Nollywood actor Zuby Michael has sparked reactions after calling on Christians in Jos, Plateau State, to flee the city.

Michael made the call while reacting to the terrorist attack in the Angwan Rukuba area of the city on Sunday, where dozens of people were reportedly killed.

On his Instagram page, he wrote, “Christians should leave Jos.”

He, however, added that nemesis would eventually catch up with the terrorists.

His post elicited mixed reactions, with many arguing that it isn’t a solution, especially as most of the residents of the state are Christians.

Some of the reactions include: Jerryluck wrote, “Leave their ancestral land and go where? If it was happening in our Igbo land, would you advise we leave to the west or north? Christian communities should simply help them fight back. They need resources and support to fight back.”

Riyanxeally wrote, “Thank you, Eze, for always speaking loudly, but most of the people there have built everything in Jos. Where will they start from again? The government needs to do better.”

RechealJoseph said, “We will never leave our God-given land for anyone. We shall overcome whatsoever the enemies have planned in Jesus’ name.”

Ifemeludike wrote, “For what naw? Plateau originally is a Christian state. This is not even about religion but about the people being brave enough to push back bullies and terrorists and demand a proactive government. Most importantly, to vote for the right leaders.”

Ndagima Adu added, “The day we take religion and tribalism aside, we will start to see changes. We need to wake up and take our country back from bad government.”

A cross section of Nigerian celebrities have spoken out against the escalating insecurity in the country.

Singer and half of P-Square duo, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, while reacting to the attack on Christians on Palm Sunday in Jos, Plateau State, where he was born, said Nigerian are not angry enough over the insecurity in the country.

On his X handle, he wrote, “We are not Angry enough !!!
May be na until God come down for earth.”

On his part, comedian and activist Mr Macaroni accused the President Bola Tinubu administration of being “incompetent and irresponsible”.

He claimed that the President is “running the most useless government in the history of useless governments,” stressing that Nigerians “wake up everyday to lament one tragedy of the other.”

In another X post, Mr Macaroni said he can’t fathom why the President hasn’t address the nation even after “40 Nigerians have been confirmed dead” in Sunday’s terrorists’ attack in Jos.

He added that the current administration has zero sense of accountability and responsibility.

Similarly, actor Kunle Remi has urged Nigerians to tag pictures and videos of the insecurity and hardship in Nigeria in their birthday messages to President Tinubu, who recently turned 74.

Speaking in a video broadcast, the movie star said, “There is a video of a woman in pain crying over the loss of someone, that is the image we should use if you want to wish President Tinubu a happy birthday. 15 hours ago there was a disaster in Plateau, that is the celebratory image we should use. Thank you. Happy birthday, Mr President.”

‘Nigerians not angry enough over insecurity’ – Paul Okoye, Mr Macaroni, Kunle Remi

Veteran Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has appealed to her colleagues in the movie industry still supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, amid the escalating insecurity in the country to reconsider their stance for the sake of posterity.

Speaking in a video broadcast, Aiyeola urged her colleagues not to let money, influence, and affluence cloud their conscience.

The actress made the appeal while reacting to the terrorist attack on Christians on Palm Sunday in Jos, Plateau State.

She said, “We woke up to another news of terrorist attack in Jos. But unfortunately, it is not trending as usual. It is another political season and I would like Nigerians on ground and those with voices on social media to search through their consciences and do the right thing.

“My colleagues, everything shouldn’t be about money, influence and affluence. Let us allow our conscience to lead us and do the right thing. My wonderful colleagues, I’m not throwing a shade at anybody and nobody can tell you how to swing politically but you should think of your generation’s future.”

Nollywood movie giants, Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

The development came a few hours after Funke publicly snubbed Toyin during Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere on Sunday.

Reacting to the snub, Toyin vowed never to greet Funke again, stating that she has unfollowed her.

A check by DAILY POST confirmed that Funke has also unfollowed Toyin.

The new drama is coming less than a year after the duo rekindled their relationship after years of rivalry and feud.

Singer Mayorkun has debunked viral reports of a fire outbreak at his residence in Lagos.

It was earlier reported that the singer lost his house to a fire outbreak that occurred on Saturday night while he was at home with his children.

The news sparked public concerns especially among his fans and associates.

The singer however dismissed the news in a post titled ‘Mayorkun’s statement on fire incident’, shared by his mother, actress Toyin Adewale, on Instagram.

Questioning the motive of those behind the reports, Mayorkun asked, “Why would you do this? Don’t you verify your news before posting? This is seriously unfair. My family will never cry, no evil shall befall us IJN. Please, learn to do better.”

While appreciating the public for their concerns, Mayorkun’s mother added, “Thanks for checking on us. Thanks for your calls and messages. I truly appreciate. We Shall Not Cry Nor Mourn Over Our Children. No Evil Shall Befall Anyone Of Us All Ijmn.”

