Popular Nigerian Tiktoker, Peller, has been sued for alleged verbal assault and invasion of privacy.

A Lagos-based lady identified as Osarobo Odigie initiated the legal action against Peller following their confrontation at Folixxx Lounge in Lekki-Epe Expressway.

DAILY POST recalls that Peller had shared a video of his verbal altercation with Odigie online in January and later apologized for sharing the video without her permission.

However in a new development, Odigie in a pre-action letter by Bola Osineye from FA Garrick & Co., explained that the altercation occurred on January 6, 2026, while the lady was purchasing food at the Lounge.

While accusing Peller of subjecting her to verbal abuse, Odigie, through her legal team, demanded N395 million as compensation for defamatory publication, emotional trauma, reputational harm, and additional distress caused by cyberbullying.

The legal proceedings will commence next week if their specific demands are not met.

Celebrity businessman, Olakunle Churchill, has responded to a fan who challenged him for not celebrating his wife, Rosy Meurer and Tonto Dikeh, his ex-wife, on Mother’s Day.

DAILY POST reports that the annual Mother’s Day celebration was held on Sunday, March 15 2026, to honour mothers’ legacy, influence and personal sacrifice.

While many Nigerians, including celebrities, took to social media to celebrate their wives, daughters, and mothers, Churchill, in an emotional tribute, focused on his mother without mentioning his wife, or Tonto Dikeh, with whom he recently reconciled.

The omission revived speculation of his marital crisis with Meurer. The rumours had earlier surfaced after Churchill’s reconciliation with actress Tonto Dikeh, his ex-wife.

Reacting to the development, a user @victory_onyibliss courageously questioned “Why didn’t you celebrate your wife and your ex.”

In response, Churchill urged the user to celebrate them on his behalf.

He replied “help me celebrate them.”

DAILY POST reports that Churchill had in January confirmed reconciliation with Tonto Dikeh, after which the duo have been seen in several videos and pictures.

Deborah Fasoyin, a renowned Nigerian gospel singer known for her song ‘Odun n lo sopin’, has debunked rumors of her death.

The “death” of the Christ Apostolic Church singer was widely reported on social media and some news platforms on Monday.

Reacting to the development, the 86-year-old in a video released on social media tagged the news as false.

“Great day to you everybody, I’m happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty, and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake and I know that I will finish strong with supernatural sound health.

“And I will go to my father in peace not in sickness, not in pain. And I will die at a good old age just like my father Abraham. Thank you very much,” she stated.

Nigerian skit maker and streamer, Shank Comics, has sparked a debate after claiming that comedians are richer than music artists.

During a recent livestream, he argued that a lot of people assume that musicians are richer than comedians because they flaunt their wealth unlike most of their counterparts in the comedy industry.

He claimed that Nigerian comedians Bovi and Basketmouth are richer than Afrobeats stars Asake, Wizkid, Burna Boy and other musicians, but they prefer to invest than buy exotic cars like the musicians.

“I think there is more money in comedy than music. Bovi and Basketmouth are far richer than Asake, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and other musicians, but they prefer to invest rather than buy cars.

“Comedians are very conscious of the future, so they invest more than they spend, and they don’t spend lavishly on luxuries.

“A lot of comedians can afford the luxurious automobiles Nigerian musicians are buying,” he said.

Comedians richer than musicians – Shank Comics claims

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has lamented about his poor streaming revenue despite multiple releases.

In a recent video broadcast, the Zazu crooner lamented that his revenue generation from Apple Music was too low despite releasing songs every month and having fans abroad.

He appealed to the renowned music executive Don Jazzy to assist him on how he could boost his revenue generation on streaming platforms.

Portable said, “I am in pain, I have been putting my song on Apple Music every month but the money I am generating is too low.

“They said it is because Nigerian streams are cheap but I also have fans in America and all over the world. Where is the revenue from those foreign streams?
“Don Jazzy, please, help me and teach me how to generate more money from music streams. I have Apple

“Music account but the revenue that I receive is very low. They divide my earnings into 17. Please, come and teach me how to fetch music money.

“If Don Jazzy teach me how to generate more money from streaming platforms, I would be bigger than all artistes in Nigeria.”

‘I’m in pain’ – Portable laments poor streaming revenue despite multiple releases

Nigerian artists generated over N60 billion from Spotify in 2025, the streaming platform revealed in its annual report on Monday.

The statistic shows that revenue generation by Nigerian artists grew by more than 140 per cent over the last two years.

It revealed that around 58 per cent of all royalties generated by Nigerian artists on Spotify in 2025 were generated by independent artists or labels.

According to the report, Nigerian artists generated 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours in 2025.

In the year under review, local streams of Nigerian female artists also grew by 55 per cent.

Nigerian music continued to attract global audiences, with Nigerian artists featured in nearly 320 million user playlists worldwide and over 12 million user playlists in Nigeria.

In total, more than 60 million playlists featuring Nigerian artists were created on Spotify alone in 2025.

Many Nigerians have continued to drag Nollywood stars Kunle Afolayan, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Ayo Adesanya and Remi Surutu, among others, for launching a new support group for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

This comes amid the growing economic hardship across the country.

The group ‘Eko 57 Movement’, which was launched in Lagos State on Sunday, is coordinated by actor Lege Miami.

Reacting to a video of the event, which is trending online, many Nigerians criticised the celebrities for not being honest with the situation of things across Nigeria.

Netizens warned that no celebrities should come out again to solicit financial assistance when they get ill.

While noting that mandatory real-time transmission of results is the only movement Nigeria is in need of, netizens listed poor health system, insecurity, poor electricity supply, corruption and high cost of living among other hardships faced by Nigerians under President Tinubu’s led government.

Nollywood actress Remi Surutu has thrown her support behind President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 general election.

The announcement was made during the launch of EKO57, a support group aimed at rallying public backing for Tinubu’s second term.

At the event, Surutu addressed critics who have questioned her stance, emphasizing her long-standing loyalty to Tinubu dating back to his governorship in Lagos State.

Reflecting on her experience during the 2023 elections, Surutu said she faced public criticism but remained steadfast.

“A day before the election, people tried to convince me that I was supporting someone responsible for my child’s death. I ignored it and still went out to vote the next day. Your vote is your right don’t let anyone intimidate you,” she stated.

The actress reaffirmed her commitment to the President, promising to actively campaign and vote for him.

2027: Actress Remi Surutu declares support for Tinubu

Popular Nollywood actor and producer, Segun Ogungbe, has reconciled with his estranged wife, actress Wunmi Ajiboye.

This is coming nearly three years after their messy breakup.

DAILY POST recalls that Wunmi was heavily criticised in 2023 after acknowledging MC Oluomo and ignoring Ogungbe’s presence during her mother’s burial ceremony.

The incident confirmed the rumours of the Nollywood couple’s breakup, as Wunmi was accused of having an affair with MC Oluomo, an allegation she denied.

While urging Nigerians to stop dragging her, the actress stated that Ogungbe who she shared two boys with, hasn’t paid her bride price.
