Paul Onuachu scored twice as Trabzonspor defeated Konyaspor 2-1 in the final of the Turkish Cup on Friday night.

It was the 10th time Trabzonspor lifted the Turkish Cup.

Onuachu, who finished as joint top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig in the 2025/26 season, opened the scoring for the Black Sea Storm in the 18th minute, with right-back Wagne Pina providing the assist.

Democratic Republic of Congo striker Jackson Muleka equalised for Konyaspor five minutes after the break.

Enis Bardhi missed the chance to hand Konyaspor the lead for the first time in the game when he missed from the penalty spot two minutes before the hour mark.

Onuachu netted the winning goal for Trabzonspor from the penalty spot 11 minutes from time.

His international teammate, Chibuike Nwaiwu, also featured for Trabzonspor in the game.

Departing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted he regrets not giving Joe Hart a chance after he arrived at the club in 2016.

Hart did not play a single game under Guardiola and played on loan at Torino for two seasons, but signing for Burnley.

At the time, the goalkeeper was the England number one and a two-time Premier League winner.

But Guardiola deemed Hart was not good enough with his feet for his style and brought in Claudio Bravo.

“I want to confess something, I have just one regret – I didn’t give Joe Hart a chance with me, to prove how good a keeper he was,” Guardiola said on Sky Sports.

“When you take a lot of decisions, you will make mistakes.”

Plateau United has announced that their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 38 fixture against Kano Pillars will be played behind closed doors.

The Peace Boys made the announcement in a statement on Friday.

Plateau United stated that the decision was reached due to security reasons.

Gbenga Ogunbote’s side will lock horns with Kano Pillars at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.

Plateau United need a win in the game to secure their top-flight status, while Kano Pillars must avoid defeat to escape relegation.

Kano Pillars sit in 10th position on the NPFL table with 48 points, while Plateau United are 12th with 47 points.

Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists have already been relegated to the second tier, with two more teams set to join them.

Zimbabwe head coach, Kaitano Tembo, has said his team will be gunning for a win in their Unity Cup semi-final encounter against Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.

The Warriors will do battle with the Super Eagles at The Valley, London, on Tuesday, May 26.

Tembo’s side arrived in Birmingham on Thursday to start preparations for the invitational tournament.

The gaffer said it is important for his team to start the competition on a winning note.

“I think for us, the most important thing is to see a lot of positives from the team. We want to win because it is important for us to start on a positive note and maintain the result,” Tembo told the Zimbabwe Football Association official website.

The Warriors will move to London for the game on Sunday.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe held their first training session in Birmingham on Friday ahead of the Unity Cup semi-final encounter against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.

Head coach Kaitano Tembo supervised the session alongside his assistants.

The Warriors arrived in Birmingham for the friendly invitational tournament on Thursday.

They will continue their preparations on Saturday as they look forward to the game.

Zimbabwe and defending champions Nigeria will clash at the Valley next week Tuesday.

The winner will face either India or Jamaica in the final.

Rangers and Rivers United will renew their supremacy battle in the Round of 32 of the President Federation Cup, DAILY POST reports.

The two clubs are currently battling for the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title.

Rangers currently sit at the top of the standings with 62 points, while second-placed Rivers United have 61 points.

The winner of the title will be decided on Sunday, with Rangers travelling to Lagos to face Ikorodu City while Rivers United will entertain Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Another interesting match-up in the President Federation Cup Round of 32 is the clash between relegated NPFL clubs Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists.

The winner of the competition will represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Head coach Kaitano Tembo included only three local players in his squad for the invitational tournament.

The local playersand technical crew members will be joined in London by the foreign-based contingents.

Zimbabwe will clash with the Super Eagles at the Valley, home ground of Sky Bet Championship club, Charlton Athletic next week Tuesday.

India and Jamaica will clash in the other semi-final at the same venue on Wednesday, 27 May.

The Super Eagles are the defending champions of the competition.

The Spaniard revealed this in a statement on Friday.
