Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has said he wants his colleague, Asake, to perform at his wedding.

He informed Asake of this during their recent appearance on Apple Music radio, alongside DJ Tunez.

Wizkid revealed that ‘Omo Ope’ made him a fan of Asake, but ‘Remember’ is his favourite Asake song and he would like him to perform it on his wedding day.

The Starboy boss stated that Asake is one of the most talented vocalists in Africa and the world at large.

He added that the ‘Lonely At The Top’ crooner is a blessing to African music.

He said, “‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.

“You [Asake] are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”

Wizkid is currently in a romantic relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Japa P.

The couple have three children together, two boys and a girl.

Ace Nigerian producer and music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has said Afrobeats is still “a baby” when compared with other global genres despite its successes.

He noted that Afrobeats practitioners are still learning, stressing that the music industry is dynamic.

Don Jazzy also highlighted how the cost of Nigerian music promotion has skyrocketed over the years.

The Mavin boss stated that he remains ever open to learning from others who have excelled in areas he has yet to explore in the music industry and beyond.

In a lengthy post on X, Jazzy wrote, “This our beloved Afrobeats is still a baby genre in the grand scheme of things. We are all still learning everyday as the game is ever changing. If you told me just 6 years ago that an afrobeats video could cost over 20m Naira I would say ahh that’s way too much o. But behold some of us have shot videos over 100k dollars. If Burna tells me what it takes to do multiple international stadium shows, I will take notes cos I never run am before. If Dangote tells me what it cost to build a refinery in Lagos I will learn from him. That said, my people if I tell you how to run a successful record label in Nigeria, I will advise you take notes even if na small note cos we no plenty wey don run am.”

Famous Nigerian musician, Ruger, has shared his thoughts about women with Brazilian Butt Lift cosmetic procedure better known as BBL.

Sharing his thoughts on the body enhancement surgery, the musician explained that it seems like the cosmetic procedure comes with bad attitude.

Speaking in pidgin English, Ruger wrote “When i see girl with bbl I Dey straight up think say dem get bad character. Be like the procedure Dey come with small attitude and ogba”.

His post  sparked debate on social media, with many users questioning why women bodies remain a constant target for public judgment.

AGN reveals cause of its newly elected president, Abubakar Yakubu’s car accident

The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, has revealed the cause of its newly elected president, Abubakar Yakubu’s, car accident.

AGN, in a statement shared by its outgoing president, Emeka Rollas, made this known on Thursday.

Reacting to the viral news of the incident, Rollas stated that “Yakubu cooperated fully with law enforcement and emergency responders as a law-abiding citizen.”

He further revealed that the fatal accident was caused by “unexpected mechanical brake failure, claiming the life of a child and injuring the child’s mother, who is currently receiving medical care.”

DAILY POST reports that Abubakar Yakubu was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, after being involved in a tragic accident in Surulere.

The incident occurred less than 72 hours after he was elected as the AGN’s president on Saturday, 6 December 2025. He emerged winner after defeating actress Rita Daniels.

Judy Austin cries out over alleged spiritual attack

Judy Austin, a Nigerian actress and second wife to actor Yul Edochie, has called out an unnamed witch for allegedly attacking her and her children.

The actress raised the alarm in a series of posts on her Instagram page on Wednesday.

While giving the unnamed individual a last warning, Judy wrote “let this be the last time you & your coven members will come to attack me.

“I know you are seeing this. The manipulation to gain pity is okay but consistently attacking me & my children is the other part people don’t see. You can’t harm one with clean hands, if you could, I would have been unalived by now.

“The next time will be your last time you witch. The powerful blood of Jesus Christ will blind you”.

The separation reportedly stemmed from Yul Edochie’s alleged decision to reconcile with his legal wife, May Edochie.

The rumours went viral after Yul made peace with his elder brother, Linc Edochie, and Rita Edochie, his aunty who had constantly accused Judy Austin of “snatching” him from his legal wife.

Popular comedian Kint Da Drunk has revealed why he switched careers from music to comedy.

In a recent interview with Naija FM Lagos, Klint Da Drunk explained that he was initially pursuing a career in music why studying at the Institute of Management Technology, IMT, Enugu but gave up after realising that music was not for him after watching 2Face, who was also studying at the school, perform at an event on campus.

Da Drunk said he has no regret quitting music for comedy, stressing that he is happy with his career path.

He said, “I used to be a musician until 2Face got admitted to my school, IMT. One day when he got on stage to perform at an event on campus, I left the hall. The organisers pleaded with me to stay back and perform when he is done.

“I accepted but after hearing him sing just two lines, I went home. I didn’t know that my style and 2Face’s style were different. If I had known, I would continue making music. But thank God I didn’t continue. I like where I am.”

Klint Da Drunk was featured in the popular Nigerian hip-hop song ‘Obodo’ by rapper Mr Raw. He also co-founded a music group with Mr Raw before quitting singing to focus on his comedy career.

The group came second in the star quest talent show in 2002 after losing to another group, KC Presh.

Following his success in the comedy industry, Klint Da Drunk starred in over a dozen Nollywood movies including ‘Men On The Run’, ‘Madam 10/10’, ‘Fast Cash’, and ‘Lost Kingdom.’

CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ becomes first solo Nigerian song to join Spotify 1 Billion Club

Ckay has made history as the first Nigerian artist to have a solo song reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. He achieved the milestone with his 2019 hit Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah), which recently surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform.

Ckay is also the first solo male African artist to reach this landmark.

From the newly released list, gospel singer Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye and famous Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli emerged as the most outstanding figures on the platform.

The announcement was made through a statement signed by YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Addy Awofisayo.

Gaise Baba dominated the music category with his viral hit “No Turning Back II,” which features Lawrence Oyor, finishing as the most streamed Nigerian music video on the platform for the year.

The video, which was released in mid-May, quickly spread across the country and gathered more than forty-one million views within six months, earning massive engagement from fans.

Actor Stanley Ontop released from police detention [VIDEO]

Popular Nigerian filmmaker and activist, Stanley Ajemba, better known as Stanley Ontop, has finally been released from police detention.

DAILY POST reports that Stanley was arrested on Tuesday and detained at the Delta State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, in Asaba.

His detention followed a defamation petition written against him by his colleague, actress Queeneth Hilbeth.

The actor’s arrest sparked criticism on social media, with many celebrities calling for his release.

It was gathered that the actor was later released on Wednesday evening after spending one night in detention.

Announcing his release in a video shared on his Instagram page, Stanley shouted, “We are out, we’re out, we’re out!

“The struggle continues, no leave no transfer. Aluta continua. Thanks to my team and family. The love was massive meenh.”

Israel DMW unveils new lover two years after marriage crash

Davido’s logistics manager, Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, has flaunted a new lover.

Israel subtly introduced his new lover to the public in an Instagram post on Wednesday December 10, 2025, while sharing pictures from the 88th birthday of General Theophilus Danjuma, rtd, a former Chief of Army Staff.

The development came two years after Israel announced separation from his wife, Sheila Courage David.

DAILY POST recalls that in October 2022, Israel got married to Sheila in Edo State.

The couple, however, parted ways in 2023, less than a year after their grand wedding following alleged infidelity and domestic violence.
