Arsenal on Saturday announced that goalkeeper Karl Hein will complete a permanent move to Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen in July this year.

The Gunners disclosed this in a statement ahead of their final Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Hein joined Arsenal in June 2018 from his hometown club, Nomme United.

The 24-year-old signed his first professional contract with the Premier League champions the following year.

The Estonian international spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with his new side in Germany, where he made two Bundesliga appearances.

“We thank Karl for his contribution to the club during his time with us and wish him all the best for his next chapter with Werder Bremen,” Arsenal’s statement partly read.

Nigerian youngster David Temidayo Olorunfemi has joined Finish giants HJK, DAILY POST reports.

Olorunfemi, who signed a two-year contract with an option to extend by a further year, joined HJK from Tripple 44 Football Academy in Nigeria.

HJK beat clubs from Sweden and Denmark to the signature of the youngster.

The 18-year-old arrived Helsinki last weekend and had a few days to get to know the new environment before signing his contract.

Olorunfemi is looking forward to a successful stay at the club.

“It feels great to come here, this is a great opportunity for me. Striving towards domestic success and Euro competitions is exactly the kind of challenge I have been looking for. I can’t wait to help the team as best I can,” he told the club’s official website.

British broadcaster, Piers, Morgan, has said that Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice should have won the Premier League Player of the Season ahead of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes was named Premier League Player of the Season on Saturday.

The Portuguese led the Red Devils to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

However, Morgan has now slammed the decision to name Fernandes as the Premier League Player of the Season ahead of the England international.

“Ridiculous… Declan Rice should have won this [Premier League Player of the Season],” Morgan wrote on X.

“Absolute travesty that someone whose team never once competed for the Title wins over a guy whose brilliance all season led us to the Title.”

Fernandes equalled the record for the most assists in a Premier League season (20) this term.

Real Madrid have announced the exit of defender David Alaba this summer.

Alaba leaves the Bernabeu at the end of his current contract.

The Austrian will not be the only high-profile departure, as club captain Dani Carvajal will also leave as a free agent.

Madrid are refreshing their squad ahead of Jose Mourinho’s arrival in June.

The LaLiga giants also want to clear up space on the wage bill, following major investments in Alvaro Carreras and Huijsen last year.

Both Alaba and Carvajal will have the opportunity to bid an emotional farewell to Madridistas this weekend.

The club has already confirmed confirmed there will be a farewell ceremony at the Bernabeu before the final home match against Athletic Club.

Galatasaray President, Dursun Özbek, has ruled out any possibility of the club selling their star striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.

Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Galatasaray this summer after he won the Turkish Super Lig title with the team.

Clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with a move to secure Osimhen’s signature.

The Nigerian international had joined the Yellow-Reds from Serie A side Napoli.

“We initially signed Victor Osimhen on loan, and he performed magnificently,” Özbek said as per Fanatik.

“He loves Galatasaray and Turkey very much. He said he would stay at Galatasaray, and we started talking in Napoli.

“We don’t intend to sell Victor Osimhen! Putting a price on a player you don’t intend to sell is like dressing a footballer before he’s even born…”

Osimhen is said to be valued at  €150 million.

Paul Onuachu scored twice as Trabzonspor defeated Konyaspor 2-1 in the final of the Turkish Cup on Friday night.

It was the 10th time Trabzonspor lifted the Turkish Cup.

Onuachu, who finished as joint top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig in the 2025/26 season, opened the scoring for the Black Sea Storm in the 18th minute, with right-back Wagne Pina providing the assist.

Democratic Republic of Congo striker Jackson Muleka equalised for Konyaspor five minutes after the break.

Enis Bardhi missed the chance to hand Konyaspor the lead for the first time in the game when he missed from the penalty spot two minutes before the hour mark.

Onuachu netted the winning goal for Trabzonspor from the penalty spot 11 minutes from time.

His international teammate, Chibuike Nwaiwu, also featured for Trabzonspor in the game.

Departing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted he regrets not giving Joe Hart a chance after he arrived at the club in 2016.

Hart did not play a single game under Guardiola and played on loan at Torino for two seasons, but signing for Burnley.

At the time, the goalkeeper was the England number one and a two-time Premier League winner.

But Guardiola deemed Hart was not good enough with his feet for his style and brought in Claudio Bravo.

“I want to confess something, I have just one regret – I didn’t give Joe Hart a chance with me, to prove how good a keeper he was,” Guardiola said on Sky Sports.

“When you take a lot of decisions, you will make mistakes.”

Rivers United have announced free entry for fans ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday 38 encounter against Katsina United.

The River State government made the announcement in a statement on Friday.

The state government said that the development will enable football fans witness and be part of a potentially historic occasion

Rivers United are in the race to win the 2025-26 NPFL title on the final day of the season.

They trail League leaders Rangers by one point on the NPFL table.

The Pride of Rivers will square up with Katsina United in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Plateau United has announced that their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 38 fixture against Kano Pillars will be played behind closed doors.

The Peace Boys made the announcement in a statement on Friday.

Plateau United stated that the decision was reached due to security reasons.

Gbenga Ogunbote’s side will lock horns with Kano Pillars at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

Plateau United need a win in the game to secure their top-flight status, while Kano Pillars must avoid defeat to escape relegation.

Kano Pillars sit in 10th position on the NPFL table with 48 points, while Plateau United are 12th with 47 points.

Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists have already been relegated to the second tier, with two more teams set to join them.

Zimbabwe head coach, Kaitano Tembo, has said his team will be gunning for a win in their Unity Cup semi-final encounter against Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.

The Warriors will do battle with the Super Eagles at The Valley, London, on Tuesday, May 26.

Tembo’s side arrived in Birmingham on Thursday to start preparations for the invitational tournament.

The gaffer said it is important for his team to start the competition on a winning note.

“I think for us, the most important thing is to see a lot of positives from the team. We want to win because it is important for us to start on a positive note and maintain the result,” Tembo told the Zimbabwe Football Association official website.

The Warriors will move to London for the game on Sunday.
