Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez has claimed that “regular people” are more likely to find genuine love and maintain healthy relationships than celebrities.

Blaqbonez explained that “everyday” people have more stable routines which give them the opportunity to create time for their partners as opposed to celebrities whose routines are disrupted from time to time.

Speaking in a recent episode of the Ada’s Room podcast, the rapper disclosed that he finds it difficult to commit to one woman because of his lifestyle as an artiste.

“In a relationship, I care about my partner but not in a fairytale way. I don’t think I can give anybody the fairytale. I even think that the fairytale thing is fake. Human beings are just trying to not accept reality.

“My lifestyle as an artiste is part of the reasons I can’t give anyone a fairytale love. If I was an everyday-person that didn’t have to communicate with too many people, it would be easier to dedicate myself to one woman.

“Because as an everyday-person you just go to work and come back home to your woman after closing and repeat.
“You can create a routine where just one or two people challenge the routine in a year. But being an artist, people challenge your routine every day,” he explained.

Blaqbonez stated that another reason it is difficult for artists to find true love is because they hardly meet people by chance, stressing that most people who come around them are opportunistic.

“It is really difficult to find genuine relationship. Being an artiste, everybody you meet engineered themselves to be there to meet you. It is crazy because you supposed to just live and meet radom people,” he added.

Singer Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, has defended him amid social media backlash.

DAILY POST reports that Burna Boy has been criticised online for being arrogant.

The development came following the singer’s recent attack on Wizkid’s DJ, DJ Tunez at a Lagos club. The incident further led to an online fight between Wizkid and Burna Boy.

Reacting to the controversy, many Nigerians criticised Burna for always getting physical with people, tagging him arrogant.

However, defending the singer behavior during an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels TV, Bose Ogulu stated that she doesn’t mind being seen as arrogant.

When asked about Burna Boy, she said If knowing his worth and carrying himself as such is arrogant, then it is a good thing. “And I can’t apologize for that.”

Ebuka asked: “do you mind that Burna Boy is seen as arrogant? Do you mind that you are seen as arrogant with the way you run Burna brand?

She responded: “I don’t mind honestly, I don’t mind at all. I mean any adjective they want to attach to you is ok. The thing is who are you? If knowing your worth and carrying yourself as such is arrogant, then it is a good thing. And I can’t apologize for that. Because I think we were born into a world where we were expected to put our heads down.

“First is the color of your skin, the color of your passport, for me, my gender. So, I don’t understand the concept of that life. I understand that if I know something, I know it and I expect you to realise that I know it. And if you don’t realize that I know it, then, put me to the test”, she said.

Celebrity lawyer and human rights activist, Chukwuma Daniels, has said that the recent wedding of Adaobi Alagwu has rekindled public discussion around her past dispute involving businessman Tunde Ayeni.

Daniels further observed that while public interest is expected, caution should be exercised when revisiting past events, especially where accounts remain contested.

“Adaobi dusted herself off, she kept her head high even when the smear campaigns were at their worst.

“This piece is not just about one woman’s wedding. This is a loud reminder to every young girl currently “managing” an old uncle with money: the bill always comes due. Controversial self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing CEO, has issued an apology to Nigerians over the ongoing controversy surrounding her health condition, while maintaining that she did not mislead the public about her illness.

DAILY POST had reported that she was under scrutiny over her alleged claim of having cancer, for which she solicited financial assistance from the public for the treatment of stage 4 cancer.

In a recent video shared on Monday via her official Instagram handle, she addressed her supporters, expressing regret over the backlash and confusion her situation has caused.

She also promised to make her medical records public as she continues to document her health journey.

She further stated that anyone who contributed funds and wishes to be refunded would be attended to upon request.

“Hey guys. My name is Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

I want to start by saying I am sorry, very sorry to my loved ones, fans, well-wishers, and to all Nigerians,” she said.

‘I did not lie’ – Blessing CEO apologises over health controversy

American rapper Fat Joe has sparked controversy after claiming that Afrobeats originated from Jamaica.

The rapper made the claim in a recent episode of the Joe And Jada podcast, which featured Jamaican dancehall crooner Buju Banton as a guest.

“Jamaica started Afrobeats. Even though everything comes from Africa,” he claimed.

Banton failed to correct Joe and instead chose to talk about how Panamanian rapper El General pioneered reggaeton and how it influenced other genres.

Contrary to Fat Joe’s claim, Afrobeats is widely regarded as originating from West Africa and heavily influenced by Afrobeat, which was pioneered by Nigerian music legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Buju Banton had previously accused Afrobeats artistes of stealing from Jamaican reggae and dancehall music without crediting their source.

