Experienced tactician Hassan Abdallah has revealed that he was framed up for bribery during his time with Nigeria National League, NNL, side, Heartland.

DAILY POST reports that Abdallah managed Heartland during the 2021-22 season.

Abdallah spent around two months with the club.

The former Flying Eagles assistant coach insisted that he is still being owed by the Naze Millionaires.

“When I was here with Heartland a lot of things happened, people set me up with bribery allegations.

“My team, they were not paid, up till now I’m still being owed by Heartland that was how I left the club with no support,” the tactician said.

Abdallah is currently in charge of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side, Warri Wolves.

Warri Wolves suffered a 3-0 defeat to Owerri-based club Kun Khalifat FC in a week 34 encounter at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.

Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has snubbed the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha while naming Nuno Mendes as Paris Saint-Germain’s best player this season.

Oliseh stated this in a recent episode of his Global Football Insights Podcast ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

He said the 23-year-old Portuguese left-back is out of this world, comparing him with former Chelsea left-back Celestine Babayaro.

“For me, he (Nuno Mendes) is the best player in Paris Saint-Germain. This guy is out of this world,” Oliseh said.

“He always goes back and front and what he did two or three days ago, he did with an injury.

“He was injured, he would’ve left the pitch, but he still played like that. He reminds me of Celestine Babayaro at his best.”

Ghana have appointed Carlos Queiroz as the Black Stars head coach ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana Football Association, GFA, parted ways with Otto Addo last month following the Black Stars disappointing results against Germany and Austria.

The GFA did not specify the length of the Portuguese’s contract.

Queiroz will be participating in his fifth World Cup as manager.

Ghana are drawn in Group L with Panama, England and Croatia.

The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 18.

Enyimba technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch has warned his players they can’t afford to relax after Sunday’s home win against Katsina United.

The nine-time champions eased their relegation worries with a comfortable 3-0 over Katsina United in Aba.

Veteran winger Stanley Dimgba, Chidera Michael and Womah Wilson got the goals for the People’s Elephant.

Enyimba moved to 13th position in the table with 43 points.

Deutsch, who expressed satisfaction with his team’s victory insisted that they must keep working hard with four matches remaining before the end of the campaign.

“I’m very comfortable. I feel very happy with the result, but it’s not yet over because there are still four matches to be played,” the Cameroonian said after the game.

“We’ve moved up on the table, but we should not remain there. We must work harder to climb further because it’s not yet over.”

Enyimba will be up against second-placed Rangers in an Oriental Derby at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, this weekend.

Former Arsenal star, Paul Merson, has given his verdict on Manchester United’s Premier League title hopes for next season.

Since Michael Carrick stepped in as interim manager in January, taking over from Reuben Amorim, United have been climbing up the table.

They currently sit third in the table, behind only Arsenal and Manchester City this term.

Still, Merson remains unconvinced they’re ready to go all the way to win the Premier League next season.

He believes United’s immediate priority should be securing a top-four finish rather than dreaming of the title.

“I don’t think Manchester United are ready to fight for the title next season,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“Their sole focus should be on getting back into the Champions League.”

Kun Khalifat FC technical adviser, Obinna Uzoho, has commended his players for playing to instructions in the win over Warri Wolves.

The Owerri-based club defeated Warri Wolves 3–0 in a Matchday 34 encounter at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.

Uchechukwu Onuoha scored twice, while Nnorom Nmesoma scored the other goal for the hosts.

Uzoho said his players showed quality in the game.

“I reminded the players of their quality. As you all know, the players are raw talents and we have to force our philosophy into them,” Uzoho told Puyaka.

“The players heard my voice in the second half, and they came out strong.”

Gateway FC forward Nnachi David is adamant that the team will come good next season, DAILY POST reports.

The Abeokuta-based club defeated Inter Lagos 2–1 in their final match of the 2025–26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

David said the result was a proof of the footballing identity they built this season.

“Our win against Inter Lagos is a testament to the quality football we play,” David told Sportslighthub.

Gateway FC registered 18 points from 16 matches in the NNL Conference A.

They were relegated to the Nationwide League after an underwhelming campaign.

David expressed dissatisfaction with the position of the team on the table.

“Just that we were unfortunate to end the season in that position.”

Former England striker, Gary Lineker, has predicted that Manchester City will beat Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

Lineker has consistently backed the Gunners to end their 22-year wait for the title.

But following a 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth and City’s 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea, he has changed his mind.

“I’ve been telling everyone I know that Arsenal will be fine and that they’re not going to choke,” Lineker said on The Rest Is Football podcast.

“But they’re stuttering, they’ve lost their form at the moment and we know how important momentum is.

“And all the momentum now is with Man City. It’s so tough to call now but if you said you need to put your life on the line, which I’d hate to have to do under these circumstances, I’d probably now go City because I think they will win next week.”

Benfica manager, Jose Mourinho, has said he will also stay at the club if it is their wish.

Mourinho has a contract with the Portuguese club until 2027.

But the 63-year-old has been linked with a move away this summer.

Following the 2-0 win over Nacional on Sunday, Mourinho has insisted he has no personal demands from Benfica.

“It all depends on the club’s wishes,” Mourinho said.

“My desire to stay at Benfica isn’t conditional on anything from my part; it doesn’t depend on investment in the team.”

Mourinho’s deal also contains a clause that would allow him or the club to terminate the contract in May.

Malawi has named 29 players in its squad for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round tie against the Falconets of Nigeria.

Twenty-one players were retained from the squad that defeated Guinea-Bissau in the third round.

Head coach Maggie Chombo is expected to reduce the number before the clash with Nigeria next month.

Malawi will travel to Nigeria for the first leg on May 2.

They will host the second leg at the Bingu National Stadium on May 9, 2026.

The winner on aggregate will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland from August 27 to September 26.
