President Bola Tinubu has removed Saidu Mohammed as the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and nominated Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as his replacement, subject to Senate confirmation.

Sources familiar with the situation described the development as “deeply damaging,” alleging that both factions are being directly influenced and funded by the sons of the former vice president.
