Social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, VDM, has asked organizers of South African singer, Tyla’s upcoming concert in Lagos to halt the show immediately.

VDM, who lamented ongoibg xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa, stated in a video he posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday that the concert will not happen.

According to him, the South African singer will not be allowed to profit from Nigerians, whom some South Africans have repeatedly despised.

He said, “There will be no Tyla concert in Nigeria. It is not happening. This is a warning to the organizers and the show promoters bringing Tyla to Nigeria. That show is not happening.

“Not when Chidinma Adetshina is battling deportation in South African court. Now you want to bring in Tyla and sell tickets so that Tyla will make money off Nigerians. The same Nigerians that South Africans hate so much.

“This is a warning to you, if you go ahead with that show, we will come to the venue and we will bring the show down.”

DAILY POST reports that several Nigerians have called for a total boycott of the concert to retaliate the attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

‎This comes on the heels of Tyla’s management releasing her world tour schedule, which includes a performance in Lagos on December 22, 2026.

Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates, Goddessa and Araga have sparked reactions on social media after sharing the first on-screen kiss of the show.

A video from the reality show’s live feed, which has since circulated widely on social media, showed the pair kissing while lying under the covers.

The moment comes days after the two housemates were seen bonding in the house, fuelling conversations among viewers about a possible romantic relationship.

The romantic connection comes within a week after season 11 premiered, with 24 housemates competing for the N160 million grand prize.

The reality television show started on July 26 with the theme ‘Everything Is For The Taking’.

Reactions have continued to trail the development, with netizens expressing divergent views on the swift romance between the two housemates.

One X user, Unwana (@Iam_sistabibi), wrote: “First kiss of the season. Goddessa and Araga.”

Another user, Ademola (@Ajagbe00), commented: “When did ARAGA and Goddessa ship started and we don’t know #BBNaija,”

On her part, Emerald Lily (@Lilian_Akin) said she preferred the pair to “gravitate towards each other naturally”.

Nigerians, especially celebrities, have launched a campaign against singer Tyla’s upcoming concert in Nigeria amid ongoing xenophobic attacks on foreigners in South Africa.

Tyla is from South Africa, where several Nigerians have been killed in ongoing xenophobic attacks against immigrants from other African countries.

The ‘South Africa thinks we’re fools’ campaign started a few days after the announcement of Tyla’s December concert in Lagos.

Netizens also accused South Africa of denying Nigerian artistes entry to the country.

Launching the social media campaign on Wednesday, many Nigerians including celebrities took to their pages in support of the campaign, citing Tyla’s failure to speak against the attacks on her platforms.

Popular OAP Do2dtun wrote on X, “If you stand for anything or not, good for you but if you go for that Tyla’s show then you are a bastard.

“Burna was issued a warning; threatened to be killed years ago if he ever stepped foot in SA over his stance against AKA’s xenophobic stance. What did you all do about it? Instead you crucified your own. We did absolutely nothing. They didn’t care. He took it like a gee; moved on and still became a global star. You all forgot ?

“But my Nigerians will rather blame people that suddenly take a stance on an artiste  that come from a country that constantly desecrate on your national identity and treat Africans in the most inhumane way. Nigeria is the republic of docile and complacent people. We only know how to blow grammar.”

BBNaija’s Pere Egbi, called on the Nigeria Immigration Service not to grant Tyla access to Nigeria.

He wrote on X, “Nigerian @nigimmigration we are collectively imploring you to intentionally deny Tyla and her team visas as well. They can’t do this to our own and we welcome their own. Madness must match madness.”

Solomon Buchi said in an Instagram video, “Tyla is scheduled to perform in Nigeria this December, and that show must not happen. This is one time that Nigerians have to come together and stand for something.

“Not after the xenophobic attacks that we saw in South Africa and how immigrants and especially Nigerians are treated. Not one word from Tyla and not even performative activism from her. She never spoke about it and all of a sudden, she wants to have a show in Nigeria. That’s very insulting to the intelligence of Nigerians.”

Content creator, Sea King in an Instagram post said, “I disagree with anyone supporting Tyla that her show in Nigeria must hold and I support everyone saying we should boycott her concert. The organizers of this event are too useless and can’t read the room.”

Also speaking on the issue, Izzy Ogbeide, in an Instagram video, blamed Tyla’s “audacity” to plan a concert in Lagos on Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s failure to fight for the citizens.

She wrote in Pidgin English ,”Na Tinubu Fail Us, If Not This Thing Wey Nor Talk About The Attacks On Nigeria Nor Go See Mouth Take Say She Dey Come Nigeria.

“Tyla Ogun Kee YourMama, So You Dey Do World Tour To Nigeria Nai You Nor Condemn The Act Of Xenophobic AttackAgainst Nigeria And Other Africa Countries.”

Isa Bako, a Nigerian digital creator and the son of the late military governor of Akwa Ibom State, Colonel Yakubu Bako, advised Nigerians to beat up anyone that attends the concert.

Bako said in an Instagram video, “So, Tyla is planning a concert in Nigeria. After the whole xenophobia. Killing Nigerians in South Africa. She never said anything but wants to come to Nigeria to perform and make money off Nigerians. I will advise Nigerians not to say anything. You people should just go to the venue and wait outside there to beat up anyone that attend to concert. Make una beat shege comot for their body, make they learn.”

Digital creator, D English Alhaji wrote, “Tyla’s show in Nigeria must not hold. She is not welcome here. She is required to perform in her country, given her refusal to condemn the attack against Nigerians and other Africans in her country. If she believes we are jesting, we invite her to come forward.”

Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Oyin, sparked drama in the Diary Room on Tuesday after she requested for a loan from Big Brother.

Biggie asked how she intended to pay back and she said she would use part of the grand prize to refund the loan.

Big Brother then asked what other means she had if she doesn’t win the show and Oyin said she doesn’t mind working as Biggie’s housemaid to offset the loan.

Biggie suggested that he could hire her as a ninja.

Oyin: “Big Brother, I need a loan. I will use part of the prize money to pay back the loan.”

Biggie: “What if you don’t win?”

Oyin: “You can give me work. I can wash plate for you.”

BIggie: “Or you can be a ninja.”

Oyin: “Ehen, yeah [laughs].”

Nigerian influencer, and human rights activist, Oruche Ogeamara Precious, popularly known as Mama Pee, has warned South African singer, Tyla against her upcoming concert in the country.

She gave the warning on Thursday following Tyla’s failure to condemn xenophobic attacks and killing of Nigerians in South Africa.

The videos of attacks on other Africans and the killing of some Nigerians by South African citizens intensified tension.

However, reacting to the announcement of Tyla’s APOP World Tour, which included a Lagos performance on December 22, Mama Pee argued that the songstress cannot hold a concert in Nigeria while Nigerians continue to face deadly attacks in South Africa.

While questioning Tyla’s silence over the attack, Mama Pee told her to stay back in her country which she tagged “human hunting country.”

Tagging Tyla to the Instagram post, Mama Pee wrote, “So tyla will come to Nigeria pass our immigration peacefully? and we will buy tickets to go and see her??? As per?

“A young man has just been strangled by the police if her country several killed cos of nothing but hate and she hasn’t said a word but she and her fellow human-hunting crew can come and sing for us so we dance here while our people bleed and scream in fear over there?

“Fellow Nigerians our feelings are valid. No gaslighting over here, Tyla should stay back in her human hunting country. Her silence in the face of grave injustice is loud enough.

“If na only this one we fit do as our government no no themselves, make we do am. I stand with Nigerians. Stay back in your country.”
