EPL: If Man City loses to Arsenal, the title race is over – Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed that the Premier League title race will be over if they lose to Arsenal this weekend.

City welcome the Gunners in a top-of-the-table clash on Sunday.

The league leaders are six points ahead of Guardiola’s men, although City have a game in hand.

A win for Arsenal will extend the gap, while the former champions have the chance to go within three points.

“If we lose, it’s over. But with the other two results, and knowing that Arsenal didn’t win against Bournemouth, we still have games to play,” Guardiola said.

City were held to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the Emirates.

But they beat Arsenal 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final last month, as they began to build momentum ahead of the run-in.

EPL: Rio Ferdinand names only three managers who would reject Man Utd for Arsenal

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has named only three football managers who would reject Manchester United for Arsenal.

Ferdinand spoke while warning Arsenal fans calling for manager Mikel Arteta’s sacking to be careful what they wish for.

“I would be careful what you wish for if I were an Arsenal fan, if you think getting rid of Arteta is the best thing you guys could do,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“You have to remember where you guys were when he came. You guys are consistently qualifying for the Champions League, you weren’t before Arteta came. You are finishing second most of the time, fighting for the Premier League year in,

“You have got to get over the line, yes, I know, but you think the grass is greener over there with another manager? Who is the other manager?

“He [Luis Enrique] is not coming to Arsenal. He’s leaving the best team in the world to go to Arsenal – are you crazy?

“Every manager other than Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira or Cesc Fabregas would go to Man United over Arsenal.”
