Bandits kill nine, injure eight in fresh attack on Zamfara village

At least, nine people have been killed and eight others injured after suspected bandits attacked Rumbuki village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Tuesday evening.

The incident was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst, Bakatsine.

According to the post, the attackers stormed the village and opened fire on residents, leaving several people dead and others with varying degrees of injuries.

Some residents are also said to be missing following the attack.

The post further claimed that the violence extended to nearby Nikai village, where houses were set ablaze. It also reported that three children of a respected local figure were among those killed in the attack.

“This evening, bandits stormed Rumbuki village in Bukkuyum LGA, Zamfara State. They killed nine people, injured eight residents. Several others are still missing.

“The attack also reportedly led to the burning of Nikai village, with three people said to be children of a respected local figure killed.

“How many more rural communities must suffer before urgent and effective security intervention is guaranteed?,” Bakatsine asked.
