Former French international, Christophe Dugarry, has come to the defense of Kylian Mbappe, insisting that the forward is not the cause of Real Madrid’s current challenges.

Instead, he pointed the finger at several players within the squad, labeling Edouardo Camavinga, Arda Güler, Federico Valverde, Marco Asensio, and Aurelien Tchouaméni as overrated and insufficient for the team’s requirements.

In his remarks on Jérôme Rothen’s podcast, Dugarry stated, “It’s surprising to hear that all of Real Madrid’s problems are solely on Kylian Mbappe.

“If he’s no longer wanted, perhaps the Spanish club should consider selling him.”

He continued, “There are many players at Real Madrid who [don’t possess the caliber required] to be Madrid players. They’re overrated, I am sorry.

“They’ve been there a long time, Camavinga, Guler, Valverde, Tchouaméni and Asensio who came out of nowhere and became a starter.”

Kun Khalifat FC have promoted one of their most promising U-19 players Aniete John to the senior team, DAILY POST reports.

Aniete has also signed his first professional contract with the Owerri-based club.

The midfielder has been impressive for Kun Khalifat’s youth team this season.

Anietie is expected to fight for a place in the first team.

Brentford manager, Keith Andrews, has complimented young forward Kaye Furo after his impressive first appearance in the team’s 1-0 win against Macclesfield F.C. on Monday night.

Furo, whose father was a former Super Eagles star, Iyenemi Furo, played a vital role in the Bees victory.

With 20 minutes remaining in the game, Furo pressed hard on Sam Heathcote as he tried to clear Aaron Hickey’s accurate cross, making the defender turn the ball into his own goal.

After the game, Andrews said he was happy with how the young player adjusted and handled the situation. The Irish manager said that the player has adjusted well to the club, both the team and the training, as reported by Brentford’s official website. “I really like what he is about. Tough game to come into obviously. I thought he did a really good job.”

Furo played for 72 minutes before being substituted by Burkina Faso international Dango Ouattara as Brentford tried to keep their small lead.

The talented forward moved to Brentford from Club Brugge KV after rising through the Belgian club’s youth system and getting chances to play for the senior team.

Before moving to the Gtech Community Stadium, Furo played five matches in the league for Club Brugge and scored one goal. He also played in the UEFA Champions League, starting his campaign with a 3-0 loss against Arsenal F.C.
