Kebbi State Police Command has arrested four suspected collaborators of the Lakurawa terror group and recovered arms, ammunition and illicit drugs during intelligence-led operations across border communities and Bagudo Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, said operatives from the Kangiwa Divisional Police Headquarters arrested two suspects, Hamza Aliyu and Aliyu Ahmadu, on Friday, February 7, 2026, around 3:00 p.m. along a border axis.
He said the suspects were allegedly involved in supplying logistics to Lakurawa operatives. Items recovered included 31 parcels of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
According to Usman, preliminary investigations showed the suspects confessed to aiding the group’s activities along the border areas.
In a separate operation, officers from the command’s Special Tactical Team, working with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, arrested two other suspects, Sani Bature, also known as “Nage,” and Rabiu Bature, in Bagudo LGA.
Police said the operation led to the recovery of an AK-49 rifle, 611 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and a locally fabricated, charm-infused bulletproof vest.
All exhibits are in police custody, while investigations continue to determine the scope of the network.
The suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.
