Uzor Arukwe reacts to rumours of destroying Bambam’s marriage

Nollywood actor, Uzor Arukwe has addressed the controversy surrounding his on-screen role with actress and reality star, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan.

Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe dismissed rumours suggesting he was romantically involved with the married actress following their roles in a film together.

The actor explained that he was careful during filming and even discussed boundaries with Bambam before performing scenes that required physical contact, stressing that he did not want to do anything that could jeopardize her marriage.

“Before I touched her, I asked her if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home,” he said.

Arukwe further debunked claims that the two were intimate off-screen, revealing that he had never met Bambam before they began shooting the movie.

“That movie was the first time I had ever met her. But people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false,” he added.

Nigerian singers, Pheelz and Khaid were allegedly robbed during a car break-in in Los Angeles, United States.

The singers disclosed this on their respective Instagram pages on Thursday, revealing that their Range Rover was broken into and valuables, including a laptop, phone, and bank cards, were stolen.

Sharing a clip of the damaged car, Khaid wrote, “Just f*cking got robbed in Cali, my passport to travel, my laptop, my f*cking harddrive. All my f*cking songs,” he lamented.

On his part, Pheelz described the incident as one of the craziest nights of his life.

He wrote, “[I] got robbed in Cali. WTF. Thank God for life.

“One of the craziest night of my life for sure.”

However, the singers did not disclose whether the incident has been reported to the appropriate authority.

Popular influencer, Broda Shaggy hospitalised after being shot in Ogun

Broda Shaggy, a famous Nigerian content creator and influencer, has been reportedly hospitalised following the injury sustained from gunshot in Ogun State.

He was allegedly shot on Sunday while filming at the Sango Ota Bridge.

The details of the shooting remain sketchy as he was rushed to a private hospital in Alakuko area of Lagos State and was later referred to another hospital in Ikeja.

Abimbola Adebisi, the Lagos State police spokesperson, explained that the incident was reported by the hospital.

“The hospital reported to the command that a gunshot victim was brought to their facility, and we discovered it was Broda Shaggy when we visited the hospital”, The Sun reported.

Popular social media personality, King Mitchy, has publicly apologised to Nigerians following backlash over a recent live video in which she admitted to taking a substance while on air.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Mitchy said she had reflected on her actions and acknowledged that what she did was wrong, especially because many young girls look up to her.

“I’m ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days I’ve thought about my behaviour and I know that I was wrong,” she wrote.

She admitted that taking the substance during the live video was inappropriate and expressed regret over disappointing her followers.

“I want to be held accountable for the substance I took on live video. That was very wrong of me because there are young girls that are looking up to me one day, and I know I disappointed a lot of people,” she added.

Mitchy also tendered a public apology to Seyi Tinubu, whom she referred to as her boss, stating that although she had apologised privately, she felt the need to do so publicly since the incident happened in the public space.

“My boss, ST Seyi Tinubu, I’m so sorry. I know I apologised privately but I did not disrespect you privately I disrespected you publicly, so I want to apologise publicly. I’m so sorry sir,” she said.

She further apologised to the Ooni of Ife for mentioning his name during the controversy.

“To the Ooni of Ife, I’m so sorry for bringing your name into this, daddy,” she stated.

Mitchy also addressed activist VeryDarkMan, acknowledging his advocacy and expressing regret for previously confronting him.

“To VeryDarkMan, my brother, I see what you’re fighting for, you’re fighting for Nigeria and we can make Nigeria a better place. I’m sorry for coming at you like that. Maybe now I understand you better,” she said.

She concluded by noting that the activist needs more supporters rather than critics in the fight for a better Nigeria.

“You need more supporters, not people to fight you. I’m sorry, my brother. Thank you,” Mitchy added.

Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr has named her greatest Afrobeats artistes of all time, otherwise called “Afrobeats Big 3.”

In a recent interview with Hot 97 FM, Starr picked Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, and Rema as the greatest Afrobeats artists of all time.

The usual suspects Davido and Burna Boy, who are often tipped along with Wizkid as the Afrobeats Big 3, were conspicuously snubbed by Ayra Starr.

“My Afrobeats Big 3 would be Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Rema. My solid Big 3,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ayra Starr has revealed why she relocated from Nigeria to New York, disclosing that her friends and cultural proximity influenced her decision.

“I spent the last two summers in New York and last summer I lived in Hell’s Kitchen for about three months with my friends. We were watching American shows and movies. It was fun.

“Also, growing up, I had always wanted to come to America. So which city would I want to go? LA is too far, the time difference with Nigeria is nine hours. So, I chose New York,” she explained in an interview with Angela Yee.

