‘One is Superman, the other Batman’ – Chicharito opens up on Messi, Ronaldo debate

Former Mexico international Javier Hernandez, popularly known as Chicharito, has shared his insights on the ongoing debate regarding Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest of all time.
He emphasized that the discussion centers more on relatability than direct comparison.
Messi and Ronaldo are universally acknowledged as the two greatest players in football history. Nevertheless, the contention over who surpasses the other has persisted for nearly twenty years.
Fans, analysts, players, and all those connected to the sport have expressed their opinions throughout this time.
In a recent interview, as reported by Marca, Javier Hernandez addressed this debate.
When his mother-in-law inquired about who he believes is superior, he responded, “What is it that you admire most?
“Messi is Superman, while Cristiano Ronaldo is Batman. Superman was born with powers; Batman was not. Batman had to cultivate himself through discipline, bravery, and courage until he became exceptional.”
Hernandez elaborated that Lionel Messi possesses an “extraordinary gift,” stating, “He epitomizes pure talent. Observing him play appears effortless, as if the laws of physics do not constrain him.
“He makes the impossible seem straightforward. Teams construct systems around him, which is logical because he is a talent unlike any other in history. Messi symbolizes the aspiration of being born with an extraordinary gift.”
Chicharito remarked that Ronaldo “transformed discipline into his most significant talent” and commended his dedication and drive over the years.

Join street-begging instead of dating for money – Emeka Ike advises ladies

Veteran Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, has described dating for financial benefits as “romantic scam”.
He claimed that some ladies go into relationships with the primary aim of raising funds, which according to him, equates to fraud.
Speaking in a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, the actor urged ladies who date for money to join street-begging instead of scamming unsuspecting men.
He said, “Love and marriage is not scam. But there are a few hungry people who are using relationship as meal tickets. That’s where it becomes a scam.
“Love is beautiful. If you find someone who genuinely likes you, it’s very sweet. But when you are liking him or her for an end they are not aware of, that’s a scam.
“A lot of girls are going into relationships because what they want to get from the man. They should just join street-begging instead of using relationship to raise money.
“Relationship is supposed to be sacred. Love is the pillar of every good relationship. Let’s stop messing it up in Nigeria. Let’s stop pretending that we are in love just to raise money. Relationship shouldn’t be a source of income.”

Nigerian men can’t offer more than money in relationship – Toke Makinwa

Nollywood actress and media personality, Toke Makinwa, has countered the claims that modern Nigerian women are materialistic and often date or marry for financial benefits.
She argued that a romantic relationship has always been transactional since ancient times.
Speaking in a recent episode of the MENtality podcast hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Makinwa claimed that the reason modern Nigerian women are accused of being hyper-materialistic was because Nigerian men can’t offer more than financial benefits in a relationship.
She said, “From time immemorial, a relationship between a man and a woman has always been transactional, right from the Garden of Eden, right from our parents’ days. And the degree at which it is happening now, I will blame the men. Sometimes, that [financial benefits] is all men have to offer.
“Nigerian men don’t have games aside from money. Once a Nigerian man makes money, he starts throwing it at the hottest girls. Sometimes, you meet a man and you want to know him but he is offering you money.
“Men have offered women strangest things and it made me realise that men feel cash is all they need to show you. Most girls who are materialistic today, men taught them how to make demands.”

‘Life easier for women than men’ – Veteran actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu

Veteran actor, Bob-Manuel Udokwu has shared his opinion on why Nigerian male actors struggle more financially than their female counterparts.
According to him, actors struggle more financially than actresses because they have more responsibilities than their female counterparts.
He claimed that life is “generally easier” for women than men.
Speaking in a recent interview with Udala, Udokwu said he was angered by Nigerians who were asking what late actor John Okafor did with his earnings from the movie industry when he was soliciting for funds for hospital bills.
He explained that actors’ earnings from movies can’t give them financial freedom because of daunting responsibilities.
He said, “Life is generally easier for women than it is for men. It’s not that Nollywood doesn’t pay, but actors have a lot of bills to settle.
“It pained me when John Okafor fell ill before he eventually passed away. While we were trying to raise funds for his treatment, some people on social media kept asking, ‘Where is all the money he made from acting?’
“They didn’t understand the realities of the profession. I didn’t even know he had married more than one wife then.”
