Manchester United have revealed that Marcus Rashford will wear the number 11 for England at this summer’s World Cup

Kobbie Mainoo is set to wear the number 16.

The full list of England’s squad numbers are due to be released at 3pm on Tuesday.

But United have revealed the numbers early after sharing the squad numbers of all 13 of their representatives at the World Cup.

Mainoo wore the number 26 at Euro 2024, his first major tournament for the Three Lions.

Rashford, meanwhile retains the number 11 shirt he wore at the 2021 Euros and 2022 World Cup, having previously worn 19 at the 2018 World Cup and 22 at Euro 2016.

Nigeria winger Chidera Ejuke is a subject of interest from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, DAILY POST reports.

Ejuke has been tipped to leave Spanish outfit, Sevilla this summer after another disappointing campaign for the club.

The Nigeria international registered one goal and one assist in 29 league appearances for the Rojiblancos.

The 28-year-old is also reportedly on the radar of some Premier League clubs but Bayer Leverkusen are leading the race for his signature.

Ejuke is currently valued at €4 million by Transfermarkt.

He joined Sevilla on a free transfer two years ago.

Wikki Tourists technical adviser Evans Ogenyi has commended his players for the victory over Bayelsa United in the President Federation Cup Round 32 clash.

The Bauchi Elephants defeated Bayelsa United 3-1 at the Lafia City Stadium on Monday to reach the Round of 16.

Ogenyi hailed the players for playing to instructions in the game.

“I thank God for this victory and commend my players for playing according to instructions,” Ogenyi told the club’s media.

“Before the match, I challenged them to play the game of their lives, and they did exactly that, God Crowned our efforts with victory.”

The Bauchi club are aiming to make a meaningful impact in the competition following their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Out of the 16 Barcelona players travelling to the World Cup, five will be making their debut on football’s biggest stage.

Three players will be appearing at a World Cup for the first time for Spain when the tournament begins next week.

The players are Lamine Yamal, Cubarsí and Joan Garcia.

Similarly, Barcelona’s recent signing, Anthony Gordon, will also be making his World Cup debut for England.

Recall that the LaLiga champions signed Gordon from Newcastle United last month.

The fifth debutant is Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim from Barcelona’s U19A side, whose performances have not gone unnoticed.

Brighton are in advanced talks to sign Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna from Swedish club, AIK, DAILY POST reports.

AIk are demanding a fee in the region of €20m for Yohanna.

The winger also has suitors elsewhere in the Premier League, along with clubs in Germany and Spain.

Brighton are however  ahead of the queue, according to Sky Sports, and could seal the deal this week.

The Seagulls have a commendable track record of developing promising talents.

Yohanna has scored two goals, and registered three assists in seven league appearances for AIK this season.

Two players are set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer in search of more playing time.

They are Kang-in Lee and Goncalo Ramos.

This was revealed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Monday night.

Romano, writing on his X account, claimed Atletico Madrid are interested in both forwards.

He tweeted: “Kang-in Lee and Gonçalo Ramos plan to leave Paris Saint-Germain in order to get more game time.

“Atlético Madrid asked for both already months ago, more options expected to follow.

“Chevalier situation also one to watch.”

Only Ramos featured off the bench as PSG beat Arsenal in last Saturday’s Champions League final.

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has declared his team ready for the international friendly against Poland, DAILY POST reports.

Chelle have 18 players in camp after some regular members of the team, including Victor Osimhen, and Ademola Lookman pulled out of the game, and next week’s clash with Portugal.

The Malian said his team will go all out for a win despite the absence of some of the key stars.

“We have 18 players in camp now and we will work with that. Everybody must work hard and we will go into the match with the determination to win,” the 48-year-old told thenff.com.

Wednesday’s encounter will hold at the Stadion Miejski Wroclawiu in the city of Wroclaw on Wednesday.

They will be up against Portugal in another friendly next week Wednesday.

Former Paris Saint-Germain defender, Godwin Okpara, has advised Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen to join Manchester United this summer transfer window.

Okpara believes Man United is the best place for Osimhen, adding that the Nigerian international will enjoy his football at the Premier League club.

Speaking to Soccernet, Okpara said of Osimhen, “For me, I would prefer him to go to Manchester United.

“He has already played in Belgium, France and Italy. Now, what comes next? If he can’t go to Spain, why not England?.

“Manchester United is the best place for him because he will enjoy his football there.”

Meanwhile, the last Super Eagles player who played for Manchester United was Odion Ighalo.

Chelsea on Monday announced that Academy defender Justin Osagie has signed a new contract with the club.

The new deal will keep Osagie at the Premier League west London club until 2029.

Osagie joined Chelsea during the opening months of the 2025/26 season.

He has quickly established himself as an important part of the club’s Under-21s squad.

The 20-year-old centre-back made 11 appearances across all competitions in his debut campaign for Chelsea.

He is an Irish-Nigerian defender, meaning he is eligible to play for Nigeria’s senior national team and also for the Irish national team.

England head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has given four Arsenal players in his World Cup squad an extra holiday.

According to Sky Sports, most of the England squad will arrive in Florida on Monday evening to begin their World Cup pre-tournament training preparation.

The report added that 21 of the 26 players on the England roster will gather from various locations to meet in Florida and begin their pre-tournament training camp.

However, the four Arsenal players who played in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain will join the main England squad a few days later.

Tuchel decided to give Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze extra vacation time to rest and recover after they all played in the Champions League final.

The four Arsenal players, along with Dean Henderson, who won the UEFA Europa Conference League with Crystal Palace, are likely to miss this week’s warm-up match against New Zealand.

But they should be ready to play against Costa Rica next week.
