Plateau United has announced that their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 38 fixture against Kano Pillars will be played behind closed doors.
The Peace Boys made the announcement in a statement on Friday.
Plateau United stated that the decision was reached due to security reasons.
Gbenga Ogunbote’s side will lock horns with Kano Pillars at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
Plateau United need a win in the game to secure their top-flight status, while Kano Pillars must avoid defeat to escape relegation.
Kano Pillars sit in 10th position on the NPFL table with 48 points, while Plateau United are 12th with 47 points.
Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists have already been relegated to the second tier, with two more teams set to join them.

Kun Khalifat FC forward Gabriel Lekan says the team is determined to learn from its mistakes and improve in the remaining Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixtures as they fight to avoid relegation.

The Owerri-based currently occupy the bottom spot on the NPFL table with 25 points.

Kun Khalifat FC have recorded six wins, seven draws and 13 defeats in 26 league matches.

Gabriel said they are focused and mentally strong to come out of their difficulties.

British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has criticized Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta over his decision to substitute the “Gunners best player”, Eberechi Eze, against Manchester City in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

Arsenal lost the game 2-1.

Erling Haaland scored the winner for Pep Guardiola’s side in the second half of the match.

Arteta has opted to substitute Eze for Leandro Trossard in the 75th minute of the encounter.

However, Morgan was not pleased with Arteta’s decision, labelling it ‘ridiculous.’

In a post on X, Morgan wrote, “Eze off???? That’s ridiculous, he’s been our best player.”

The outcome of the match means Arsenal are now just three points above Man City in the Premier League table.

The Cityzens also have a game in hand.
