Veteran rock vocalist, and captivating performer, Tina Turner, has passed away at the age of 83.

The information was confirmed by her spokesperson, who said, “Today, we mourn the peaceful passing of Tina Turner, the legendary ‘Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,’ at the age of 83, in her residence in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. She had been battling a prolonged illness.”

Born in the United States, Tina Turner emerged as one of the greatest female rock singers, renowned for her electrifying stage presence and a remarkable catalogue of hits, including “The Best,” “Proud Mary,” “Private Dancer,” and “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”

During the 1960s, she rose to fame alongside her former husband, Ike Turner, and their repertoire included the timeless song “River Deep, Mountain High.”

After separating from Ike and embarking on a successful solo career, Tina Turner became known for her powerful vocals, energetic stage presence, and hits such as “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “Proud Mary,” and “Simply the Best.”

Her extraordinary life story was also immortalized in a highly acclaimed West End show that continues to captivate audiences.

Although Turner’s solo career experienced a decline in the 1970s, her artistic journey experienced a resurrection when she signed with Capitol Records in the 1980s.

Her rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” became a chart-topping sensation, paving the way for the release of the immensely successful album “Private Dancer” in 1984, which sold over 10 million copies.

Tina Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, was a highly influential American singer, songwriter, and actress.

May her soul rest in peace.
