Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the country’s problems are being addressed.

Kosoko spoke on the Talk To B podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, where he argued that some Nigerians needed to consider the country’s situation before Tinubu took office.

“Things are not as bad as some people have claimed and they need to understand. Go and check the majority of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating?” he said.

However, when the interviewer asked what evidence an ordinary Nigerian could point to in support of the claim that Tinubu was fixing the country, Kosoko maintained that the President was working to address problems inherited by his administration.

The actor also pointed to the student loan scheme as one of the government’s initiatives.

He urged beneficiaries to speak about how the program had helped them.

He said the government had promised to support graduates who could not immediately secure employment.

“Such initiatives deserved public attention,” he said.

Kosoko, who said he had been involved in politics since 1978, also argued that political ambition sometimes prevented people from acknowledging what he considered progress by the government.

According to him, some Nigerians knew the truth about the administration but allowed their political interests to influence their opinions.

“Those in the opposition know the truth. They know that the man is on the right track, but ambition is affecting their thinking,” Jide Kosoko said.

Veteran Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has criticised the entitlement mentality of the Nigerian society, lamenting that the country now has a culture of begging.

Speaking in a recent episode of Activating Success With Love Idoko, the movie icon said she doesn’t support or encourage begging in any form except if it is a life-and-death situation.

According to her, there is no reason anyone can’t work.

She said, “A lot of Nigerians take opportunities for granted. And one thing we have to understand is that nobody owes you anything. Nigerians now have a culture of begging.

“I don’t support or encourage begging. I believe that there is no reason why anybody can’t work. There is something you can do. There is a kind of value you can bring to humanity.

“Everybody has needs, including me. There are some needs I have that if I was entitled I would go and beg certain people.

“So, don’t feel like because you don’t have money like me, you are the only one who has a reason to beg. At every level, we all have needs. But we are all struggling through it. Even if you have to beg, it should be a life-and-death situation.”

Omotola added, “Try as much as you can not to beg and be a nuisance. Begging reduces your own self-worth. If you must beg, let it be in a desperate situation. And don’t do it with entitlement.”

Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, popularly known as Mayorkun, has shared how Davido “miraculously” messaged and signed him after snubbing him for two weeks. 

Speaking in a recent episode of the Afropolitan podcast, Mayorkun explained that he had quit his banking job after Davido promised to sign him after seeing a clip of him singing online, but the DMW ghosted him for two weeks, which left him in panic. 

Mayorkun said he resorted to seeking spiritual assistance and started going to church, trusting God to intervene.

He recalled that after leading a praise and worship session in the church one day, Davido texted him immediately and asked him to move into his house. 

“Davido stopped replying to me for two weeks after I quit my banking job. I started going to church, and one day, immediately after singing praise and worship, he texted me on WhatsApp to pack my luggage and come to his house. It was more than a testimony. 

“You may not believe me but I haven’t even returned to my seat after leading the praise and worship before he messaged. I was on my way to my seat. Before then, I was in panic because I wasn’t sure whether Davido would talk to me again,” he stated.

Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has ruled out supporting the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 presidential election, despite his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, endorsing President Bola Tinubu.

In a recent video making the rounds online, the Grammy-nominated artist made his position known during an interview with News Central TV, just days after the Osun State governorship election and the announcement of the results.

The singer explained that although his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, declared support for President Bola Tinubu after winning the election, he was not obligated to follow his uncle’s political choice.

He also recalled his involvement in previous political campaigns, including his support for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar when they were in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Davido said, “I defeated 17 governors with all their power, with all their immunity, escort commanders, DSS, with all their billions. I defeated them with just a phone.

“For now, I feel like I did what I had to do for the Osun people and my family.

“You can’t force me to have a presidential candidate. My uncle might have his personal reasons for the gain of the state.”

Speaking about his uncle’s decision to support Tinubu, the singer said, “My uncle, immediately he won, came out to declare his support for President Tinubu. But as for me, I am not prepared to support anybody.

“I personally haven’t seen anybody in the past. Yes, I have supported Atiku before when we were in PDP, and I even supported in 2015 when APC first did the merger. My late uncle was part of the APC, so I campaigned then.

“But right now, I don’t have a presidential candidate. It might change, sha. It’s not going to be APC, but everybody should have their own,” he said.

Nollywood actor, Uzor Arukwe, has shared his views on marriage, stating that he has never been a strong advocate for the institution because he believes women bear more responsibilities and challenges in the union.

The actor made this known during an interview on the In My Opinion podcast, where he discussed societal expectations surrounding marriage and the pressure often placed on women.