Veteran Nollywood actress and evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi, has opened up on the painful experience of losing her son after years of battling sickle cell disease.

Speaking during an appearance on the Honest Brunch Podcast, the actress reflected on her journey as a mother caring for a child born with the SS genotype.

According to Anunobi, the struggle began when her son fell ill shortly before his first birthday and medical tests revealed he had sickle cell disease.

Tearfully she said, “Just before my son was one year old, he fell ill and I took him to the hospital. They checked his genotype and said he was SS, and there started the battle of my life.”

The actress explained that she immediately began searching for ways to manage the condition, studying everything she could about caring for a child living with sickle cell disorder.

“I started going everywhere. I started looking for medication, reading about herbs and studying everything about what it means to take care of an SS child.”

Eucharia Anunobi noted that she had to learn strict lifestyle precautions to protect her son’s health.

“I started understanding that they can’t stay where there is dust or where there is heat. My son never drank pure water,” she added.

Despite the challenges, the actress described the years she spent raising her son as one of the most fulfilling periods of her life.

“I’m grateful that God gave me the opportunity to be a mother. The joy of having nurtured a child for 16 years, six months and 22 days — those years were one of the most glorious years of my life,” she said.

Anunobi added that the experience strengthened her faith and deepened her relationship with God.

She said, “I’m grateful to God for making me a mother, and I learnt so much in the course of taking care of him. It deepened my relationship with God.”

‘I’ve been sad’ – Kunle Afolayan solicits help over fuel price hike [VIDEO]

Famous Nollywood star and businessman, Kunle Afolayan, has solicited help over his inability to cope with the latest hike in fuel price.

Speaking in a now trending video on social media, Afolayan revealed that he spends N11 million on diesel at his KAP Film Village monthly despite having solar power.

Lamenting over his financial struggles, Afolayan said, “It’s not sustainable because even the diesel we have been buying was on credit and when we make small money we find a way to pay, and sometimes it takes two months to pay and then get another one on credit.”

While begging the public for help, the actor stated that he needs a load.

“We need a loan to upgrade our solar power. So if you can come to our aid, I will really appreciate it.

“I have been sad because I can’t cope with the N1,500 per liter of diesel. I can’t even comprehend it because in one of the businesses that we run, Cab Village, we spent about N11 million in 4 to 5 weeks. And even though we have solar power, we still spend a lot on diesel.

“When this announcement of the new diesel price came, I have been sad. From N995 or N1000 to more than N1,500,” he stated.

Ace producer and music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has disclosed his type of ideal woman.

Appearing in a recent episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast hosted by actress Chinasa Anukam, Jazzy revealed that his ideal woman is a freak with a soft body and personality.

The 43-year-old explained that he doesn’t tolerate abuses and violence in relationship, stressing that he leaves the moment he notices such tendencies.

“My ideal woman for dating in order of importance, first of all, you have to be a freak. I don’t know how I found that out but it is one.

Afrobeats singer, Ayra Starr has expressed praise and admiration for Nigerian men.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Way Up with Angela Yee, Starr said Nigerian men are like New York men, supportive and very confident.

She, however, noted that she still had her reservations about Nigerian men, stressing that “men are still men.”

She said, “Nigerian men love to take care of their women. They are very supportive of their wife or girlfriend.

“They are very very confident, so it is almost the same thing as New York men. But you know, men are men. A man is a man still. It is universal thing.”

This is coming months after Ayra Starr faced heavy criticisms and backlash on social media from mostly Nigerian men, who argued that her social media feminism advocacy doesn’t align with her personality offline.

Her critics claimed that her enthusiastic reaction to meeting Chris Brown and her dance video to Naira Marley’s song did not align with her perceived feminist image.

She also previously faced criticism over her fashion sense.

Starr addressed the controversy regarding her fashion choices, telling critics in 2023 that they are not her “pastor” or “mother”.

Nigerian singer, Timaya has shared his opinion on having children out of wedlock and marriage.

The Dem Mama crooner sparked outrage after he was seen in a now-viral clip saying it is better to have children out of wedlock, claiming that marriage doesn’t work.

Timaya and Paul Okoye aka Rudeboy appeared to be giving their colleague, Phyno, marital advice in the viral video.

“Just born pikin, pikin go grow. This marriage thing no dey work,” he said in pidgin, sparking mixed reactions from those in the room in the viral video.

The video also elicited mixed reactions on social media, with many disagreeing with Timaya’s stance on marriage.

Timaya is a father of four children with three different women. He shares his first two daughters, Emmanuella and Gracey, with Barbara Fumnaya Nwaokolo, his son Emmanuel with Tamar, and his youngest child, Maya, with Dunnie Onasanya.
