Urgent SOS from NIPSN as hyperactive children face danger over uncompleted fence
There is panic at the Network for Inclusion of People with Special Needs (NIPSN) located at Ariori Village, Ojebode, along Akanran / Ijebu-Igbo Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, where vulnerable children are now sleeping in rooms flooded by rain after the roof of their hostel was blown off.

The Centre, founded out of deep passion and sacrifice by Mrs. Sekinat Hammed after her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has become a beacon of hope for Persons with Disabilities, offering education, rehabilitation, vocational training, sports, social skills and advocacy for inclusion. That beacon is now in danger of going out.
In an exclusive, emotional SOS to Hotsource News, Mrs. Hammed raised alarm over two life-threatening challenges now confronting the home.
“Our immediate needs at NIPSN are the repair of the roof of our hostel and the completion of our perimeter fence. The roof of our hostel has been blown off, and the rain we have been experiencing these days is entering the rooms directly. I even recorded a video of the situation and shared it online, hoping that someone would respond, but unfortunately, nobody has said anything so far,” she lamented.
She said the second danger is even more frightening.
“Some of the children in our care are hyperactive and may wander away if they are not properly protected. Without a complete fence, their safety is at risk. Honestly, I am worried and don’t know what else to do.”
THE TWO URGENT NEEDS:
1. HOSTEL ROOF REPAIR: The hostel is completely roofless. Rain pours directly into the children’s rooms, destroying beds and property.
2. PERIMETER FENCE COMPLETION: The fence is incomplete, exposing hyperactive children to the risk of wandering off, getting lost or being injured.
Mrs. Hammed is now appealing to the Oyo State Government, the Federal Government, well-meaning Nigerians, NGOs, corporate organisations and international donors to intervene immediately.
“These are urgent needs, and I would really appreciate any support, advice, or connection to someone who can help us. Our priority is to ensure that the children are safe and have a secure place to live.”
