AI could reduce poverty, but poor Africans risk being left behind – World Bank

The World Bank said economic activity in Sub-Saharan Africa is projected to edge up from 3.3 per cent in 2024 to 3.5 per cent in 2025

The financial institution said Nigeria’s developer community has recorded rapid growth since the global AI boom, noting that the country’s GitHub developer base has expanded tenfold since 2020.
