Police begin probe into Blessing CEO’s cancer claims

Popular Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that a petition he filed against controversial relationship therapist, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been approved for investigation by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The development comes amid controversy surrounding Blessing CEO’s recent claim that she was battling stage four cancer.

On march 25, 2026, Blessing CEO shared a viral video on her Instagram page in which she tearfully claimed she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. In the video, she showed signs of hair loss, which she said was caused by the illness.

Following the announcement, she also revealed that she had begun auctioning some of her properties in order to raise funds for her cancer treatment.

However, the situation took a different turn after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, disowned a histology report circulating online that had been linked to Blessing CEO.

The association clarified that the document was allegedly altered from an original medical report that belonged to a different patient who had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

DAILY POST recalls that Blessing CEO had earlier shared the medical report online to support her claim while soliciting financial assistance from the public.

After facing widespread backlash and allegations that the medical report had been manipulated, Blessing CEO later retracted her earlier statement.

Speaking in an interview amid the controversy, she said, “I don’t have stage four cancer. That was a miscommunication.”

She further stated that the total money from the donations she got summed up to 13 million Naira.

She subsequently deactivated her social media account.

Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan said he decided to file a petition after he personally donated money to Blessing CEO, believing her claim.

In a video shared via his official Instagram handle on Tuesday, VDM explained that he was moved by compassion after watching the video in which she shaved her hair.

“I believed her because she shaved her hair and I felt compassion. On that very day, I didn’t have anything left in my account, but I still transferred money to her,” he said.

He expressed disappointment over the situation, stressing that many people genuinely battling cancer deserve empathy and support.

“There are a lot of people living with cancer. How can someone come out and joke with something like this?” he added.

VDM further revealed that he had formally submitted a petition to the police over the matter.

“I have written a petition against Blessing CEO and the Inspector General of Police has assigned it for investigation,” he stated.

Cancer saga: Lady who Blessing CEO allegedly doctored her medical report breaks silence [VIDEO]

Mrs Deborah Mbara, the lady who Blessing CEO allegedly doctored her cancer report, has finally broken her silence.

This is coming a few hours after the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, called for the arrest of Blessing, a controversial relationship expert for altering the medical report of a cancer patient.

DAILY POST reports that Blessing CEO had a few days ago shared a medical report to back up her stage 4 breast cancer claim as she solicited financial support from the public.

The report was allegedly from Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by Dr. O.A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist.

While countering Blessing’s claim, Xinus Medical Diagnostics accused her of altering the report, noting that the original report was issued to Deborah Mbara in May 2025.

However, reacting to the development in a video shared on her Instagram page, Deborah Mbara who is a make-up artist and a cancer survivor, noted that Blessing begged her to share her cancer report to her so that she can compare it with her report.

She said, “Sometime last year, Blessing CEO was in Asaba, and I was her makeup artist. Fast forward to last week, when she started crying that she had cancer, and sold off her properties. My friend reached out to her to check up on her. And we even got a doctor on the call to help us educate her and encourage her. I was telling her how God saw me through my own, and the scars.

“Then she said, ‘Zazi, can you just please help me send the report of when you were diagnosed so I could compare it with the one my doctor gave to me. And I said ok no problem. Only for me to see it on the Internet on Friday that it was my result that she doctored to back up the nonsense and money people were donating to her.

“She said she doesn’t know me and has never spoken to any of my family. But she was in Asaba on Monday to beg my husband and my family. And my husband told her to tender a public apology on social media and confess how everything happened. I thought I was helping someone in need, not knowing she had a different agenda. This is evil.”

NMA counters Blessing CEO’s cancer claim

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, has disowned a histology report circulating online, allegedly linked to relationship coach Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

The association said the document was altered from an original medical report issued to a different patient diagnosed with breast cancer.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the NMA Delta State Chairman, Dr. Israel Adaigho, and Secretary, Dr. Usamah Hannah, cited by DAILY POST on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the report being circulated online was purportedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by consultant pathologist, Dr. O.A. Odigwe.

However, the association said the proprietor of the diagnostic centre had clarified that the document did not belong to Blessing Okoro.

The statement noted that Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State, and not in Enugu State as claimed in the viral report.

It explained that the centre was contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to conduct a confirmatory test for a patient identified as Mbara Deborah over a suspected case of breast cancer.

The NMA said the test was carried out and the result was issued to the referring doctor on May 9, 2025, confirming the case as breast cancer.

According to the association, the original report bearing the name Mbara Deborah is the same document currently being circulated online by the law firm Allen Juris Law.

The NMA added that the report being paraded by Blessing Okoro appears to be an altered version of the original result.

The statement read in part: “Our attention has been drawn to an online histology report purportedly issued to one Blessing Okoro, aka Blessing CEO, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics allegedly located in Enugu State. The said histology report was also alleged to have been signed by Dr. O.A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist.

“The proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics, Dr. O.A. Odigwe, who is also a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State chapter, has reached us and offered the following clarification: that Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State and did not at any time issue any report to Blessing Okoro.

“The centre was contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to do a confirmatory test on a possible case of breast cancer for a patient, Mbara Deborah. The test was done and the result issued to the referring doctor as a case of breast cancer on May 9, 2025.

“A copy of that result is the one currently being circulated online by the law firm, Allen Juris Law, with the name Mbara Deborah as the patient. That result from the law firm is the original version issued to the patient through her hospital.”

The association said the clarification became necessary due to the purposes for which the altered report was allegedly being used.

It urged members of the public to be properly guided and warned against actions that could undermine the integrity of medical practitioners.

The NMA also called on relevant authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to take necessary steps to prevent unsuspecting members of the public from being taken advantage of.

DAILY POST recalls that Blessing CEO had a few days ago solicited financial assistance from the public for the treatment of what she described as stage four cancer.

However, following backlash and allegations online that the medical report she shared had been edited, the relationship coach later made a U-turn on her earlier claim.

Speaking in an interview amid the controversy, she said, “I don’t have stage 4 cancer. That was a miscommunication.”

After which she deactivated her account.
