The father of former Big Brother Naija winner, Ilebaye, Mr Odinia Emmanuel Godson, has spoken publicly about the incident that allegedly led to the physical assault and domestic violence against his daughter.

In a confession video that has since gone viral and was shared by a journalist on her Facebook page, Mr. Godson explained the reasons behind his actions.

He said, “I am Odinia Emmanuel Godson, the father of Ilebaye Odiniya.

“I want to really thank my fellow Nigerians and Nigerians all over the world for what was on the internet about my daughter, both good and bad.

“I really want to appreciate you, but I want to put the record straight that what led to that was not that I don’t love my daughter. She was one of my best children and, if we take records from days gone by, you can note that she attended the best schools, which shows I really love my daughter.

“But at a certain time, she wanted to join Big Brother.

“When she told me, I accepted it and I began working towards it. At a certain time, she failed the first one and was evicted. Then the second one in 2023 or thereabout, I contributed a lot, using my relationship with Nigerians within and outside the country to vote massively for my daughter.

“My personal contribution there is over 75 percent, but when she successfully came out of that and won, what I was expecting from her wasn’t forthcoming.

“For instance, where I come from, if you have a child, you can’t wait until the child spoils to a certain level before you can correct him or her. Ilebaye couldn’t listen to me anymore each time,” he said.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that the former winner of the Big Brother Naija reality show, Ilebaye, called on the general public for help over alleged domestic violence and physical assault.

Ilebaye, who was seen with a swollen face, cried for help during an Instagram livestream on Friday midnight.

In a trending video from the livestream, the reality star was seen screaming and crying for help while a man believed to be her father was allegedly seen physically assaulting her in the background.

Ilebaye’s father breaks silence on alleged assault

Frank Edoho, a famous Nigerian media personality and former host of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, has vowed never to be committed to just one woman.

Edoho had sparked debate on social media regarding infidelity and the dynamics of forgiveness in marriage.

In a post on X, he warned men not to forgive cheating wives, noting that “she will not only continue cheating, but she will also resent the Man for forgiving her & disrespect him in extreme ways.”

Reacting to the post, a user @Wagon1011 asked if the media personality is single. “Frank are you single?”

In response, Edoho who stated that he has remained single after the crash of his second marriage, revealed his decision never to be committed to a woman again.

 “Yes. I have had my share. Never getting committed again. Ever.”

DAILY POST recalls that in June 2025, the media personality announced the end of his second marriage to Sandra Onyenucheya.

He previously got married to broadcaster Katherine Obiang in 2003, and ended the seven year marriage in 2010.

I’ll never commit to a woman again’ – Frank Edoho

The father of BBNaija All Stars winner, Ilebaye, Emmanuel Odiniya, has opened up on the ongoing family crisis involving the reality TV star.

Speaking in an emotional interview on Sunday, in Abuja, the father of the reality star alleged that Ilebaye now makes him book appointments before seeing her following her rise to fame after winning the Big Brother Naija All Stars edition.

According to him, their once close relationship changed after her success in the entertainment industry.

Speaking he said “She made me book an appointment before I could see her. Things are no longer the same between us”.

A viral video surfaced online days ago showing Ilebaye in an emotional state, sparking reactions on social media and leading to police intervention.

Meanwhile, the matter has continued to generate reactions online, with fans expressing concern over the growing family dispute.

Reality TV star Tacha Akide also reacted publicly, calling for urgent help after Ilebaye’s emotional livestream went viral.

Wizkid’s personal disc jockey, DJ Tunez, has criticised Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy’s music following their clash in April. 

DAILY POST recalls that Burna Boy and his team reportedly assaulted DJ Tunez at Obi’s House, Lagos, a few weeks ago, which led to the DJs Association of Nigeria temporarily suspending the singer pending investigation into the alleged incident. 

Amidst the ongoing investigation, DJ Tunez sparked controversy after throwing shade a Burna Boy during a recent performance at a London club.

During his set, DJ Tunez played Burna Boy’s song ‘Last Last’ but muted his vocals and then proceeded to call his music “rubbish.”

His statement sparked cheers and condemnation from among the audience in a clip from the event, which has since gone viral.

It also elicited mixed reactions online with many berating DJ Tunez for escalating the beef with Burna Boy and warning of possible reprisal from the latter.

Nigerian music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy, has said Afrobeats artists and producers made better music when they used to live together in record labels’ houses with studios and other facilities. 

