Kokopee, a close friend of VeryDarkMan, VDM, has revealed how he got caught in the middle of the fallout between the activist and singer Davido, saying VDM questioned why he was involving himself in their dispute.

Kokopee spoke after Nigerians called him out online for allegedly keeping quiet during the disagreement and doubted his claim that Davido had contacted him over the matter.

He said he was not involved when Davido and VDM first became friends or when the singer invited the activist to Lagos.

However, he became involved after problems emerged between them.

According to Kokopee, VDM called him to complain about something Davido had allegedly done.

He said he advised the activist to reach out to Israel or Ubi, while Davido also contacted him to discuss the issue.

Kokopee said he tried to explain to Davido why VDM felt betrayed, but the singer disagreed with his explanation.

He added that VDM later questioned why he was carrying Davido’s matter on his head and asked whether the singer had promised him a free music collaboration.

Kokopee said he eventually stepped back to avoid being accused of betraying VDM, adding that although he privately advises the activist to handle his friendship with Davido carefully, he cannot force two adults to settle their differences.

Responding to critics who doubted that Davido contacted him, Kokopee insisted that he had not revealed the content of their private conversation.

“I did not disclose the content of my chat with Davido, and Davido is not too big to message me,” he said.

He also hit back at those questioning him, saying, “I’m only humble, not hungry.”

Kokopee further challenged his critics, asking: “I too small for Davido to message?”

A pastor based in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Joel Adedeji, has recounted how his involvement in money rituals during his younger years allegedly led to the loss of his leg.

Adedeji made the revelation during an interview with BBC Yoruba, where he narrated how he sought spiritual assistance in his quest for wealth and a better life.

According to him, the herbalist he consulted instructed him to have sexual intercourse with a woman of his choice and use a piece of cloth to wipe her private part afterwards.

He said he followed the instruction and subsequently began experiencing financial prosperity.

“The baba said I should look for someone I like and have intercourse with her and use a cloth to clean her private part once I am done. After I did that, truly money came, honestly, then he asked me to bring more,” he said.

The pastor disclosed that after carrying out further instructions, the herbalist warned him that he would never be able to buy a car or build a house with the money.

He said he enjoyed the wealth for about four to five years before his fortunes took a turn for the worse.

Recounting the accident that resulted in the loss of his leg, Adedeji explained that the vehicle that hit him belonged to him but was being driven by someone he had given money to purchase it.

“Before I knew it, I got hit and landed in the hospital, and before I woke up the next day, my leg had been amputated,” he recounted.

The pastor advised young people against seeking quick wealth through questionable means, urging them to exercise patience and trust that what is meant for them will eventually come their way.

Nollywood filmmaker and digital creator, Izutech and actor Stanley Ontop have raised concerns about their colleague, Jerry Williams’ mental health amid his battle with drug addiction.

DAILY POST reports that the concerns are coming one year after actor Izutech took Jerry to rehab.

Izutech and actor Stanley Ontop raised an alarm over Williams’ worsening condition despite his rehabilitation.

Revealing plans to take the actor to another rehabilitation centre, Izutech explained that Jerry has refused to go for his check-up and also said his situation might be spiritual.

Izutech shared a photo showing Jerry Williams in police custody looking unkempt.

In an Instagram post, Izutech explained that he is currently working with the authorities to see how Jerry can be taken to another rehabilitation facility.

“So I have to post this chart here because it is not only this lady who is complaining but many; please, you all need to forgive, and also I want to make it clear that Jerry needs love and help at this point. Anyone he is calling now to claim he is fine, do not listen to him because even he doesn’t know what is happening to him and that’s why I have to post this here.

“I have drafted something and sent it to his family, and I am waiting for them. If they do not do the needful, then I will assist Jerry and make sure he goes to rehab for 1 or 2 years; then I will have to blast everything online here so that even my Chi will know that I have voiced out and not just that I will not use my right as an activist to do what I have to do.”

Also raising concerns about Jerry, Stanley Ontop asked the movie industry about his whereabouts.

Reacting to the development in the comments section of Izutech’s post, one luchysplace wrote, “Please let his family do Agwu for him. Spiritual things deep ooo. Hospital no dey cure am.”

Nigerian singer D’banj has paid tribute to his late son, Daniel, expressing pain over the loss he and his family suffered following the boy’s death.

D’banj said he misses his son and cannot imagine how his wife feels after the tragic loss.

The musician shared the emotional message on social media, describing Daniel as his family’s “star boy,” saying he believes his late son would be proud of them.

D’banj also said he, Daniel’s mother and his siblings were now in a safe space, while thanking his son for showing him what life truly means.

“Daddy loves you specially, physically, spiritually, and powerfully,” he wrote.

He also asked Daniel to greet his late uncle Femi, adding that he misses his brother too.

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has dismissed Gehgeh, other influencers and musicians, declaring that he does not rate them and that they are not on his level.

