Afrobeats singer, Qing Madi has accused her former record label boss, Joy Tongo, the CEO of JTon Music, of forging her signature and stealing from her.

The ‘American Love’ crooner made the allegation while claiming that her former record label was out to sabotage her career after they brought multiple songs from her new album ‘Barely Legal” down from streaming platform over alleged breach of contract. 

Speaking during a recent TikTok livestream, Qing Madi claimed her former record label is cutting through “the corners” to sabotage her after she defeated their $2-million lawsuit in court.

“She [Joy Tongo] stole from me, did a bunch of weird things like forging my signature. She sued me for $2M & she lost the case. She took down ‘Pepper Me’, I worked with my team to prove it’s an illegal takedown. They went through the corners again to take down the project,” the singer lamented.

She called on fans to assist in speaking against the alleged injustice, stressing that she was getting exhausted by the ongoing struggles with her former label. 

Meanwhile, Joy Tongo has responded to Qing Madi’s allegations, debunking them as “false claims.”

Tongo denied forging Madi’s signature or stealing from her.

She explained that the case Qing Madi claimed to have won was still ongoing, adding that the injunction is why the record label can issue a legal takedown of her songs or projects. 

“Also, the injunction is ruling is why we can issue a legal takedown now, what case have you won? Because last time I checked the case still hasn’t gone to trial,” Tongo added in a post on her Instagram page.

Popular Nigerian gospel musician, Yinka Alaseyori, has publicly apologized to Nigerians over remarks on the abducted school children in Oyo state.

DAILY POST reports that bandits invaded Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15 2026 and abducted 7 teachers and several students.

A few hours after the abduction, the gunmen beheaded one of the teachers in a scary viral video online.

The attack has raised concerns over insecurity in schools and educational institutions nationwide, 

Following the government’s inability to secure the release of the kidnapped victims, Labour Union, parents, and many Nigerians have continued to protest across Nigeria.

Reacting to the development in a video on Monday, Yinka Alaseyori who noted that the government is working on the children’s release, urged Nigerians to support president Bola Tinubu and the security agencies with prayers.

Following her remarks, many users including celebrities took to social media to call the singer out and criticize her for not being realistic, insisting that insecurity requires decisive government action rather than religious appeals.

“Good day everyone, I did a video of about 1 and half hour two days ago, praying for the kidnapped children, grieving families, government parastatal, the military, Nigeria land, and everybody in pain. But when I woke up yesterday I discovered that some well meaning Nigerians are feeling offended because I made them feel unseen or their voices unheard.

“You know me too well that I will never make anybody feel like that. I discovered that the trending video was cut out of the video I made. Mothers, please don’t be angry with me. I begged you in the name of Jesus Christ, you will never bury your children. I beg you in God’s name, please forgive me if I ever speak as if I’m insensitive”, she said.

Senegalese-American singer Akon has said musicians are not as wealthy as many assumed.

He claimed that contrary to the flamboyant aesthetics and luxurious lifestyles that many artists flaunt on social media and music videos, a lot of them are not financially stable.

Speaking in an interview with Hip Hop Eye, Akon explained that music is lucrative but it is the executives and those at the backends who make more money and not the artists.

“In the music industry, the artist is the last to get paid. He is the broke one but he is the most famous. If you want to be broke and famous, be the artist.

“But if you want to make real money go to other sectors of music business, like the producer, songwriter, manager, agent and attorney. There are so many areas in the entertainment field that you can really maximise,” he said.

Popular Nigerian Fuji musician, Remi Aluko, has disclosed that he can no longer see.

He made the disclosure in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV.

Speaking about the cause of his predicament, the singer stated that he has been battling glaucoma for years.

While giving an update on the current state of his eyes, Remi Aluko, who had undergone eye surgery in the past, noted that “there’s no difference between me and a blind person.”

“I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself; I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now, but no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down.

“Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed,” he said.

Veteran Nigerian filmmaker and comedian, Okiki Adesina, popularly known as Janmole, is dead.

The actor reportedly died in a ghastly car accident on Monday.

Filmmaker and President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN, Bolaji Amusan, widely known as Mr Latin, announced the tragic incident on his Instagram page on Tuesday.

“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace.

“May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen,” he wrote.

DAILY POST reports that Okiki Adesina died nearly four years after escaping a fire accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Ivy Ifeoma, wife of Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy, has sparked reactions after sharing her view on relationship, money and financial independence. 

Speaking in a video broadcast shared via her TikTok page, Ifeoma advised single ladies not to make marrying a wealthy man their primary life goal.

She explained while marrying into a wealthy family can create opportunities, a woman focus should be own building her own financial stability. 

