Popular Nigerian juju musician Yekini Kolawole Ajao, popularly known as Y.K Ajao, is dead.

His death was made known in a statement posted on musician, Shina Peters’ Instagram page on Friday night.

“Still hard to believe, You weren’t just a friend, you were my brother. Prof Y.K Ajao, your sound, your spirit, your presence; unforgettable.

“Thank you for everything. I’Il carry the memories always.

“Rest well, my brother. Your legacy lives on, your music lives on, and you will never be forgotten,” the post read.

Yekini Ajao went professional in 1973 when he formed his own band, ‘Y.K. Ajao & His Professional Brothers Band’.

His music style began in the juju tradition, but he created a distinctive sub-style called ‘Juju Makossa’.

Social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan says Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord was returned to Kuje prison shortly after he was granted bail on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that Blord was granted bail after spending at least two weeks in Kuje prison over alleged impersonation of VDM.

Speaking on the matter, VDM in a video he posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday said the businessman was unable to fulfill his bail condition.

According to VDM, Blord would remain in the prison until he is able to submit his international passport as demanded by the court.

He said, “I’m very happy that BLord was granted bail but unfortunately for him, he had to be taken back to the Kuje correctional center until Monday because he could not perfect his bail condition.

“As you all know, one of the conditions that the judge gave was that Blord was going to tender his international passport, after all the efforts by my lawyer, his passport could not come from Anambra State on time so he had to be taken back to Kuje prison”.

Nollywood actress and producer, Laide Bakare has announced that she would soon be getting married for the third time.

In a recent interview with content creator, Akin Abolade, the movie star stated it would be the first time she would be getting married “officially” despite two previous failed marriages.

“I will soon be getting married officially for the first time ever,” she said.

The actress disclosed that preparations are already underway for her wedding.

She, however, did not disclose the date of the wedding or the identity of her husband-to-be.

Laide Bakare has been married twice. Her first marriage was to US-based businessman Olumide Okufulure, with whom she shares a daughter, Simi. After their separation, she remarried Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo in 2012, and the union produced two sons.

However, she left her second marriage after Orilowo was reportedly declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2014 over alleged fraudulent activities.

In a previous interview on the Real Life With Aunty Ayo podcast, Laide Bakare said she is open to being married up to five times if prior unions don’t work.

Popular social media influencer, VeryDarkMan, has agreed to amicably settle the ongoing legal dispute between him and celebrity cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord.

This is coming after the intervention of veteran human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.

DAILY POST recalls that Blord was remanded in Kuje prison for 26 days on April 1 2026, following his social media fight with VeryDarkMan.

Reacting to the development, human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore faulted VeryDarkMan and his lawyer, Marshall Abubakar for using influence and expertise to remand Blord, vowing to secure his release.

In response, VeryDarkMan who threatened to send Sowore to prison, criticising his type of activism.

However, two weeks after his remand, the court granted Blord bail on self recognision.

Addressing the press after Blord’s bail, Marshall Abubakar who also doubles as Sowore’s lawyer, disclosed that VeryDarkMan has agreed to settle the matter amicably.

While appreciating Sowore for his intervention, Marshall, who noted that Blord is now like a brother and friend to them, said, “We have now resolved to work together and to get this matter resolved amicably. On the next adjourned date, hopefully we would’ve resolved the matter and report back to the court on the progress made so far.

“No much to say, the long awaited bail of our brother and friend, Blord, has been perfected. We can call him brother or friend now. But we do not want to dwell on what has happened in the past. Talking about what happened in the court today, we must commend our leader here, Mr Omoyele Sowore, for the role he played.

“We must also appreciate VeryDarkMan for conceding to see that this matter is resolved amicably today. He has assured the world and assured even the prosecution that he’s giving to settling this matter. The fact can not be denied that VeryDarkMan was offended as far as this matter is concerned, and the way and manner that our friend now, Blord went about this issue was most unfortunate. You do not offend a man in Africa and tell the man to do his worst. And as a man who feel offended, VeryDarkMan has the right to approach the police and the court system to take up a fight that has a criminal element.

“This matter is a criminal prosecution. But we don’t want to dwell on what that has happened or transpired in the past. We’re now giving to resolving this matter amicably. Both Blord and VeryDarkMan are respected youth in this country today. The future of this country lies in the hands of youths with so much interest and so much to give”, Marshall disclosed.

