Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike as his friend who will always assist him if he needs anything.

Fayose made the remark while distancing himself from government contracts in Ekiti State.

Speaking during the commissioning of Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road to mark Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s third year in office, Fayose denied handling a fly over bridge in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

He said: “I’m not a contractor and I don’t get government contracts, I’m too old to be a contractor.

“My friend Wike, if I want anything won’t he give me? He is my friend. Ekiti has nothing anybody would take from here.”

The former governor also pledged his support for Oyebanji’s second term bid.

He said: “For me and all that I represent, we are going to stand by you.

“I used my tenure as governor to fight war. I fought in the morning, afternoon, and night.”
