Former Beşiktaş midfielder, Sinan Engin has mocked Benfica manager Jose Mourinho after Galatasaray defeated Juventus 5-2 in the Champions League Round of 16 playoff first leg tie on Tuesday.
Engin insisted that Mourinho may have broken his television after watching Galatasaray defeat Juventus in Turkey.
Mourinho, who coached Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig rivals Fenerbahce, had criticized the Turkish football domestic league in the past.
The Portuguese branded refereeing in the Turkish Super Lig a “scandal” and claimed the league is “toxic”.
Speaking on the Asist Analiz YouTube channel, Engin said: “Galatasaray has shown itself to the whole world.
“It has also shown Mourinho that there is football in Türkiye. Mourinho may have broken his television because he saw Turkish football like this.”

Victor Osimhen says the Super Eagles are determined to rule the continent once again following their impressive start at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports.

The Super Eagles last won the AFCON title 13 years ago in South Africa.

They came close to claiming the title last time out, going down 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final.

The West Africans have left no one in doubt of their readiness to go all the way in Morocco with their superb displays in the games against Tunisia and Uganda.

Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Akor Adams and Raphael Onyedika have all starred so far in the competition.

The Galatasaray striker declared the team’s readiness to conquer all opposition this time around.

“It will mean a lot, not just to me, to the whole team, but to Nigeria. It has been a long time since this trophy came to Nigeria.Every training, we are passing a clear message that we came here to get the trophy,” Osimhen told ESPN.

Nigeria will battle the Mambas of Mozambique in the Round of 16 in Fès next week.

Cameroon produced an outstanding performance in the first-leg fixtures in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers on Sunday.

They thrashed Botswana 5–0 to move firmly into control of their tie ahead of the return leg in the coming days.

Similarly, Nigeria and Kenya also claimed slim advantages with 1–0 victories over Senegal and Tanzania, respectively.

Also, Uganda drew Zambia, while Guinea-Bissau and Malawi also drew to leave those ties finely balanced ahead of the return legs.

DAILY POST reports that the second legs of the qualifiers are scheduled to begin from 13 February, with places at the World Cup finals still very much up for grabs.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has saluted Victor Osimhen for his stellar display against his former club, DAILY POST reports.

Osimhen inspired Galatasaray to a 5-2 victory over the Old Lady in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff tie on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old registered two assists in the game.

The Nigeria international also put pressure on the Juventus defence for the majority of the game.

Del Piero was full of praises for Osimhen after the game.

“The very existence of players like Victor Osimhen is frightening… He’s a cold-blooded, high-quality player. He never gives up,” Del Piero said, per Futboo.