Speaking in a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, Don Jazzy recounted how a random incident involving D’Prince at a house where they were living together in Mo’Hits mansion inspired D’Banj’s ‘Olorun Maje.’

“I have a theory that says that most of the great music that we made in Afrobeats was when all of us were living together. For instance, D’Banj’s ‘Olorun Maje,’ the idea was from D’Prince and Sunday Are, who was our manager then. 

“Sunday Are was complaining that D’Prince didn’t want to go to radio interviews. He came to report to me but I didn’t even listen because I was working in the studio. So, I told him to go and report to D’Banj because he is like a military man. After he reported, D’Banj started shouting at D’Prince. Then D’Prince now came back into the studio where I was with Sunday Are and pretended like he was dusting some equipment and then began to sing, ‘Some people they want make I cry, some people they want make I die, why? Olorun Maje oooo.’

“The lyrics just fell precisely to the beat I was making at that time. I told him to pause that I like it. That was how the song was born. Also the song ‘You bad, you want it’ was from Dr Sid, who randomly walked into the studio and started rhyming to a beat I was making,” he recalled. 

Don Jazzy noted that music creation nowadays is different from the time him and his contemporaries held sway.

He, however, said he hasn’t changed his pattern, stressing that he goes into the studio with the intention of creating a beat for a particular artist.

He advised the new generation of creatives to associate more to build cohesion between their crafts. 

Afrobeats artists, producers made better music when they lived together – Don Jazzy 

Nigerian record producer and music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has named alternative rock singer Johnny Drille as his best musician.

The Mavin boss said Johnny Drille’s music is unique, stressing that he is a complete musician.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, Don Jazzy claimed that Johnny Drille has no rival in the Nigerian music industry.

“If you look at the Nigerian music industry right now, there is nobody like Johnny Drille. He is in a world of his own. He is like the best musician – the complete musician that I know. He is versatile. He mix, write, sing. He does everything.

“He is also an amazing performer – the way he sounds in the studio is the same way he sounds in live shows,” he said.

AMVCA 2026: Full list of winners

Veteran Nigerian movie stars, Kanayo O. Kanayo and Sola Sobowale, have won Industry Merit Award at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, AMVCA.

The duo were honored with the awards on Saturday night during the 12th edition of the AMVCA awards ceremony held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos state.

The awards recognised their decades-long contributions to the Nigerian movie industry and their impact as two of Nollywood’s most respected screen icons.

Receiving the award, Shola Shobowale, who appreciated the organisers and her fans, specially appreciated her children for making motherhood an easy journey for her and her career.

“I want to specially thank God Almighty for keeping till this day to have this. I thank my children. Thank you to all my colleagues. I thank my fans because without you ‘Ko si Shola’ (there’s no Shola) It truly is an honour”, she said

On his part, Kanayo O. Kanayo used the moment to speak against xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Nigerian influencer, Priscilla Ojo has revealed that her husband, Juma Jux, a Tanzanian singer, was presumed impotent in his country because he didn’t have a child at 35 despite his fame and wealth. 

She said the suspicion stirred from the fact that his friends and fellow musicians all have children but he didn’t have at that time despite dating multiple women. 

Priscilla disclosed this during a candid interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo while recounting the challenges she and her husband went through before welcoming their first child in August 2025.

She said even after the birth of their child, the suspicions did not end as many still speculated that their child was through surrogacy or implantation. 

“In his country Tanzania, people thought he was impotent because he did not have a child or babymama like his many of his friends and colleagues. They were like, ‘Why he is not having kids like his friends?’ Because obviously, he has been in past relationships. 

“They were questions but he knew when it was time. He is very disciplined. He knew what he wanted. You can roll with certain people and not be like them,” she added. 

Priscilla and Juma Jux held their civil wedding in Tanzania in February 2025 before moving to Lagos, Nigeria for traditional and white weddings in April 2025.

The couple welcomed their first child, a boy named Prince Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, in Canada in August 2025.

‘People thought my husband was impotent’ – Priscilla Ojo

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha sparked reactions after recreating Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham’s snub moment.

The duo recreated the viral snub video on Saturday during the hosting segment at the 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards ceremony in Lagos State.

DAILY POST recalls that Funke Akindele had, during the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s movie, *The Return of Arinzo* in March 2026, publicly snubbed Toyin Abraham over their rivalry.

Following the controversy, the duo unfollowed each other on social media, with Iyabo Ojo accusing Toyin Abraham of violating a peace agreement with Akindele.
