Enyimba appoint new technical crew for youth team

Enyimba have announced a four-man technical crew for the club’s youth team, DAILY POST reports.

The new technical crew will be led by Onyekachi Toni, who will serve as the technical adviser.

Ikechukwu Obiaka will serve as the head coach of the team.

Chidozie Johnson and Michael Nnanna will serve as the assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer, respectively.

They have been tasked with assembling a formidable team for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Youth League.

DAILY POST recalls that Enyimba reached the playoffs of the youth competition last season.

NNL: Wikki Tourists tackle Crown FC in friendly 

Wikki Tourists will trade tackles with Crown FC in a friendly encounter in Bauchi, DAILY POST reports.

The match will take place at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Sunday.

The game is aimed at preparing both team’s for the 2026-27 Nigeria National League, NNL, season.

Wikki Tourists have recorded five wins and two defeats from seven warm-up matches.

The Bauchi Elephants have set their sight on immediate return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Wikki Tourists are currently undergoing screening exercise to select new players for the new campaign.

Niger Tornadoes chairman Abubakar Kuso has given the reason for the choice of Bwari for the team’s close camping.

Kuso said the decision was made to provide the coaches and players with a serene environment that encourages total concentration and effective preparation.

Niger Tornadoes will take part in warm-up matches during the camping period.

“We deliberately chose Bwari because it offers a safe and distraction-free environment for the team,” Kuso told the club’s media.

Kuso also charged the players to uphold discipline, unity, commitment and professionalism throughout the camping exercise and beyond.

Niger Tornadoes will participate in a pre-season tournament after the exercise.

Meanwhile, Udodi Onwuzurike won silver in the men’s 200m final.

Onwuzurike powered to a season’s best of 20.09s to fiinish second behind South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile who took the gold in 19.96s.

Iheanacho pens farewell message to Celtic after Bursaspor transfer 

Kelechi Iheanacho has penned an emotional farewell message to Celtic following his permanent transfer to Bursaspor, DAILY POST reports.

Iheanacho spent the 2025/26 season at Celtic, helping the Hoops win the domestic double.

The Nigeria international scored nine goals across all competitions for the Scottish Premiership giants.

Celtic, however, did not renew Iheanacho’s contract before it expired, paving the way for Bursaspor to sign the striker on a free transfer.

Iheanacho took to social media to thank the Bhoys for his memorable stint at the club.

“To Celtic FC, what we achieved last season was truly incredible. I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity to represent your great football club,” Iheanacho wrote on Instagram.

“My thanks to Brendan Rodgers for bringing me to the football club. Thank you to Martin O’Neill and his staff. Special thanks to my teammates. I’ll miss you guys.”
