Former Juventus midfielder Sunday Oliseh has named the best football team and manager in the world at the moment.

Speaking recently on his Sunday Oliseh Global Football Insights show, the former Super Eagles captain said Paris Saint-Germain is the best team in the world in all departments, while their head coach, Luis Enrique, is the best manager in the world.

Oliseh spoke while giving his verdict on PSG after they recently qualified for the Champions League final, where they will face Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest.

“Paris Saint-Germain is the best-managed club in the world,” Oliseh said.

“They are now selling the team, the culture, Paris. They are selling the city. That means players go, players come, the team stays.

“PSG has the best manager in the world. They’re the best team in the world in all departments,” he said.

Former Inter Milan striker, Obinna Nsofor, has urged Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen to leave the Turkish Super Lig champions in the summer transfer window.

The former West Ham United star insisted that the Nigerian international has done enough for Galatasaray.

Osimhen has won back-to-back Turkish Super Lig titles since joining Galatasaray from Napoli.

He has been linked with a move away from the Yellow and Reds to join top clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United.

“Victor Osimhen has done enough at Galatasaray. If he truly wants to become the best striker in the world, then he must move to a club that can compete seriously for the UEFA Champions League,” Nsofor said on Brila as revealed on X.

“Galatasaray is a big club, nobody can deny that, but when you talk about clubs expected to win the UEFA Champions League, they’re not among the favourites.”

Chelsea caretaker manager, Calum McFarlane, has admitted that the club’s FA Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday is their only chance to salvage something from the season.

The Blues will face Manchester City at Wembley for a chance to win silverware and secure a spot in Europe next season.

Going into the game, Chelsea have endured a poor run of form but managed to hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, the Blues coach was asked if this was their only chance to finish the season with something meaningful.

“Yeah, I think our recent form in the league has been way below the standard we’d expect and that we’d shown previously.

“It’s an FA Cup final, so we want to win it. It’s a massive competition, a prestigious competition, and the club has history in it as well, having won it eight times. So, yeah, our focus is on that, performing as well as we can against a top side,” he said.

He added, “I’m confident that we’ll get a similar level, hopefully a similar level of performance, to what we got at Liverpool. I thought we ticked a lot of boxes in that game in terms of what we want from this team and how we get the best version of it. So, I’m confident that we can get that again.”

He also spoke about who could become Chelsea’s next manager. The likes of Xabi Alonso, former midfielder Cesc Fabregas, and Xavi have all been mentioned as possible permanent bosses for the Blues.

Asked if Chelsea fans should be excited about some of the names being linked with the vacant job, the Englishman said, “Yeah, there’s a lot of names linked with the job. It’s not really my place to say who’s going to get it, who should get it, who’s a good manager, or who’s not a good manager. My job is to prepare the team for Saturday and that’s all I’ll be focusing on.”

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said Chelsea will have an advantage because they do not have a game this week.

Responding to that, Calum said, “Yeah, it’s tough when you have a game midweek and you have a triple game week. It’s tough.

“We’ve had a lot of them this year, but we’re focused on ourselves, we’re focused on how we prepare. We’re playing against an excellent side and an excellent coach, so we need to be at our best, regardless of whether they’ve had a triple game week or not. That’s what we’re focused on.”

Former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has insisted that the next Chelsea manager must give Jorrel Hato a chance.

Stam could be speaking directly to Xabi Alonso, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder, as well as ex-Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid manager, who is leading the race to become Chelsea’s next boss.

After a rocky start to life in west London, the 20-year-old, whom the Blues signed from Ajax in the summer for £37 million, has established himself as one of the most reliable defenders at the club.

In an interview with ComeOn, Stam took a dig at Chelsea owners BlueCo while explaining why Hato deserves to remain a regular in the starting lineup.

Stam said, “Jorrel Hato is a very talented player. When I saw him play as a centre-back when Liam Rosenior was there, I was quite impressed.

“I think he even played a big game against Man City, from what I recall. He’s very comfortable on the ball, which is typical for a player from Holland. He needs to be comfortable on the ball and able to dribble into midfield to create an extra man.

“He needs to be quick, which he is, and he’s quite aggressive in his style of play. He can also play as a left-back, where he played for a longer period at Ajax.

“It’s a shame, but that’s how Chelsea operates, bringing in young players, not always giving them an opportunity, and then maybe selling them on when they do well. It’s a shame for a player like him because he needs to play and improve by playing a lot of games.

“Hopefully, he’ll have a bigger role next season and a greater impact. Of course, that depends on the manager who comes in. At Chelsea, when a new manager arrives, they need to perform and be successful immediately.

