CAF Champions League: Rangers arrive Lome for Sobemap clash

Rangers have arrived in Lome, Togo for the second leg of their CAF Champions League first preliminary round clash against Sobemap FC.

The reigning Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, champions arrived in Lome on Wednesday night.

The Flying Antelopes will do battle with Sobemap at the Stade de Kague, Lome on Friday, September 11.

Rangers played out a 1-1 draw with the Beninoise side in the first leg in Abeokuta last weekend.

The Enugu-based club need a win to qualify for the next round of the competition.

Nigeria’s other representatives in the competition Rivers United will be up against San Pedro of Cote d’Ivoire.

Carter Efe’s account was permanently banned on Wednesday for repeatedly violating the TikTok’s community guidelines.

The ban has effectively shutdown his main short-form video platform, where he had built a huge following through music promotion, comedy skits, and live broadcasts.

Confirming the development, the platform said, “your account was permanently banned because of multiple policy violations.”

Feyenoord manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, has picked Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Van Bronckhorst insisted that he doesn’t doubt that the Spain World Cup winner will win the Ballon d’Or, adding that he has the potential.

“He is a player who, at his age, has already won a lot. People come to the stadium expressly for Lamine,” Van Bronckhorst said via Mundo Deportivo.

“He has the quality to win the Ballon d’Or. The question is when he will win it. He has the potential, I have no doubt.”

Yamal was among the 30 players nominated for the Ballon d’Or on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old is expected to challenge the likes of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe and Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi for the Ballon d’Or.
