A new commander, Major General Warrah Idris, has taken over the leadership of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) in Zamfara State.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the operation, Captain David Adewusi, his appointment followed his redeployment from the Defence Department of Transformation and Innovation.

The change of command ceremony was held on Monday, at the Theatre Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara State.

The outgoing Acting Theatre Commander, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, thanked officers, soldiers, and civilian staff for their support during his tenure. 

He said the achievements recorded were made possible through teamwork and professionalism. Abdullahi urged them to give the same cooperation to his successor as he moves to his new role at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters as Chief of Policy and Plans.

According to the statement, the ceremony featured the signing of handover notes as well as the symbolic presentation of the command flag.
