Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has called out his senior colleague, Terry G for a celebrity boxing fight.

Portable challenged Terry G on Sunday during an interview on Channels Television’s Robbin Minds programme.

The interviewer asked: “Tell me the celebrity that would like to beat. Any celebrity that’s on your mind?”

Portable responded “Me, I want to fight Terry G.”

Interviewer: “Do you want to fight VDM?”

Portable insisted that he wants the singer as his next opponent, “Is Terry G that I want to fight. I won blow am. I want to resurrect his career. If Terry G fight meet one on one in boxing, I swear to God, he will rise again. People will remember him again.”

The development has left many fans surprised and curious.

DAILY POST reports that Portable who is not a stranger to celebrity boxing had in the last two years faced several celebrities including actor Charles Okocha, singer Speed Darlington, and Carter Efe in celebrity boxing matches.

While Terry G is one of Nigeria’s most famous street music legends who rose to fame with his hit songs ‘Free Madness’, Akpako, and Run Mad in the early 2000s.

Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, have been arrested in Miami, Florida, as United Kingdom authorities seek their extradition over fresh allegations of rape, sex trafficking and assault.

The United States Marshals Service confirmed the arrest of the brothers on Saturday but declined to disclose the specific charges, citing a sealed arrest warrant.

However, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service, CPS, announced that Andrew Tate is facing seven additional counts of rape, along with charges related to sex trafficking and possession of indecent images of a child.

Tristan Tate has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

According to Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Police, the brothers now face a combined total of 59 criminal charges.

The alleged offences are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017. The Tate brothers have consistently denied all allegations against them.

UK prosecutors said extradition proceedings will now begin to bring the dual British-American citizens back to Britain to face trial.

“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven,” Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS, said.

Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police have been investigating a number of offences in what it called a “complex investigation”.

As a result, 38 new charges were authorised against the brothers, meaning Andrew, 39, faces a total of 42 charges in the UK and Tristan, 37, faces 17.

In 2024, Bedfordshire Police obtained European arrest warrants for Andrew and Tristan Tate, seeking their return from Romania, where they have been living and are separately under criminal investigation.

In June, the brothers failed in their attempt to compel authorities to reveal the identities of their UK accusers after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) ruled that the names of the alleged victims would remain confidential until formal legal proceedings commenced.

TikTok influencer Tunmise has accused his former girlfriend, Ivana, of travelling to Calabar to reunite with her ex-boyfriend after he allegedly spent thousands of naira trying to save their relationship.

Tunmise disclosed this while sharing his own account of what he claimed led to the collapse of their relationship.

In the video, Tunmise responded after Ivana accused him of infidelity, verbal abuse and domestic violence, allegations he denied while insisting that he made several sacrifices to keep the relationship together.

“Ivana went to see her ex in Calabar, the same ex she painted the worst to me. I was trying to do better than her ex. Someone I was trying to do better than, that was the person you went back to,” he said.

According to him, despite the couple’s frequent online displays of affection, they had been dealing with serious issues behind the scenes.

He claimed he was financially supporting Ivana as well as several members of her family throughout their relationship.

Tunmise alleged that after the pair attempted to resolve their differences, Ivana suggested they spend time together at a hotel to work on their relationship.

He claimed he paid N150,000 per day for a hotel where they stayed for about three weeks.

He added that he regularly took her shopping and covered other expenses because he wanted to make her happy.

Explaining what he described as the turning point in the relationship, Tunmise alleged that Ivana later informed him she had been invited to an event in Calabar and that her flight had already been booked.

He claimed he personally dropped her at the airport before later discovering she allegedly travelled to meet her former boyfriend.

Tunmise further alleged that he became aware of the meeting after receiving messages, photographs and videos from a woman he identified as the former boyfriend’s current girlfriend.

Despite the development, he said he chose to forgive Ivana because her birthday was only weeks away.

“I forgive Ivana and left the whole thing,” he added.

Addressing claims that he insulted Ivana during their relationship, Tunmise admitted calling her offensive names but claimed it happened during repeated arguments over what he described as recurring infections both of them were treating.