Blord, VeryDarkMan agree to settle legal dispute after Sowore’s intervention

Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has opened up about how becoming famous at a young age affected him, claiming that he was exploited.

DAILY POST recalls that Rema gained prominence after he got signed to Mavin Records and released his first EP in 2019 at the age of 19.

In the lyrics of his new song with French singer Sofiane Pamart titled ‘Moviestar,’ Rema revealed that he was drugged by ladies as a youngster.

The 25-year-old said fans do not understand his personal grief because they don’t know that he “got caught up so young.”

Rema further explained in the lyrics that it was hard for him to quit after he signed the record deal, stressing that the label wanted him to sing and entertain fans without considering his feelings.

Celebrity Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has been granted bail after spending weeks in Kuje prison over alleged impersonation of social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan.

Activist and former presidential candidate Omolere Sowore made this known in a terse statement on his official Facebook account on Friday.

According to him, Blord was bailed on his own recognizance after his arraignment in Federal High Court, Abuja.

He, however, said the court ordered Blord to deposit his international passport as part of his bail conditions.

“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” he wrote.

Recall that Blord was ordered to be remanded in prison on April 1, 2026.

VeryDarkMan: Court grants Blord bail

Veteran Nigerian singer Chinagorom Onuoha, popularly known as African China, has opened up about how making conscious music endangered his life and how he was able to protect himself.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Beer Parlor Talk podcast, the Mr President crooner explained that at a point, he learned martial arts and also engaged in voodoo because the police, OPC and Area Boys were after him because of his controversial songs.

“I am a black belter. During my time, you need to know how to fight to survive in the music industry. I was not just learning martial art but also engaged in voodoo to protect myself…

“My life was in danger because I was making conscious music. I was running from police, OPC and Area Boys. Informants also helped me in escaping from the constant threats. OPC alway tried to harras me even when I was performing but the audience always give me signals whenever they are coming. So, OPC thought I was using voodoo to disappear. I was always at alert,” he recalled.

Obasi Emmanuel, Judy Austin’s ex-husband, has countered actor Yul Edochie’s marriage advice.

DAILY POST reports that Yul had earlier advised men to stop tolerating disrespect in marriage, claiming that respect is a man’s birthright: “Your respect as a man is non-negotiable.”

Yul’s stance about marriage has sparked mixed reactions online.

Responding to Yul in a Facebook post on Thursday evening, Judy Austin’s ex-husband, Obasi, who has accused Yul of snatching her from him, said: “If your only option is to run to another woman when you feel disrespected, you will build three football teams, including the fans, in your lifetime in the name of marriage.”

While stating that a real man’s strength lies in his ability to manage a woman’s excesses, Obasi, in a direct post to counter Yul’s advice, wrote: “Keep shouting, ‘Your respect as a man is non-negotiable.’ If you can’t take or control a woman’s excesses, you are not yet a man; you’re a boy. So you have to be very careful,” he said.

Popular singer Omawumi has shared her opinion on the widespread claim that modern romantic relationships are transactional, arguing that it has always been so.

In a recent interview with Pulse, the ‘Bottom Belle’ crooner explained that love is transactional in nature, but admitted that it has become more demanding than before.

Omawumi stated that during her youth, impressing a woman doesn’t cost much but nowadays, it is expensive due to modernisation and inflation.

“Love has always been transactional. Women have always been demanding since the beginning of time. But during my youth, our transaction was different because you can impress your crush with just ice cream and popcorn. But now, it is iPhone,” she said.

The music star, however, said society sometimes amplifies the transactional nature of relationships by ignoring women’s reciprocation.

She added that most men who complain about the transactional nature of relationships put themselves in the position by dating women with higher tastes.

Media personality, Chude Jideonwo, has opened up about his secret battle with Tourette Syndrome.

DAILY POST reports that Tourette Syndrome is an incurable neurodevelopmental condition that
causes people to make sudden movements or sounds they can’t control.

Speaking about his battle with the disorder in an interview with BBC News Africa, Chude who disclosed that he was diagnosed in his 20s, explained that his doctor advised him to keep it secret to avoid being stigmatised in the society.

“When I was diagnosed, my doctor warned me not to talk about it in public that people are going to judge me. Especially in Africa. I began to consciously notice Tourette Syndrome in my late 20s. Is a neurological where it feels like your body misfires,” he said.