VDM made the remarks in a video response to Gehgeh’s criticism of his decision to import and sell power-related products, as well as comments from other influencers.

He accused some influencers of using their platforms to promote betting, cryptocurrency, iTunes and gift card businesses instead of speaking up about problems affecting Nigerians.

According to him, many of them travelled abroad, returned with expensive cars and received praise from their followers without using their influence to demand solutions to the country’s challenges.

Defending his business, VDM said he travelled to China, discovered products that could make life easier for Nigerians and decided to bring them into the country.

He also challenged the influencers to show when they had supported his calls for the government to address the country’s problems.

VDM insisted that some of those criticising him could only talk but lacked the ability to bring real change.

“All this bunch of clowns talking, I no rate una,” he said.

He further dismissed comparisons with musicians, declaring, “All of them, both the musicians, I’m not their mates.”

Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, known as Mr Eazi, has revealed that he had an opportunity to meet American hip-hop icon and business mogul Jay-Z but missed it.

Speaking in a recent interview with BBC Focus On Africa, Mr Eazi explained that he was given an invitation to attend the ‘Lion King’ movie premiere in 2019 after featuring on Beyoncé’s ‘Lion King: The Gift’ album, which Jay-Z was also billed to attend, but he couldn’t make it because he was already booked to perform at a concert the same date.

He stated that meeting Jay-Z would have been so great for him because he considers him his mentor in both music and business.

Mr Eazi said he still hasn’t given up the hope of meeting Jay-Z one day.

“I look up to Jay-Z in both music and entrepreneurship. I worked with Beyoncé on the Lion King music project. I was supposed to go to the movie premiere. Jay-Z was going to be there. But I was already paid to perform at a concert. So, I was like, ‘Okay, if I am meant to meet Jay-Z, it would happen another time’,” he stated.

The singer also revealed that he now has businesses in over 20 African countries.

“Right now, there are over 20 countries where I am directly or indirectly involved in business activities across Africa. Right now, we are investing in sports with a long-term goal,” Mr Eazi said.

Popular financial expert and social media personality, Gehgeh, has warned social media activist VeryDarkMan that his new power bank and power station business could make him part of Nigeria’s problems, arguing that poor electricity supply could become beneficial to his sales.

Gehgeh gave the warning after a 40-foot container reportedly filled with VeryDarkMan’s power banks and power stations arrived.

He said VeryDarkMan should have ventured into construction, arguing that his followers could have pushed the government to award him contracts because they trust him to deliver.

Gehgeh said the power business could put VeryDarkMan in a position where he would benefit from persistent electricity problems.

“If there is light, you may not be able to sell your power banks and power stations,” he said.

He advised VeryDarkMan to sell the products to businessman B-Lord and return to his activism and online policing.

Nollywood actor, Uzor Arukwe, has accused film producers of repeatedly offering him “Odogwu” characters, saying he cannot be restricted to one type of role.

Arukwe made the remark during an interview on The Creativitea Podcast, where he said producers kept asking him to repeat the character because they believed it would guarantee returns on their investment.

“All the producers in Nollywood now want to kill me with Odogwu character. You can’t put me in a box,” he said.

The actor urged producers to take chances on other characters, just as someone had taken a chance on the role that helped establish his popularity.

“The same way someone took a chance on that character, you can also create another character and give to me,” Arukwe said.

His comments came after his manager, Mautin Tairu, popularly known as Mr M, admitted that he had also become tired of the actor’s frequent “igbotic” roles.

Veteran Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel has stated that it is unfair to compare Ghana’s movie industry to Nigeria’s Nollywood.

Speaking in a recent interview with Y1079 FM Accra, Michel explained that Nigeria has a far bigger population than Ghana, adding that there is also a high possibility of Nigeria having better actors and filmmakers than Ghana.

He described the comparison between Nigerian and Ghanaian movie industries as “stupid,” arguing that it is not a fair comparison.

He said, “The comparison between us and Nigeria is such a stupid comparison to me. If you have 50 children and I have 5 children, the possibility that you will have more criminals, doctors, good children and filmmakers than me is very high.

“We are less than 40 million in Ghana. Nigeria is over 200 million, almost 300 million. So how on earth would you compare?

“Why do they have more doctors than us? Mathematically, you should know why. So if Nigeria has more filmmakers than us, it only makes sense because they are way more than us.

“It is also unfair for us to compare ourselves with any other established nation in the world. When it comes to leadership, we are adolescent.

“There are countries that have been in leadership for over 300 years. They have built systems. We are way behind. So it is an unfair comparison.”

Singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, known as Mr Eazi, has claimed that he played a significant role in revitalising Afrobeats in 2016 and the genre’s eventual global acceptance.

Speaking in a recent interview with 3Music TV, Mr Eazi claimed that he singlehandedly “saved” the genre in 2016.

“I saved Afrobeats in 2016,” he said.

The ‘Skin Tight’ crooner explained that his entry into the music scene brought a breath of fresh air and life to Afrobeats.