She also shared that contrary to the speculations that she married her husband Paul Okoye for money due to the wide age gap between them, she was already a millionaire before meeting the singer.

Ivy said, “This is my take on the idea of marrying a rich man and before you come for me, know that I was a millionaire before I met this man [Paul Okoye].

“Marrying a rich man should not be anybody’s primary goal. Why would you even want to have a primary goal of marrying someone because they are rich? At the end of the day, it is their money, not your money. 

“Don’t get me wrong, marrying rich is a very good add-on because it can open doors of opportunities for you. But what I will tell you to do as a woman is to get rich.”

She added that rich folks prefer ambitious and industrious women, urging single ladies to invest in themselves.

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has said he can’t condemn the insecurity in the country, revealing that he’s afraid the authorities might arrest him if he becomes vocal about the situation.

The Zazu crooner disclosed this while reacting to British-Nigerian rapper Skepta’s appeal to Nigerian celebrities to speak up against the worsening economic hardship and escalating insecurity in the country.

Portable argued that it is safer for Nigerians in the diaspora to condemn the insecurity because the Nigerian government “can’t arrest” them from abroad.

Speaking in a video broadcast, he said, “Skepta, God bless you for remembering and speaking for Nigeria. However, you saying we, Nigerian celebrities, should speak up and demand justice, do you want the Nigerian government to pick us? They will arrest us if we speak up.

“This government is oppressing us. Some of us are still being persecuted over our past remarks. We need help. We need support, not just prayers. Nigerians in diaspora should speak up because Nigerian government can’t arrest them from abroad. Those of us in Nigeria, if we speak, we will be in big trouble. They might even seize our passports if we, celebrities say what we are not supposed to say.

“So, I’m only concerned about how I can make money and better my own life. It is not like celebrities don’t care about Nigeria, but if we speak, they will persecute us. A lot of us are even tired of what is happening in Nigeria. But we can’t speak up. If we were in abroad, it would be safer to speak up.”

Some musicians have joined the call for the rescue of the pupils, students and teachers kidnapped by gunmen from Baptist Nursery and Primary School (Yawota), Community Grammar School, and L.A Primary School (Esiele), all in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, on May 15, 2026.

DAILY POST reports that 39 students and seven teachers were abducted, while two teachers have been killed, sparking a national outrage. 

Reacting, singer, Victony demanded that President Bola Tinubu should the insecurity in the country and rescue all kidnap victims, especially children. 

On his X handle, he wrote, “Save our children & Put an end to this mess @officialABAT.”

In a similar vein, Davido said he is deeply saddened by the incident and the ongoing sufferings of the victims in captivity. 

He stated that the current insecurity must not be allowed to continue.

Reacting to the report of the victims’ ongoing ordeals in the abduction camp via his Snapchat page, the singer wrote, “I’m weak. God pls take control. We can’t continue like this… my heart goes out to the victims and family .. this is messed up”

On his part, Timaya released a statement calling on the Presidency to take urgent action to tackle the escalating insecurity in the country. 

“We appeal to the Government for even greater urgency, collaboration, and action in addressing the growing security challenges facing many parts of our country,” the statement read in part.

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he plans to buy back his music masters from his foreign record label, Sony, before his retirement. 

Speaking in an episode of The Long Form podcast, Davido emphasised that ownership in the music industry is very important. 

He disclosed that he wants to buy his masters and assign his music royalties to his children when he retires.

“I have a good music contract. But the most important thing is ownership. I plan to get my masters back from Sony soon. With that I can give each of my kid songs they will keep earning royalties from even after I retire,” he said. 

Davido added that the business side of music should be taken seriously.

Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has engaged in a heated exchange on social media after a citizen reacted to a post in which he expressed concern over the state of affairs in Nigeria.

The remarks were contained in a post shared on Davido’s official page.

According to the singer, entertainers, including himself, have not done enough to speak on issues affecting Nigerians.

“I can’t lie, we entertainers… we dey fuck up, I won’t lie, including me. We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go,” Davido wrote.

The post drew a reaction from a social media user identified as Princess Luna, who questioned the sincerity of the singer’s comments.

“Na God go punish you and your family. Go and do that performative rubbish in your City Boys group chat and get out of my face with all this pretentious nonsense. Na foolish Nigerians I blame,” she wrote.

Responding, Davido denied belonging to any political group and defended his record of speaking on national issues.

“I no dey part of any City Boy group. When I called out the government on American media, you guys rained curses on me.

“I’ve been friends with ST for years and that’s where it stops, and I call and complain to him all the time, even in person.

“God punish your generation,” the singer wrote.
