The Yobe State House of Assembly has received a letter from the executive arm of the government requesting permission for Governor Mai Mala Buni to present the 2026 budget proposal.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, read the letter during a plenary session held at the chambers of the House on Tuesday.
According to the letter, Governor Mai Mala Buni is scheduled to present the 2026 budget proposal on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2 pm at the chamber of the State House of Assembly.
The Speaker called on members of the House to extend their full support and cooperation to the governor to ensure the successful presentation of the budget.
In another development, the House has passed bills seeking to amend the composition of the governing councils of the College of Administration, Science and Technology, Potiskum; the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Gujba; the College of Education, Gashua; and the Mai Idris Aloma Polytechnic, Geidam.
The bills, which were presented by the executive arm of government, were passed into law following the amendment of certain sections of the original draft legislation.