According to Arukwe, women go through pregnancy and childbirth, take their husbands’ surnames and shoulder several other responsibilities associated with building a family.

He explained that these demands have influenced his perspective on marriage, adding that society is gradually recognising that a woman’s identity and worth are not defined by her marital status.

He said: “I’ve never really been an advocate for marriage because I feel like it is more tasking for the woman. She’s the one who bears the children, takes the man’s last name, and has to deal with a lot of things. So, I feel society is now beginning to catch on to the fact that marriage doesn’t define or make a woman.

“Growing up, people would ask you why you weren’t married at 25 or 30 and talk about how they already had five children by that age. Now, there are even women who don’t want to have children. I’ve met at least two or three.”

Nigerian gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has reacted to the death of music minister, Toluwanisings.

DAILY POST reports that Toluwanisings slumped and died on Wednesday after being rejected by eight hospitals.

Following reports on the circumstances surrounding his death, netizens have called out government over the country’s poor health system while some attached his death to spiritual attack.

Reacting to the development in an Instagram post on Friday, Bassey, who said he never met Toluwanisings, explained that he has heard of his great ministration.

Expressing sadness, Bassey stated that the deceased is now in a better place with God.

“Seen and heard about the passing of this brother, Tolusings. Not someone I’ve met before. But I’ve heard how well and great He was doing in His music ministry. Always painful to hear and see young people pass at their prime.

“But as a child of God we believe He is in a better place. I pray strength and comfort for His immediate family, friends and loved ones. It is well, in Jesus’ name,” Bassey stated.

Nathaniel Bassey reacts to death of gospel singer, Toluwanisings

Nigerian gospel singers, Tope Alabi, Yinka Alaseyori, Bidemi Olaoba, Peterson and Ebuka Songs have mourned the death of their colleague, Toluwanisings.

DAILY reports that Toluwanisings slumped at his Ibadan residence on Wednesday while about taking his children to school.

According to his PA, Babadunni Gbolabo, the singer died after being rejected by seven hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State.

While tagging the incident as a big shock, Tope Alabi wrote, “This is such a big shock! I still can’t wrap my head around this. It hurts, but I will not sorrow as those who have no hope. I find comfort in knowing that a saint has joined the angels.

“Toluwanisings, rest on, dear one, in the bosom of your Lord. May God comfort and strengthen your family, friends, and colleagues. You will forever be remembered.”

Yinka Alaseyori in a post on Instagram wrote, “Even in our pain, Lord we judge you faithful. It is well. Rest Easy Soldier.”

Bidemi Olaoba posted on Instagram, “Lord, we judge You faithful, even in moments like this when words fail us and our hearts are heavy. Even when we do not understand, we choose to trust You.

“Even through the tears, we hold on to Your unfailing love. Lord, we still judge You faithful.”

Ebuka Songs wrote on his Instagram page, “Ko si kan kan ninu aye (there’s nothing in this world).

“I Genuinely don’t have words since the news of our beloved brother broke to me yesterday, but in all of it Lord we Judge you Faithful

“Today flight felt very different, became moment of deep reflection and truly all I can say is there’s nothing in this world. Stay focused to your assignment. My Condolences to the families and friends of our dearest brother.”

Sharing a broken heart emoji alongside one of the deceased’s songs, singer Peterson wrote, “TOLUUUUUU0000000000UUUUU.”

Singer Busola Oke, better known as Eleyele, wrote on her page, “Why do good people leave so soon, Toluwanisings this is painful, your humility, talent, love for others and dedication to the kingdom’s project is priceless. It is well Great Soldier, rest in power.”

Social media personality, Gehgeh, has accused VeryDarkMan of treating Davido as an enemy because of his friendship with Burna Boy, questioning why the activist threatened to “wash him down” if he speaks on Nigerian politics again.

Geh Geh made the remarks in a video while advising VeryDarkMan to stop attacking Davido over his political choices, arguing that the singer has the same right as any Nigerian to support a candidate of his choice.

“VeryDarkMan’s relationship with Burna Boy is making him see Davido as his enemy,” Geh Geh said.

He compared the situation to the period when streamer Carter Efe was close to Davido and allegedly began attacking VeryDarkMan, arguing that VDM was now treating Davido’s rivals as his own because of the support he receives from Burna Boy.

Gehgeh condemned VDM’s reported warning to Davido, saying: “That statement is wrong in all ramifications. You’re not more Nigerian than Davido.”

He added that supporting a relative or friend in politics was a choice many Nigerians could make, arguing that Davido had done nothing wrong by backing a candidate.