“That often means managers pick more experienced, older players because they think it’s easier to take the next step with them. I don’t always agree with that.”

Hato was rarely given a chance by Enzo Maresca, despite having been identified as someone who could provide cover across the backline. When Chelsea secured his signature, the former head coach noted his wealth of experience as a key factor behind his arrival.

However, the Netherlands international was often overlooked in the opening weeks of the season, with Maresca pointing to the step up in physicality and intensity in the English top flight. In the final eight weeks of the Italian’s tenure, Hato played just once.

EPL: Jaap Stam names Chelsea star Xabi Alonso must not joke with

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has picked Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique as his first-choice manager to coach the Red Devils permanently, ahead of Michael Carrick, if the Spaniard was “up for grabs.”

Ferdinand also admitted that Carrick has earned the right to manage Manchester United in a full-time capacity.

Recall that Man United appointed Carrick to manage the club temporarily after dismissing Ruben Amorim a few months ago.

Carrick has done well so far since taking over from Amorim, guiding United to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Ferdinand said, “He [Carrick] would be my first choice, given the lack of options that are around right now, considering what he’s done and the lack of options.

“The only person I would be looking at seriously and saying, ‘Do you know what? Regardless of what Michael Carrick has done,’ is Luis Enrique, if he became available.

“He’s a great manager. If he’s available, then I don’t care what Michael Carrick has done, you take him because of what he’s achieved at PSG.”

EPL: Ferdinand picks manager he wants to coach Man Utd ahead of Carrick

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has insisted he is more interested in winning matches than trying to outscore Manchester City.

Arteta, speaking to reporters on Thursday, said goal difference settling the Premier League title race will be secondary.

Manchester City thrashed Crystal Palace 3-0 on Wednesday, a result that saw their goal difference increase to +43, one more than Arsenal’s.

In the last two matches, City will play Bournemouth and Aston Villa, while the Gunners play Burnley and Palace.

Arteta said: “First we have to earn the right to win the game. Obviously if you can make a difference with more goals, that’s even better.

“But we all play really tough matches. We had a really tough match against West Ham and managed to win it, and it was a great feeling.

“But we know ideally that scoring goals is going to be important.”

World record holder, Tobi Amusan, is determined to win more medals for Nigeria after claiming her third title at the ongoing 2026 African Senior Athletics Championship in Accra, Ghana, DAILY POST reports.

There is no bonus included in the agreement that brought Eberechi Eze to Arsenal from Crystal Palace during the summer, which would provide the south London club with additional funds should the Gunners secure the league title.

Numerous supporters took to social media to express their excitement over the claims that Crystal Palace could earn up to £10 million in bonuses if Arsenal were to win the league at Selhurst Park on Sunday, May 24.

However, no such clause is present.

Eze moved to Arsenal in a deal valued at £67.5 million in August 2025. However, it is believed that only £7.5 million of this amount is classified as add-ons, which are contingent upon various factors, none of which relate to winning the domestic championship.

These add-ons were perceived as highly attainable by Palace at the time the agreement was finalized. Initially, Eze had a release clause set at £67.5 million; however, this clause lapsed before both Tottenham and Arsenal intensified their efforts to acquire the England international.

Nevertheless, it was Arsenal’s prompt action regarding the deal and their readiness to match the previous release clause value that secured the transfer over Spurs. Additionally, Eze’s personal inclination towards joining the club he supported as a child, and where he had previously played in their youth system before being released at the age of 13, played a significant role in his decision.

EPL: Crystal Palace will receive no bonus on Eze’s transfer if Arsenal wins title

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has spoken on the player he would use as replacement for injured Jurrien Timber and Ben White in the right-back position.

While Timber is recovering, Ben White sustained an injury during the 1-0 win over West Ham last weekend, a situation that has left Arsenal fans worried ahead of their remaining games in the Premier League and Champions League final.

Centre-back Cristhian Mosquera is seen as a possible option as a right-back should Timber not regain full fitness in time as Ben White has been sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Asked if Mosquera, who had played in that position before could be an alternative, as quoted by Football London, Arteta said,

“There are different options in relation to the opponent as well, and the things that we want to do with sets and plays.

“But we need to be open to that, not only to one but to two or three options. Because games can vary, players can pick an injury, I don’t know. We need to be flexible on that and really think about that option.

“We need to look at alternatives. The two players that we have there are not available at the moment. We need to look and do something else. The good thing is that we have experienced that all over the pitch this season.

“When we had issues, normally, they’ve been in the same positions as well. We have managed to find the right level of performance and consistency. I’m sure we will do that.”
