.

“Zlatan is a great artist, I love his songs,” he said.

However, VDM maintained that the Mohbad controversy remained one of the reasons he had a problem with the singer.

“That same Mohbad case make me no like Zlatan,” he added.

Social media activist, VeryDarkMan has claimed that singer Zlatan Ibile sent three celebrities to beg him over their ongoing dispute, alleging that the musician’s parents also pleaded with one of the intermediaries to intervene.

VDM described Zlatan as a “clown” and a “weaker vessel,” claiming the singer was struggling with the backlash from their disagreement.

In a video posted online, VDM alleged that Zlatan’s parents joined a phone call with one of the celebrities to plead on their son’s behalf, claiming the singer was not eating and had become unwell because of the controversy.

“As a matter of fact, his parents were on a call with one of them to beg me that their son no fit chop, that their son is not feeling well, that this whole thing is messing him up,” he said.

He challenged Zlatan to deny the allegation, threatening to reveal the identities of the celebrities he claimed were sent to him.

“Let him say it’s a lie, make I drop the names of the celebrities,” VDM added.

The activist also linked his disagreement with Zlatan to the late singer Mohbad’s case, alleging that the musician failed to publicly speak in support of the demand for justice because his career was at stake.

VDM insisted that he was not seeking attention through the dispute, saying he was only speaking what he believed to be the truth.

“I don’t hurt people, I just speak the truth,” he said.

Chiamaka, the daughter of the late Nollywood legend, Diewait Ikpechukwu, has warned Actor Guild of Nigeria, AGN, to take down her father’s death post on its platform.

Reacting to a mourning post by the guild, Chiamaka said, “Please take down the post. Let me be the one to announce my papa’s death.”

Questioning why the movie industry waited until members’ deaths to show love, she warned that nobody should contact her now that her father is dead.

“Please, Actors’ Guild, I don’t want you guys posting my daddy. Make nobody post my papa, please. This is a very hard video for me to make. Nobody should call me; nobody should post my daddy’s poster.

“I’m still wearing my daddy’s shirt. Take that post down, please. Let me be the one to announce my papa’s death. I don’t want you guys to do that for me.”

Veteran Nollywood actor Diewait Ikpechukwu has died at the age of 71.

The actor, who was also a former footballer, reportedly passed away on Thursday following a prolonged illness.

A family source confirmed his death, although details surrounding the circumstances remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Ikpechukwu’s death represents another loss to the Nigerian movie industry, where he was known for his contributions as an actor.

Afrobeats singer Magixx has said it is unlikely for a Nigerian artiste to make a fortune in music without having a hit song with international appeal.

Speaking in an episode of the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, Magixx explained that to remain financially stable, artistes need to drop hits consistently after their first hit song.

He revealed that it took him 2-3 months for him to start earning from music even after Don Jazzy signed him to Mavin Records.

The singer stated that even performance fees are determined by the number of hit songs an artiste has.

“Even when you get signed to a big record label as an artist, you first have to drop a song with international appeal before you start making serious money. It took 2–3 months after Don Jazzy signed me before I started earning from music.

“Before the money started coming, I was struggling with bills and family responsibilities. The worst part is that if I ask people for financial assistance, they would say I am signed to a big label, and money shouldn’t be my problem.

“It was difficult because I had to maintain the lifestyle of a superstar with expensive designer clothes. But eventually, the money started coming. One hit song can earn you N500,000–N700,000 per show, while another hit can take your fee to N1.5 million,” Magixx stated.

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has threatened legal action against individuals and media platforms allegedly spreading false and malicious stories about her.

The actress, through her legal representatives, issued a cease-and-desist notice dated November 5, warning bloggers, social media users, content creators and influencers against publishing or circulating unverified claims about her.

The notice, signed by her lawyer, Tope Salami, described the publications as “untrue, misleading, unsubstantiated, and capable of damaging her professional personality, image, personal integrity, and general goodwill.”

Abraham shared the legal notice on her X account on Thursday, calling on members of the public to read it carefully.

Her lawyers urged those involved to immediately stop publishing, reposting, endorsing or circulating alleged defamatory statements about the actress across social media platforms and other communication channels.

They also demanded the removal of existing posts, videos, comments and other materials containing statements considered false or defamatory.

The legal representatives further cautioned against creating or promoting fabricated allegations, malicious insinuations and content intended to ridicule, harass or damage the actress’s reputation and business interests.

The notice warned that individuals who continued to circulate or amplify such claims after receiving the warning could face legal proceedings.

It stated that relevant publications, social media posts, comments, videos and other digital materials could be preserved as evidence for possible legal action.

The lawyer added that freedom of expression did not give anyone the right to spread falsehoods or unlawfully damage another person’s reputation.

The legal action comes amid renewed online discussions surrounding Abraham and fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele.

