Former Liverpool player, Danny Murphy, has picked the favourite club to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
According to Murphy, Arsenal are probably the favourites to win the European top-flight league because of the side of the draw the Gunners find themselves on and their defensive solidity.
“Arsenal are so good defensively and even when they’re not playing well,” Murphy said on talkSPORT.
“They are probably favourites to win the Champions League because of the side of the draw they’re on, you would expect them to get to the final.”
Arsenal will take on Sporting CP in the quarter-final of the Champions League following a 2-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16 second leg encounter on Tuesday.

UCL: Franck Ribery names biggest favourite to win trophy

Former Bayern Munich star, Franck Ribery, has named the Bundesliga giants as the biggest favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
Ribery was speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League Round of 16 second-leg fixture against Atalanta on Wednesday.
According to the Frenchman, the Bavarians are extremely strong and are in good shape.
“I can say clearly, yes,” Ribery told La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked if Bayern Munich are favourites.
“Bayern is not only extremely strong, but also in good shape. In my opinion, they are the biggest favorite to win the Champions League.”
Bayern Munich thrashed Atalanta 6-1 in the first last week in Italy.
FIBA WWCQ: D’Tigress star Macaulay named in All-Star team

D’Tigress’ Victoria Macaulay has been included in the All-Star Team of the 2025 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament.
The competition ended in France on Tuesday with the T’Digress going down 81-73 to Germany in their last game.
Rena Wakama’s side finished the competition with two wins and three defeats.
Macaulay was one of the top performers for Nigeria at the competition.
