A political interest group, Team New Nigeria (TNN) said it has set in motion arrangements to metamorphose into a political party, including opening its doors to new members as well as organising a befitting national convention.
In a statement signed by the Secretary, National Communication Bureau of TNN, Prof. Morgan Sarki Gambo, the group said it is also considering going into coalition with one of the registered political parties if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) delays the registration of TNN as political party.
“As a result, TNN leaders will be engaging in broad coalition talks with already registered political parties.
“We have set up a National Political Management Committee (PMC) to develop a comprehensive communication and engagement strategy for forming alliances and establishing a genuinely democratic government in Nigeria,” the statement said.
TNN describes itself as a political and social force born out of an extensive national consultation process aimed at charting a new course for Nigeria.
Its foundation, it said, is built on the collective will of Nigerians who continue to face deep socioeconomic disparities decades after the 1999 democratic transition.
The statement said TNN is committed to forming a government rooted in federalism, devolution of powers, and the pursuit of a truly functional federation.
The group, which claimed to have been in existence since two years, (December 15, 2023) said its online and physical membership registration has reached a total of 43,607,700 registered members across the country.
According to a statement made available to newsmen yesterday, the BoT resolved that there is a need to review the association’s membership base and immediately resume registration across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
TNN also said it would commence an aggressive nationwide membership registration on December 6, 2025.
It said the decision to commence mobilisation for membership was reached during the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) held last Saturday.
“The BoT also approved the establishment of a National Conference Organising Committee to oversee the organisation of a befitting national convention for the emerging political movement.
“Consequently, the BoT approved that the membership registration exercise will begin simultaneously in all 774 local government areas on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The statement read: “The registration shall start from the ward level in each of the eight thousand, eight hundred and nine (8,809) council wards in Nigeria. All registration materials will be made available to ward officials by Thursday, December 4, 2025.”
“TNN leaders at the state, senatorial district, local government, and ward levels have been directed to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible process. The party emphasised that there shall be no registration by proxy, adding that the registration form is free of charge and not for sale. The exercise will be officially declared open in Abuja on December 4, 2025.”
The group said that its online and physical membership registration first commenced on December 15, 2023 and has registered a total of 43,607,700 members, this making TNN “the greatest crowd-pulling platform in Nigeria today.”