Famous Nigerian actress, Toyin Abraham, has vowed never to exchange pleasantries with colleague, Funke Akindele again.

Toyin stated this after being snubbed by Funke in public.

DAILY POST reports that Funke had during the premiere of actress Iyabo Ojo’s movie on Sunday night, refused to answer Toyin Abraham’s greetings despite tapping her hand and mentioning her name.

Toyin was heard saying “Aunty Funke, good evening ma.”

In response, Funke completely ignored her, and looked away despite tapping her.

Toyin who felt embarrassed by the incident, however walked away from her.

The development sparked controversy on social media with many users condemning Funke Akindele’s negative energy.

However, reacting to the viral video under a post on Instagram, Toyin disclosed that she has unfollowed Funke and also vowed never to greet her again.

Toyin wrote in a now deleted comment “I have unfollowed her, God forbid bad things. If I ever greet her again that means I’m a bastard.”

Controversial media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has insinuated that religion is undermining the development of Nigeria.

Speaking in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Daddy Freeze claimed that religion doesn’t produce results.

He argued that irreligious countries like Japan are more developed and have better standards of living, adding that Nigeria has the shortest life expectancy in the world despite being one of the most religious countries.

“How is religion working for us?,” he asked.

“My problem with religion is – it has no results. Where is the prosperity? Where is the love? You say God loves us because we are religious so how come the Japanese are the ones enjoying their own heaven on earth? They are developed.

“We don’t have anything but we have this ‘God that favours us.’ However, when we truly list the things what we say favour is – prosperity, health… Did you know Nigeria has the shortest life expectancy in the world according to the 2026 statistics -54 years?

“We pay more tithes than taxes in this country yet our prayers and sacrifices don’t seem to reflect on the condition of our nation,” Daddy Freeze expressed.

There was a moment of tension on Sunday, as Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele, snubbed her colleague Toyin Abraham.

The incident took place at Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere.

Funke was seated at the same table with Iyabo and another actress, Mercy Aigbe, when Toyin came over to greet them.

Although Iyabo and Mercy responded to her greetings, Funke looked away, completely ignoring her.

Toyin was left embarrassed by the incident and walked away from the table.

The viral video on social media has led to mixed reactions from fans.

Many feel that Funke is right to keep a grudge with Toyin, after she agreed with veteran film maker Kunle Afolayan’s criticism.

Others believe Funke should have responded and kept it professional.

Nigerian singer, Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola, popularly known as Liya, has revealed that her decision to leave Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) label was driven by a desire for personal and professional growth.

Liya, who became the first female artiste signed to Davido’s record label in October 2020, officially parted ways with the label in 2023.

Speaking during an interview on the show Wahala with Josy Anne, the singer disclosed that her time at the label came with emotional challenges that significantly affected her wellbeing.

According to her, the period was marked by depression, exhaustion and health struggles, which ultimately pushed her to make the difficult decision to step away.

“Why did I leave? I just wanted more for myself, as a person and as an artist.

“It was sad, it was depressing, I was tired, I was sick, but it was a decision that I had to make for myself,” Liya said.

The singer also addressed the public criticism she faced while signed to the label, noting that many people misunderstood her situation and accused her of being unproductive.

“They called me names people saying she’s lazy, she doesn’t know what she’s doing. They’re just pouring money on her, and she’s not doing anything,” she said.

Liya further revealed that the challenges she faced during that period affected her presence on social media.

She explained that she did not personally manage her Instagram account for more than two years, leaving the responsibility to her manager.

Despite the difficulties, the singer expressed gratitude to her manager for his patience and support throughout the period.

“He was tired, but I’m so glad he understood. He never pushed me or forced me,” she added.

Liya gained recognition after signing to DMW in 2020 and releasing songs such as “Melo,” “Adua,” and “Lakiriboto.”

Popular Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola, has stated that she doesn’t feel like someone who is married.

The actress made the remarks during her recent interview on the African A-List podcast.

Discussing her marriage to Kayode Salako, she described her husband as the “definition of peace.”

Speaking about the freedom she enjoys in her marriage, Daramola said, “I don’t feel like I’m married. My husband is the definition of peace for me. If I tell Kayode now that I will be going to Canada tonight and will spend up to a year there, he will say bye-bye. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t love me; he just feels like he shouldn’t cage me.

“So I don’t feel like I’m married. He is my very good friend and my greatest cheerleader. When we fight, you would think that the marriage is going to end, but give us two hours, and everything will be settled,” she added.

DAILY POST reports that this comes two years after Kayode Salako confirmed his marriage to another woman, identified as Oluwafunke Oyegoke-Salako, while still married to the actress.

Defending his decision to marry another woman, he stated that he had been married to Foluke for 13 years without a biological child.

Recall that the couple got married in 2010.
