Nigerian youngster Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku has sealed a move to Swedish club IFK Göteborg, DAILY POST reports.

Olowoporoku, who penned a three-year contract joined the 18-time Allsvenskan champions from Tripple 44 Football Academy.

The 18-year-old will be part of IFK Göteborg’s first team , and will both train and play matches with them.

He will also play with the club’s U-19 and U-21 sides.

The playmaker is the latest player from the Tripple 44 Football Academy to move to Europe.

Former Flying Eagles midfielder Abel Ogwuche, Emmanuel Godwin, and Ibrahim Adewale are some of the players, who have left the academy for Europe in recent years.

Former France international, Emmanuel Petit, has hit out at the Les Bleus players following their World Cup 2-0 defeat to Spain on Tuesday.

Petit said that the French players were so nervous and performed poorly both tactically and technically against the La Roja.

Speaking with former England striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, Petit said (via talkSPORT),  “We looked so nervous, so far away from our level.

“Tactically and technically, we were so poor. Credit to Spain, they really deserved to win. They played really well.

“We had no inspiration, no creativity, no personality. It was a lesson in football yesterday,” he said.

France star, Rayan Cherki, has insisted that Spain were better than the Les Bleus in two areas.

Cherki stated this while reacting to France’s World Cup semi-final 2-0 defeat to Spain on Tuesday.

According to the Manchester City player, the La Roja were better than France in winning second balls and recovering possession.

DAILY POST reports that Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro scored the goals for Spain against France.

“I don’t think we lacked solutions. They were simply better than us when it came to winning second balls and recovering possession,” Cherki said via FIFA’s website.

“I think that is where the game was decided because if we had won more of those balls, we could have caused them a lot more problems.”

Argentina will now play Spain in the final of the 2026 World Cup, following their stunning comeback win against England on Wednesday night.

The defending champions looked to be heading out after Anthony Gordon’s opening goal in the second half.

But Albiceleste, inspired by their talisman Lionel Messi, fought back to win the game.

Messi rolled a pass into Enzo Fernandez to smash in the equalizer, before crossing to Lautaro Martinez to head in the winner.

For England, the 60-year wait to win the World Cup continues and they will now play France in the third-place play-off.

Former Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf, has hit out at France after they lost 2-0 against Spain in the World Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

Leboeuf believes the Les Bleus have to learn their lesson after losing to Spain because they cannot run fast at the start of the tournament and slow down close to the final.

“That was a failure. That game wasn’t a good game. Spain deserved a hundred per cent to win,” Leboeuf said (via ESPN FC on Instagram).

“We didn’t see anything good coming from France. We didn’t find any chances for them to score.

“Spain was above everywhere, you go back disappointed, but you have to learn your lesson. A World Cup is hard because you can’t run fast at the beginning and slow down close to the final. That is what happened to the French team.”

Obasogie is currently on the books of Tanzania side, Sigida Black Stars.

The experienced shot stopper featured for Bendel Insurance in 2024 before his move abroad.

According to reports, Bendel Insurance are interested in re-signing the goalkeeper for the 2026-27 season.

Obasogie’s return would be a major boost for the Benin Arsenals as they aim for a strong outing in the NPFL next season.

He won the Federation Cup with the Benin-based club in 2023.

Obasogie won the prestigious NPFL Golden Glove award after keeping the most clean sheets during the season.

He was part of the Super Eagles 2025 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, bronze winning squad.

Arsenal have announced their fifth summer transfer as the squad overhaul progresses.

Lisa Baum was confirmed the fifth addition to Arsenal Women’s team during this summer’s transfer window.

The club revealed that Baum joined from RB Leipzig, marking her as the fifth signing for the women’s team this summer.

According to football.london, the young player signed a contract that will keep her in North London until 2029, with an option for an additional year.

The Gunners had been negotiating for her transfer throughout the summer and are thrilled to welcome the promising young winger. At only 19 years old, Baum has already made a significant impact in the Bundesliga.

After joining RB Leipzig in 2025 following a successful period with Hamburger SV, it took just one season for her talent to attract the attention of the double European champions, who have been actively enhancing their squad this summer. Baum is expected to bring considerable quality to the wide positions available to coach Renee Slegers.

Former England right-back Kyle Walker has shared his insights with head coach Thomas Tuchel on how to stop Lionel Messi when the Three Lions face Argentina on Wednesday.

“I am open to man-marking, but I doubt its effectiveness for us, and he might view it as a personal challenge to prove that he cannot be contained in that manner. My advice would be to avoid provoking him.”

Kwara United defender, Abdulafeez Musa, has ended his five years stay with the club, DAILY POST reports.

Musa is set to join Niger Tornadoes ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The experienced defender won the President Federation Cup title with the Harmony Boys during his time at the club.

He also played a key role in helping the Ilorin-based club avoid relegation last season.

Musa’s leadership and NPFL experience are expected to be a major asset for the new-look Niger Tornadoes squad.

He is also expected to add depth and stability to the Minna club’s defence.
