Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has mocked rapper Blaqbonez by declaring that Odumodublvck is still his senior in the music industry, while warning him that he could face a beating if he continued trying to associate himself with him.

The singer made the remarks in a series of posts on X after Blaqbonez appeared to take a swipe at him.

Blaqbonez had earlier written: “Lagos agbero people, please, I am not Seyi Vibez, dammit.”

Seyi Vibez fired back, accusing the rapper of seeking attention through him.

“I be won curse you b4 Blaqbones, but I no go give you free promo,” he wrote.

He then dragged Odumodublvck into the exchange, telling Blaqbonez: “Blaqbones, your daddy na still Odumodu, if you like go up and down.”

Seyi Vibez also warned the rapper against trying to align himself with him, adding: “The fool won dey align himself with me. Na beating you go meet there aboy.”

He further dismissed Blaqbonez’s comments as an attempt to gain attention, telling him to take his “rubbish clout” elsewhere.

Damilola Olayemi, the widow of the late Nigerian gospel singer, Toluwanisings, has finally bowed to pressure over the final resting place of her husband.

This came after an alleged disagreement with the singer’s family.

DAILY POST recalls that the family had, in a viral interview online, alleged that the 32-year-old widow rejected the plan to bury Toluwanisings at their home in Ibadan, Oyo State.

She reportedly said she preferred him buried at the cemetery.

Kicking against her wish, Toluwanisings’ father insisted that the singer’s body should be taken to his hometown and buried near his late mother if he can’t be buried at his Ibadan residence.

The development sparked controversy online, with many questioning the wife’s love for him and calling for an investigation into his sudden death.

However, speaking amid the controversy in an Instagram video on Sunday, Toluwanisings’ close associate and colleague, Lanre Alewilese, revealed that the wife has finally agreed to the singer being buried at home.

While terming the disagreement between the widow and her father-in-law a misunderstanding, Alewilese pleaded with netizens to be calm and stop attacking the deceased’s wife.

“Please for God’s sake, let peace reign. Damilola is very young for what she’s currently going through. I’m very close to the deceased; his wife is accommodating. All his band members can attest to this.

“The disagreement between Toluwanisings’ father and his widow has been resolved. What happened was just a misunderstanding. The duo have agreed to bury Toluwanisings at his house. Please, Nigerians, let there be peace. If you truly love the singer, let his wife have peace now that his burial place has been resolved.”

Toluwanisings’ widow bows to pressure, agrees for singer to be buried at home

Afrobeats singer, Davido has said a joint tour with Wizkid would sell out venues worldwide, revealing that he would demand $500,000 for each show.

Davido made the statement during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show while discussing the possibility of recording music and touring with his colleague.

He, however, expressed uncertainty about whether a joint song with Wizkid would become a hit, citing the collaboration between D’banj and 2Baba as an example.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” Davido said.

But he was more confident about the prospect of touring together, saying: “If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out.”

The singer also said he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in about 10 years, explaining that their failure to collaborate was not because they were unable to work together.

Davido said he had not been in the same mental space with Wizkid, adding that people had different opinions about whether their rivalry had made them bigger or whether working together would boost their careers.

He also spoke about moving past disagreements, saying it takes maturity for someone to admit when their feelings have changed.

“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.

Social media personality, GehGeh, has challenged VeryDarkMan, VDM, to focus on President Bola Tinubu, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister Nyesom Wike and the All Progressives Congress, APC, instead of threatening to bring him down.

GehGeh made the remarks while responding to VDM, who he claimed had threatened to ruin his reputation.

He said his role as a financial expert was to offer advice, adding that people could either accept or reject his counsel but would still face the consequences of their decisions.

GehGeh also argued that VDM had no power to bring him down unless he did something wrong, adding that he could equally use his social media influence against the activist if he engaged in wrongdoing.

Questioning why VDM was focusing on him, GehGeh said there were more influential political figures he could challenge.

“If VeryDarkMan wan bring anybody down, na me be the right person to bring down? Let’s be honest, Tinubu is there, APC is there, Wike is there, go and bring them down,” he said.

He further urged VDM to use his influence to hold political leaders accountable, saying: “You get power to bring people down but APC and Wike is still there, bring those people down it will benefit Nigeria.”

Veteran record producer and music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed that he lavished his first major earnings from music on frivolities rather than investing or using it wisely.