In an interview with the Drink Champs podcast in 2024, Banton claimed that afrobeats music has no substance and would fade with time.

American rapper Fat Joe has claimed that he and others pressured Nigerian singer, BNXN, formerly known as Buju, to change his stage name.

Fat Joe explained that they bullied the Nigerian artist into changing his stage name because his former stage name, Buju, was disrespectful to Jamaican dancehall legend, Buju Banton.

The rapper disclosed this during a podcast interview featuring himself and Buju Banton.

“There is a fake guy in Africa using the Buju name, we dissed him on tv, shut him down, he changed his name. I told him there is only one Buju Banton,” he said.

Buju Banton stated that his stage name is special to him because it was given to him by his mother unlike many artists, who coined their names or got it from friends.

He explained that his mother named Buju but he added the suffice Banton in honour of a Jamaican DJ he admired so much.

“Most people [artists] get their names from their friends or coin it. But my name came from my mom. Then I added Banton due to my admiration for Burr Banton,” he stated.

DAILY POST recalls that BNXN initially started his music career with the stage name “Buju” but later changed it to his current name due to alleged copyright issues.

Popular Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti, has claimed that IShowSpeed’s recent tour in Africa was a spy job for Elon Musk.

Seun ,who made this claim in a viral video online, disclosed that he just found out about the information two days ago.

Narrating how he was earlier contacted by the tour promoter and producer, the singer claimed that Elon Musk sponsored IShowSpeed tour to find out “where his satellites have reached across Africa.”

He said, “You can’t know the deals they’re making behind the scenes. You can’t know the people they’re talking to behind the scenes. You just think they’re coming to talk to you but they all have agender.

“After IShowSpeed’s promoter and producer of his African tour called that we want to see you and I agreed. But they didn’t call me again or come to the shrine again when they reached Nigeria, and the promoter is my friend but I don’t want to mention the name.

“I called and sent messages but none of them responded. After the whole thing, he started sending me some kind of yeye message. Well e no even concern me too much because I don’t really mind, so I let it go.

“Only to find out the day before yesterday that Elon Musk was the one that sponsored the whole thing to know where his satellite don reach for Africa. That’s why they were visiting bushy areas. So, all that was a spy job for Elon Musk”, he claimed.

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is currently receiving backlash from his fans over a seemingly disparaging post he made against former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.

The actor had on Tuesday morning posted on his official X handle, declaring that Obi’s presidential ambition is dead on arrival.

According to Yul, “any political party Peter Obi joins will scatter. Whatever he’s doing with ADC is dead on arrival.

“A total waste of time. It’s not a physical problem. It’s deeper than that.

“I’m surprised he doesn’t know this already. Or maybe he knows but chooses to ignore it.

“But the truth remains the truth. Peter Obi cannot be President of Nigeria now”.

The post, however, didn’t go well with fans, who stormed the comment section to express their anger.

2027: Fans knock Yul Edochie over disparaging post against Peter Obi

Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, DeeOne, has ignited controversy after alleging that majority of protests in Nigeria are politically motivated.

Speaking on Vanguard’s podcast on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, DeeOne claimed that “about 90 per cent of protests in Nigeria are politically sponsored,” arguing that many demonstrations are influenced by powerful interests rather than purely driven by citizens’ grievances.

According to him, politicians often operate behind the scenes by funding or backing protest movements to push specific agendas or discredit their opponents.

He noted that this trend makes it difficult for Nigerians to clearly identify genuine protests from those orchestrated for political gain.

DeeOne said. “There’s always an agenda behind most of them.”

His comments have since triggered mixed reactions across social media, with some Nigerians supporting his claim.

But a social media user @NaijaCitizenX, disagreed, saying: “Saying 90% of protests are sponsored is wild. People are hungry, frustrated and tired. Not everything is politics.”

Sharon Adeleke, sister of Afrobeats star. David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has claimed that the singer introduced luxury and flamboyant lifestyle into the Nigerian music industry.

She made the claim during the singer’s Apple Radio live takeover with family and friends to celebrate his 15th anniversary in the music industry.

“I think that David is one of the people that started all this being flashy and showing off and making it cool, in Nigeria,” she said.

Davido inferred: “When we came to Nigeria, Mo’Hits did it with like having a crew but you see how in America, every successful musician has a crew, his guys and all that.”

Sharon insisted: “You brought that. Nobody used to do that.”

Davido has repeatedly admitted being inspired by the defunct Mo’Hits, which was led by Don Jazzy and D’banj.

In previous interviews, he shared how he was inspired to do music by the Mo’Hits crew and spending sometime in their mansion when absconded from home after flouting his father’s order not to pursue music.
