“Your plight touches my heart” – Bawumia to Widows in Bunkpurugu

Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on widows in Bunkpurugu, North East Region, to support his bid for the highest office in the land, promising to continue safeguarding their needs and welfare.

As the Patron of the Lepers Aid Committee, Dr Bawumia, has a long history of supporting vulnerable groups, including cured lepers, widows, street children, and head porters (kayayei) with food and financial aid.

During a gathering with widows in Bunkpurugu, the NPP Flagbearer, pledged to implement policies and initiatives aimed at promoting the well-being of vulnerable groups across the country.

Hundreds of widows, along with NPP supporters and sympathizers, attended the event, enjoying various local dishes.

In his address, Dr Bawumia, highlighted the importance of supporting the vulnerable and assured attendees that, if elected President, he would focus on improving their lives through targeted policies and actions.

The NPP flagbearer, has embarked on the second phase of his nationwide campaign tour in the North East Region, expressing his readiness to promote his vision for national progress and development.

 His interaction with the widows underscored his commitment to grassroots engagement and inclusiveness.

The Vice President, emphasized his intention to connect directly with voters and understand their concerns, saying:

“I am very touched and grateful to be with you this evening as the presidential candidate of the NPP for the 2024 presidential elections.

 Today marks the beginning of my campaign in every constituency, and I decided to start at home, which is why I am with you today. I am your son and your husband, and therefore, I am asking for your support so that I can help you when I become the President of the Republic.”
