Security personnel have reportedly averted a possible religious crisis in the Jauro Gana/Runde area of Jalingo, Taraba State, following a confrontation involving some youths.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, reportedly started as a fight among youths before escalating into an incident in which a mosque and a church were allegedly attacked.
Several people were said to have sustained injuries during the confrontation, while tension reportedly spread across the neighbourhood, raising fears of a possible escalation along religious lines.
Security personnel were deployed to the area and intervened to contain the situation and prevent further violence.

The intervention reportedly helped restore calm, with normalcy said to have returned to the area at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Security operatives who spoke to DAILY POST, said residents have been urged to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of heightening tension or worsening the situation.