Speaking in a recent episode of the On The Grind podcast, Jazzy explained that he later got the hint and started investing his subsequent earnings, especially on new artists.

He said because of his investments in record labels and other businesses, he doesn’t have to ever work again.

He advised young people to prioritise investing when they start making money rather than spending excessively on frivolities.

Don Jazzy said, “The first big money I got from music I lavished it. I bought 50 bottles of champagne and went clubbing. But I quickly coordinated myself and invested in signing new artistes. Now I don’t have to work ever again.

“You don’t necessarily have to invest in a record label, but the money you are making in your youth, invest it in a lucrative business as opposed to wasting it on frivolities.”

So when it comes to body-shaming, Mystic Being’s answer has been simple: she continues to cosplay. She has already portrayed over 100 characters and doesn’t want to let strangers discourage her from trying a new one.

Why a Perfect Costume Isn’t Necessary

Mystic Being thinks people shouldn’t have to meet certain expectations before cosplaying. You don’t have to look exactly like a character, have a particular body type or wear a perfect costume.

Her suggestion is to pick a character you love and allow yourself to have fun. It’s a message for people with varying body sizes, experience levels and creative skills. Some people may be trying cosplay for the first time. Others may have years of experience or simply love creating their very own costumes.

Mystic Being feels there’s space for them all. She wants people to feel comfortable exploring characters they like, without needing everyone’s approval.

“Choose a character you love and give yourself permission to have fun. There is room for different sizes, skill levels, and interpretations,” she says.

Bringing Unexpected Characters to Life

The characters that Mystic Being selects are one of the most interesting aspects of her work. She has transformed herself into the Marvel Rivals version of Emma Frost, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Bride of Frankenstein and Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These characters look very different and are from different fictional worlds. For Mystic Being, this diversity is part of the fun.

She is a fan of anime and Pokémon, but doesn’t want to restrict her cosplay to a specific genre or style. Sometimes, the character people least expect her to choose is the one she finds most exciting to portray. She enjoys exploring new styles and looks, which is an important part of her creative journey.

Continuing to Create Despite Criticism

Since 2020, Mystic Being has been building her social media presence and currently has a combined following of over seven million across her social media platforms.

In addition to cosplay, she also makes content related to streaming, anime, Pokémon and travel. In 2023, she also started crafting some of her own cosplay costumes, providing her with another way to express her creativity. She plans to keep exploring more characters to portray and improve her costume-making skills. While she has received criticism online, she does not want it to take away from the fun of cosplay.

She also wants her journey to inspire those who may be hesitant to try cosplay. Her message is that cosplay is open to people of different sizes, skill levels and interpretations.

Finding characters that you love and having fun bringing them to life without letting negative comments stop you is what is most important to Mystic Being.

TV host Morayo Brown has warned parents against sending emotionally immature teenagers abroad for high school, following reports that a 15-year-old Ghanaian boy was killed in the United States after allegedly being bullied.

Brown gave the warning while reacting to the incident, recalling how she was bullied when she attended high school in the US at the age of 15.

She said fellow students targeted her because she was African, put dirty items in her locker and pushed her during morning sports activities.

Brown said she did not report the incidents because she was new to the school and wanted to fit in, adding that some students repeatedly made her feel she did not belong.

She also recalled that the bullying worsened when she was preparing to attend prom.

The TV host said parents should ensure their children are emotionally mature and properly guided before sending them abroad for secondary education.

“University abroad is fine, but high school can be treacherous,” she said.

She urged parents to communicate regularly with their children, ask questions about their experiences and provide the support they need while adjusting to life in a foreign country.

Nollywood actress Lola Idije has warned against pressuring women to marry early, saying some are destined to get married at 40 or 50 and should not be judged for raising children without husbands.

Lola made the remarks during an appearance on the Africanlist Podcast, where she defended women who shoulder the responsibility of raising their children alone.

“Not everybody will have a husband to help them raise their children. So women have to carry their burden alone. Not all of them choose that life,” she said.

The actress argued that some women become single mothers because of circumstances beyond their control, insisting that not having a husband does not mean a woman is irresponsible.

She further questioned the pressure placed on young women to marry, asking how anyone could be certain that marrying at 20 would not lead them to choose the wrong partner.

“But if you start pressuring them at 20, how can you be sure that they won’t marry the wrong person?” she said.
