LaLiga: Real Madrid release statement on Valverde, Tchouameni training ground clash

Real Madrid on Thursday night released a statement over the training ground spat between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.
Valverde had to be taken to hospital after a “very serious” confrontation with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.
This forced head coach Alvaro Arbeloa to summon an emergency meeting to address a dressing room that is spiralling out of control.
The LaLiga giants have now confirmed that both midfielders will face disciplinary proceedings.
It read: “Real Madrid announce that, following the events that took place this morning, the club has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players, Fede Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
“The club will announce the outcome of both cases in due course, once the corresponding internal procedures have been completed.”

Shooting Stars technical adviser, Nurudeen Aweroro, has promised to improve on his team’s performance in away games.

The Oluyole Warriors have recorded defeats in their last seven matches on the road.

Shooting Stars will be up against defending champions Remo Stars in the next game in Ikenne.

Aweroro is adamant that they can end their barren run on the road in the game.

“On the issues of conceding goals and away form, we’ll keep doing more and more to change the narrative, and I believe our worries shall be over.” Aweroro was quoted by OyoSportsNews.

Shooting Stars sit in fifth position on the league table with 50 points.

EPL: Iwobi’s stunning strike shortlisted for GOTM award

Alex Iwobi’s stunning strike in Fulham’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Craven Cottage has been shortlisted for the Premier League March Goal of the Month award, DAILY POST reports.

Iwobi doubled Fulham’s lead in the 34th minute with a long-range, side-footed finish from outside the box.

The goal was the Nigeria international’s fourth of the season for Marco Silva’s side.

The versatile midfielder has also registered three assists in 23 league appearances.

Iwobi has also been nominated for the Player of the Month award.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliott Anderson, William Osula, Bernardo Silva, Iliman Ndiaye, and John McGinn are the other players nominated for the Goal of the Month award.

Fans can vote for the winner, with the final decision combining public votes and expert panel input.

Osimhen names his favourite between Olise vs Yamal, Messi vs Ronaldo

Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has weighed in on the debate as to who the better winger is between Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, and also the better player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel.

Both Yamal and Olise have been impressive for their respective clubs so far this season.

As for Messi and Ronaldo, they are arguably considered among the greatest footballers in history.

However, in a recent quick-fire session with Berneese, Osimhen was asked to name his favourite between Yamal and Olise, and also Messi and Ronaldo.

The former Napoli attacker said, “That’s a tough one. Permit me to pick both,” Osimhen said of Yamal vs Olise.

“These guys are unique in their own craft. I think they are almost similar because they use the same foot.

“The way they read the game is different, so picking one is doing a huge disservice to the other. I will go for both.”

On Messi vs Ronaldo, Osimhen added, “It’s the same thing with Messi and Ronaldo. I go for both. I have never chosen any of them individually.

“Those two guys have been up there for almost 20 years.”
