Rangers technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu has boasted about the quality of his team, DAILY POST reports.

Ilechukwu believes his team remains the best in every department in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The Flying Antelopes moved to the top of the NPFL table after a 2-0 win over Nasarawa United in a matchday 28 fixture on Sunday.

Ilechukwu said the victory is a reward for hard work.

“We played against a very good team, we prepared very well and we defended well to get the win over them,”

“The records are there to be seen because converting chances we are one of the best, defending also we one of the best in that area.

“We will continue to work on the mentality of the players in subsequent matches.”

NPFL: Rangers best in the league – Ilechukwu boasts

Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has listed 25 players for the team’s double-header friendlies against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

Star forward, Asisat Oshoala, is the only noticeable absentee from the list.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, reliable goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, Ashleigh Plumptre, Michelle Alozie and Esther Okoronkwo are some of the regulars named in the squad by Madugu.

Veteran defender Osinachi Ohale, Halimat Ayinde, and Deborah Abiodun also made the squad.

The Super Falcons will take on Cameroon in the first friendly next week Saturday.

The second friendly will hold on Tuesday, 3 March.

Both matches will be played in Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde.

Nigeria will face debutants Malawi, Zambia and Egypt in Group C at the WAFCON 2026 finals.

WAFCON 2026: Madugu drops Oshoala, lists 25 players for Cameroon friendlies

Super Eagles attacker, Ademola Lookman, has sent a message to Nigerian fans following their 3-2 win over Tunisia on Saturday night.

Lookman provided two assists and netted one to earn himself the Man of the Match in the 3-2 win over the Carthage Eagles.

Nigeria has made it to the round of sixteen with the win and will play Uganda in a game that is no longer of much importance to the team.

Lookman has been outstanding so far in the competition, having won the game against Tanzania for Eric Chelle’s side.

Speaking after the game against Tunisia, Lookman said, “We’re in the right direction. I think today we’re outstanding from the first half into the second half, and then, you know, they had a spell in which they scored two goals.

“But apart from that, we were very good today.”

Asked if he had any particular message to the  Nigerian fans, he added, “Keep supporting us.

“We really need you. So keep on being behind us. Keep on driving us and yeah, keep supporting us. Thank you.”
