President John Dramani Mahama has paid a visit to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra to monitor the condition of victims receiving treatment following the tragic stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium on Wednesday, November 12.
During his visit to the hospital’s emergency ward, President Mahama received firsthand briefings from medical officials on the status of the injured and the ongoing response efforts.
Reports confirm that at least six people have lost their lives in the incident, while 12 others remain in critical condition, including five patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The President was accompanied by several government officials, notably Finance Minister Dr. Ato Forson, as he engaged with medical personnel and family members of the victims.
Details surrounding the cause of the stampede are still emerging, with authorities continuing investigations and response operations to prevent further casualties.
