
Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested three suspects and recovered guns, ammunition and hard drugs in two separate operations.
The arrests were announced in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, SP Daniel Ndukwe.
According to him, “On 19th January 2026, the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad arrested Mba Emmanuel (aka “Indomie”, 31) and Onukwube Nnam (aka “Nwa Amodu”, 35”) in Awkunanaw, Enugu South.”
Ndukwe said the men confirmed that they were members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity (a secret cult), with Mbah allegedly identified as the head and executioner of the unlawful group in Enugu South local government area.
He added that the police seized a pump action gun, a locally made Beretta type pistol, 31 cartridges, a large wrap of cannabis, a laptop and a motorcycle.
In another raid on 31st January 2026 in the Agbani area, police arrested eight suspects.
Ezeani Monday, 32, was found with dried cannabis and 39 pellets of suspected crystal meth, while the others were released after initial checks.
Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, while reacting to the arrests, assured of police’s commitment to continuous protection of lives and property, warning that anyone involved in armed robbery, cultism or drug crimes must turn a new leaf or face the full wrought of the law.
