Aston Villa will take legal action against former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, after his comments about the club.
Aston Villa made the announcement in a statement on X ahead of their Premier League match with Fulham on Saturday night.
The statement which was signed by chairman Nassef Sawiris accused Carragher of insulting “the club and their fans”.
Carragher had claimed that Aston Villa will never be at the level of Manchester United.
He also insulted the Aston Villa fans, telling them to “shut the f*ck up” insisting that the Villans will never be Man United.
The former England international stated this while calling on Manchester United to appoint Emery to replace Michael Carrick at Old Trafford if the Red Devils decide to sack their current manager.
Emery was appointed as Aston Villa manager in 2022 and his contract with the Premier League club will expire in 2029.
The Spaniard has coached clubs like Sevilla, Arsenal, Villarreal and Paris Saint-Germain in the past.
