NPFL: Boboye praises Insurance players for win against Kwara United

Bendel Insurance technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye, says that his players followed the tactical plans in the win over Kwara United.

The Benin Arsenals came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over the Harmony Boys in Ilorin on Sunday.

Kayode Oke and Chinedu Nwosu were on target for the Benin-based club, while Stephen Gideon netted for Kwara United.

Boboye commended his players for coming back to snatch the victory in the game.

“We have our formation to execute while coming here which paid off, though we lost concentration with the first goal we conceded,” Boboye reacted in a chat with Sports digital.

“We were pressing to make sure we get the three points which paid off.

“We pressed to ensure we equalised and the second one was on another counter attack to make them lose concentration in the defence to get the winner for us.”

Bendel Insurance moved up to third position on the league table following the win.

They have garnered 18 points from 10 matches.

Bendel Insurance will take on Rangers in a rescheduled fixture in Awka on Wednesday.

EPL: Gerrard names three clubs capable of challenging Arsenal for League title

Former England midfielder, Steven Gerrard, is sticking with his pre-season prediction that Arsenal will win the Premier League title.

The Gunners won the trophy last season after a 22-year wait.

Following their 1-0 win at Liverpool on Sunday, Mikel Arteta’s men are now three points clear at the top of the table.

Gerrard has now said Arsenal possess the necessary resilience to see off other contenders.

He however picked Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool as the three teams capable of pushing Arsenal all the way.

“I just think where Arsenal’s squad is, and City’s, the Liverpool squad, I just think over the course of the 38 games, the three teams, and Chelsea, when you look at Chelsea in the second half there, I think them teams will pull away a bit over the course,” Gerrard said on The Overlap Daily.

EPL: Rio Ferdinand reveals Arsenal star Manchester United should have signed

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has revealed the Arsenal player he wished the Red Devils had signed.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said he wished Manchester United had signed ‘top player’ Ezri Konsa before his £55m move to Arsenal.

Konsa joined Arsenal from Premier League side Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

“I said to my son yesterday, ‘Watch Ezri Konsa,’ because everything he does is efficient. That is a great problem for Mikel Arteta to have,” Ferdinand said.

“He is a top player and another one I thought Manchester United should have got because he is a top player.”

‘I’ve not changed my mind’ – Gerrard on team to win EPL title

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has made a fresh Premier League title prediction.

The former England midfielder backed Arsenal to retain the Premier League title this season, having won it last season.

Gerrard stated this while giving credit to Mikel Arteta’s side after they defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the Premier League at the weekend.

“Credit to Arsenal because that’s how you win leagues, going to places like Liverpool, being strong,” Gerrard told The Overlap Daily.

“If they win the league, which I think they will, I have not changed my mind from the beginning of the season.”

The win over Liverpool moved Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table with three points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
