Former Besiktas midfielder, Sinan Engin, has told Galatasaray to treat Super Eagles attacker, Victor Osimhen, as a precious gem.
The Nigeria international has had an explosive start to the season, netting six goals and providing two assists in merely four matches.
Nevertheless, there are concerns for Galatasaray as they prepare for their Champions League encounter with Sporting CP, particularly after Osimhen was forced to leave the field due to injury during the first half of Friday’s 3-2 victory against Basaksehir FK.
The preliminary assessment indicates that the former African Footballer of the Year may have sustained a groin injury after he requested to be substituted.
Engin has cautioned that the manner in which Galatasaray handles their star centre-forward could significantly influence his performance throughout the season.
While speaking on the Asist Analiz YouTube channel via Haber Sari kirmizi, he said, “Galatasaray without Osimhen is akin to a vehicle running on gas!
“It’s comparable to installing a gas conversion kit on a brand-new car for fuel economy! You would tell the driver, ‘You purchased this car, and now you’re worried about fuel costs?’
“It’s a similar situation. His performance will decline. Galatasaray must treat Osimhen as if he were a precious gem.”
Osimhen is anticipated to undergo an MRI scan prior to Wednesday’s journey to Portugal to ascertain the full extent of his injury.