He alleged that the situation became emotionally exhausting and eventually triggered heated exchanges between them.

“We treat infection, treat infection, infection no gree go. Out of pain I called her a prostitute,” he said.

Tunmise also disputed Ivana’s earlier claims that she was subjected to physical abuse during the relationship, alleging that she also assaulted him on several occasions.

To support his claims, he displayed screenshots which he said showed Ivana apologising, admitting she had a bad temper and asking him to reconcile with her.

The latest video comes after Ivana publicly admitted cheating during the relationship but alleged that she did so after enduring repeated infidelity and verbal abuse from Tunmise.

She also accused him of damaging her career opportunities and physically abusing her.

DAILY POST reports that the news about the actor’s death went viral after an obituary poster announcing his demise surfaced on social media.

Reacting to the news in an Instagram video, Ajasa said “I’m still much alive in good health.”

While calling out the names of the platforms that are responsible for sharing bad and false news about him and his colleagues, the actor said “To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender to you and your family.

“Good day everyone, my name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me”, he said.

Nigerian disc jockey, Kubeyinje Otis Ayodeji, professionally known as Baddest DJ Timmy, has called out singer Timi Dakolo over alleged debt.

The disc jockey who called the singer out in an Instagram post on Friday, explained that Dakolo had a month ago pleaded with him to take down his earlier post about the debt with a promise to pay.

While giving the singer a three-day-ultimatum to pay his money, DJ Timmy threatened to leak his ‘sexcapades’.

“If by Monday 20th, the money doesn’t hit our account, get ready to explain your sexcapades to your wife and all your little adventures in Lagos.

“Today is Friday and Wednesday makes it one month exactly you begged me to archive my post and still Timi Dakolo hasn’t paid us back,” he wrote.

Popular Big Brother Naija director, Gbenga Kayode, has debunked the allegations that the reality show was created to distract Nigerians, especially youths.

Recall that the organisers have been accused of using the reality show to “distract” Nigerians, especially during election periods.

Reacting to the allegations in a recent episode of the CreativiTea podcast, Kayode said the organisers didn’t create the show to distract Nigerians.

He emphasised that the reality TV show is apolitical and is not intended to be a tool for political distraction.

“To be very honest, we never approach Big Brother Naija show from the angle of politics or distraction. People definitely have assumptions that are not true.

“The ideas are basically if you put people in this space under these conditions, what will happen? How the people would react, we don’t know. It has nothing to do with politics or distracting people,” he said.

Kayode also rejected claims that BBNaija is part of the “Olodo uprising” that promotes illiteracy, arguing that all the past winners of the show were graduates.

Famous Nigerian actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has joined in the fight against gender-based violence in Nigeria.

He took up the fight after emerging as a key stakeholder in the Male Feminists Network on Friday.

In his remarks in Abuja, the 65-year-old veteran actor, called for more inclusion of women, especially in government.

He said, “Personally, when I did a film two years ago, I had like 80 percent women in the crew. And I always say to people in my profession, if you want to have anything done in government, put a woman in charge, and you can sleep with ‘your eyes closed.’”

He also charged men not to objectify women but to treat them with respect.

“Just give respect to women and treat them like human beings. Or treat them like the way you would treat your daughter or your wife, with respect, with dignity. You know, don’t objectify them, don’t perpetrate violence. Correcting them does not mean hitting and beating them. It is easier to talk to people these days than to just use your fist.”

Speaking on the fight against GBV, RMD urged men to take responsibility for changing harmful attitudes and behaviors, insisting that ending violence against women is not a struggle women should fight alone.

“There are institutionalized and systemic ways that women’s rights are trampled upon in Nigeria, and it is not something only women can fight. We also have to lend our voices to organizations working for women’s rights and against gender-based violence,” he said.

On his part, a public affairs analyst and gender advocate, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, said experience has shown that traditional, important personalities and religious leaders can become powerful allies in preventing gender-based violence.
