President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled  to declare The Big Sports Dialogue 1.0open today in Lagos.

According to the organisers of the sports summit, The Big Sports Dialogue 1.0is designed to address pressing issues plaguing Nigerian sports and to reshape the country’s sports ecosystem. 

It also aims to bring together key stakeholders and policy-makers to chart a path for a more vibrant and sustainable sporting sector.

Leading voices at the event include: Malam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC); and the NSC’s Director-General, Hon. Bukola Olopade.

Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, Director-General of the National Institute for Sports; Mike Itemuagbor, a renowned sports marketing expert; Igoche Mark, prominent basketball promoter;  Arabirin Aderonke Atoyebi, seasoned journalist; 

Rufai Oseni, Arise News morning show host and Amaju Pinnick, former president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are amongst leading speakers at the event scheduled to hold in Lagos.

Additional speakers include: Barr. Chris Green, Commissioner for Sports, Rivers State;  Aisha Falode, ace sportscaster and NFF board member; Steve Oshio, Abubakar Lawal, Bashire Are, and Ruben Abati, a well respected journalist.

Osaze Ebueku, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, described the event as a “call to action for all Nigerians to come together and shape the future of sports in the country.”

Organisers further stressed that the dialogue will feature high-level discussions, policy recommendations, and partnerships aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s sports infrastructure, governance, funding, talent development, and international competitiveness.
