Hot SourcePolice in Adamawa State have arrested two suspects in connection with the death of a yet-to-be-identified young woman whose body was discovered behind the fence of the Adamawa State University, Mubi.
The victim’s body, which bore multiple stab wounds, was found by residents on Tuesday. They immediately alerted security operatives, who later evacuated the corpse to the Federal Medical Centre, Mubi, for autopsy.
Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the incident on X (formerly Twitter), said the Divisional Police Officer of Mubi North led detectives to the scene after receiving a distress call around noon on October 21.
According to Makama, the officers took photographs and recovered the remains of the victim before depositing them in the hospital mortuary.
Preliminary investigations, he said, led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Private Tanko Salihu and Yahaya Idi Gadzama.
The spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, Yahaya Suleiman, said he had yet to receive a full briefing on the case but assured that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear, but police sources said efforts are ongoing to identify the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
