Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies to safeguard lives and property across the state.

The pledge was made during a courtesy visit by Mrs. Elizabeth Kayode Egbetokun, wife of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and President of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), who led the association’s executive members to the Governor’s office.

In a statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, Director-General of Media and Publicity at Kano Government House, Governor Yusuf emphasized his government’s unwavering support for the police, particularly through the provision of logistics and operational vehicles.

“The security of lives and property is critical to the well-being and progress of our people,” the Governor stated. “We remain steadfast in supporting the police and other security agencies to ensure a secure and peaceful Kano State.”

Governor Yusuf commended Mrs. Egbetokun for her dedication to improving the welfare of police officers and their families, praising her initiatives as aligned with the national efforts led by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu to empower women across the country.

As a demonstration of his administration’s support, the Governor approved land allocation and financial aid for the construction of a POWA Secretariat in Kano.

Earlier, Mrs. Egbetokun briefed the Governor on POWA’s ongoing activities in Kano, including an empowerment program and the commissioning of a health center in Panshekara.

She applauded the Kano State Government’s efforts in empowering women and called for stronger collaboration to enhance the welfare and economic stability of POWA members, ensuring a secure and prosperous future for their families.
