Synergy, key to industrial harmony, academic excellence

The Vice Chancellor of the Ekiti State University, EKSU, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, has described synergy among critical stakeholders as essential for sustaining industrial harmony and academic excellence in the University system.
Professor Ayodele made this known while delivering the keynote address at a retreat organized by the University Management and Staff Unions Executives held at Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort.
The retreat was organized to strengthen institutional harmony, enhance industrial relations and promote sustainable academic and administrative excellence.
According to the Vice Chancellor, EKSU’s academic reputation and sustainable future can only be achieved through collaboration, dialogue and mutual understanding.
He urged stakeholders to embrace proactive engagement, inclusive planning, and integrity in upholding agreements, stressing that investment in staff welfare and professional development would further strengthen internal harmony and reinforce EKSU’s status as the leading state university in Nigeria.
The 2-day retreat featured keynote and technical sessions, interactive discussions and round-table engagements which focused on conflict management, proactive communication and shared ownership of institutional goals.
The Resource persons at the event which included Dr Abdussubur Salaam, Professor Anthonia Adenike Adeniji and Dr Dele Ashiru, who are experts in institutional leadership and industrial relations, emphasized at different presentations that early conflict resolution, transparent communication and collective responsibility are strategies for preventing industrial disputes.
During the interactive and roundtable sessions, participants at the retreat, resolved to sustain continuous dialogue, promote trust and transparency, adopt effective grievance-handling mechanisms and work collaboratively towards maintaining a peaceful and productive work environment in the university.