In October 2026, an alleged private audio conversation involving Abraham and a TikTok user identified as Bisgold circulated online, sparking reactions over comments reportedly made about Akindele.

However, the authenticity and full context of the recording were not independently established.

Abraham’s lawyers urged members of the public to exercise restraint, verify information before publication and ensure that future commentary about the actress is factual and supported by verifiable evidence.

Toyin Abraham threatens legal action over fake, malicious reports

Davido’s logistics manager, Isreal DMW, has dismissed claims that the singer was involved in Naira Marley’s ordeal over late singer Mohbad’s death or any alleged plot to get social media activist VeryDarkMan arrested.

Isreal made the clarification in a statement addressed to Nigerians via his handle, insisting that Davido was not involved in the controversies surrounding Naira Marley during the period.

He said those who were members of the WhatsApp group allegedly linked to the controversy joined without Davido’s knowledge or approval.

“Those who were in that WhatsApp group, got there without his instructions or approval,” he said.

Isreal also questioned why Davido would engage in a dispute with music producer Samklef, or request Mohbad’s music catalogue or attempt to sign his former associate, Zinoleesky.

“Oga called for Mohbad’s catalogue or even made attempt to sign Zino? How na? Those who told VDM that, fully lied,” he stated.

He further disclosed that some people had pressured Davido at the time to unfollow Naira Marley on Instagram, but the singer refused.

“Serious pressure even came for Oga then to unfollow Naira on Instagram, and he said it categorically, No, that he wants the police to do their job, that he doesn’t want to believe on any hearsay,” Isreal said.

Maintaining that Davido and Naira Marley were on good terms, he added that both singers had even collaborated on a hit song.

“Naira and Oga are cool. They even made a hit song,” he said.

Addressing the alleged incident at Naira Marley’s residence, Isreal explained that the disagreement involved Tolu, a former member of Davido’s 30BG crew, and one of Naira Marley’s associates.

“On the issue that happened in Naira’s house, it was our then Tolu 30BG who had issues with one of Naira’s boys. Nobody was beaten or attacked,” he added.

Nigerian singer Crayon has accused Mavin Records of changing his life for the worse, claiming he lost his former personality after joining the record label, while announcing that he has parted ways with longtime friend Rema.

Crayon made the allegations in a series of posts on X, where he expressed frustration over his experience with the label and people he claimed had repeatedly hurt him.

“What really happened to the old Crayon! Mavin killed him!!! They killed the loving and playful Crayon!” he wrote.

The singer said he joined Mavin as an innocent young man from Ojo, with the hope of becoming one of the greatest artistes, but alleged that he was made to compromise himself before achieving fame.

“Na idiot wey make I sell my before I blow!” he added.

Crayon also announced the end of his friendship with Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, saying he had endured enough hurt and had decided to leave the matter to God.

“Me and Rema are no longer friends! Una don too hurt me! Una dey hurt me to the last minute! I don leave am for God!!!!! I no go talk again!” he posted.

He further called on Rema to speak to his fans to stop attacking him, while hinting that he could reveal more about what he alleged Rema and Tega did to him.

Nigerian comedian, The Cute Abiola has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu over the country’s electricity situation, lamenting that even his solar power supply has gone off.

Nollywood actor and producer, Kunle Afod has finally spoken about his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, popularly known as Celeb Wife.

This is coming a few months after the news of the estranged couple’s marital crisis went viral on social media.

DAILY POST reports that the actor’s marriage crashed in February 2026 after Desola reportedly moved her things out of their marital home.

The news which has never been publicly addressed by any of the couple has now been confirmed by the actor.

Speaking in an interview with Kasnasty Sugar on YouTube, Kunle Afod revealed the cause of their separation.

When asked about the cause of their separation, the actor who spoke in parables, attributed it to jealousy and cheating allegations from both sides.

While noting that women can’t take what they dish out, he questioned the audacity of women who use sex toys but see it differently when their husband uses it.

The actor also explained that the nature of his job sometimes doesn’t allow him to have time for his home.

The interviewer asked: “What is the cause of the separation from your wife?”

Afod replied: “Separation from my wife? This job is heavy to the extent that we sometimes don’t have time for our home.

“Did you want to hear? To all the women here, my apologies please. I need to beg you guys first before I talk about my separation. Women believe that men cheat but no man can cheat with a tree or wood. Men cheat with women. It’s easier for women to be lesbian than men to be gay.

“So, if you have a wife who is too close to a female friend, the husband will also suspect her. You are in trouble because they cheat more in that level than having it with the opposite sex. It’s easy for a woman to convince her husband to buy her dildo, she will tell you that she doesn’t want to cheat on you. She would buy up to three dildos.

“Why is she not satisfied with just one dildo? That can also be referred to as adultery too. The same woman that has the confidence to use dildo won’t take it lightly when she caught her husband using sex toys.”
