Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Joash Amupitan, says the 2023 IREV glitch has been eliminated.
Prof Amupitan expressed this confidence on Sunday during Citizens Town Hall Meeting on Electoral Act 2026 held in Abuja, the nation’s capital city.
According to him, such a glitch will not surface in Nigeria again.
“The glitch in INEC IREV in 2013 has been eliminated, by God’s grace, it will not surface in Nigeria again,” he said.
Recall that the Senate approved the electronic transmission of election results, with manual collation retained as a backup.