“If my elder brother is competing for any political party, should I leave my brother and support someone I don’t know?” he asked.

Geh Geh urged VeryDarkMan to reconsider his comments, warning that he might later regret ignoring the advice.

Gehgeh accuses VDM of threatening Davido over Burna Boy feud

Amid the backlash trailing singer, Davido over his political stance, his logistics manager, Israel DMW, has declared support for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 election.

Israel made his position known in a post on his Instagram handle on Friday, where he shared a picture of Atiku.

He wrote, “It is always far better, when a northern Nigeria rules. 15 trillion contract to one person alone?

“I’m voting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. INEC, should please allow Nigerians to freely choose whoever they want to govern them in January 2027. A good name is far better than money. Nigerians should also please disregard the 2.5m votes coming out from Edo State.

“Adams Oshiomole remains the most loved and widely accepted governor in Edo State, wining 18 over 18, he could not deliver 500k votes to his party. His party failed to win in Edo two times during the presidential elections.”

Luna Winter didn’t start off with an agency or a label, or even with the belief that anyone would pay attention to what she produced. Her first venture into the world of online content came through a livestream she nearly talked herself out of doing. 

Nowadays, Luna, also known as “Milkiwifey,” has built an organic Instagram following of roughly 700,000. What also stands out is the geographical and cultural reach of the audience the German creator has built, spanning the United States, Latin America, especially Mexico, and the German-speaking world. It wasn’t a polished career plan that led to that audience. It grew out of the interests that Luna had been exploring privately for years.

From Private Hobby to Public Content

Luna was a fan of anime and games from an early age. Pokémon and Sailor Moon were among her earliest interests, while cosplay became a private form of expression for her when she was a teenager. She stitched costumes, transformed into characters, and went to conventions as a fan. She didn’t know she would eventually be able to build a life around those costumes. 

The first big shift was when Luna chose to livestream in her early twenties. Going public itself was a challenge. She had been cosplaying privately for years and was afraid that people would laugh at her or that no one would pay attention. However, viewers did show up. Luna began building an early community through streaming, creating the first momentum in her online journey.

Knowing When to Change Direction

Luna had momentum, but streaming didn’t feel like the right direction for her. The regular schedule of performing live week after week was quietly wearing her down. Although streaming seemed to be working from the outside, it didn’t feel right to Luna.

Instead of continuing down that path, Luna walked away and concentrated on cosplay.

“The hardest decision wasn’t starting. It was quitting the thing that was finally working, because I could feel it wasn’t me,” Luna says. “Everyone tells you to push through. Nobody tells you when to let go.”

That choice took her career path toward the creative work she’d been doing for years, even before going online. Her high-production, detail-focused transformations of anime and gaming characters soon reached audiences outside Germany.

Overcoming Cultural and Geographical Barriers

One of the unique facets of Luna Winter’s development has been her international audience. One way to reach viewers beyond Germany was her cosplay. Comedy provided another. Luna started making comedic short-form videos about German language and culture. The content connected with a large audience in the United States. 

That content became an unexpected bridge between her German identity and American viewers. Around 20% of Luna’s audience is in the USA today. She also has a strong audience in Latin America, especially Mexico, and in the German-speaking world. In total, she has reached roughly 700,000 followers on Instagram. She built that following organically and entirely independently, without an agency or label behind her rise.

Personality Behind the Numbers

The size of the audience only tells part of Luna’s story. Her style of cosplay is not just to model a costume but to perform. She acts and brings a theatrical, high-energy presence to her transformations. The same personality also connects her cosplay with her comedy about German language and culture. Although the formats are different, both reflect Luna’s high-energy and theatrical approach to performance. 

It’s a way of doing things that is based on her long-standing interests. As a kid and teenager, Luna was an anime and gaming enthusiast and private cosplayer. She came from the culture long before she developed an online presence.

Building the Next Stage Independently

Luna’s goals are not just confined to what she has already built. She would like to take her cosplay further with more video, more performance and increasingly ambitious builds. Her acting instinct is expected to remain an important part of that development. In the longer term, she sees herself growing from being considered a “cosplayer” into a broader pop-culture creator and on-camera performer. Continuing to grow the international community around her work is also a part of that goal.

For Luna Winter, reaching roughly 700,000 Instagram followers did not follow a conventional path. Her career grew from a private teenage interest in cosplay, an uncertain first livestream, a decision to walk away from a format that no longer felt right, and a choice to focus on the creative work that had always interested her. 

The outcome is an international following that Luna built on her own terms, without an agency or label behind her rise.
