Pay less, stay secure: SHC gives clients 15% discount to clear outstanding debts

The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has launched a National Revenue Mobilization Campaign aimed at recovering outstanding payments from clients and strengthening its financial base to sustain the delivery of affordable housing across Ghana.

Announcing the initiative at the SHC Head Office in Accra on Monday, November 3, 2025, the Managing Director, Mr. John S. Bawah, said the campaign forms part of efforts to remind clients of their financial responsibilities, which are essential to safeguarding tenancy security and ensuring the company’s continued growth.

Mr. Bawah explained that SHC, which has been at the forefront of Ghana’s housing development for nearly seven decades, has been facing operational challenges due to unpaid client obligations running into hundreds of millions of Ghana cedis.

These arrears include ground rents, land regularization fees, lease renewals, consents and service charges.

As part of measures to encourage clients to clear their debts, SHC is offering a 15% discount on all outstanding payments settled in full between November 3 and December 31, 2025.

The discount applies specifically to ground rents, land regularization fees, lease renewals, consents  and service charges, but excludes house sales.

“This campaign is not only about debt recovery but about partnership,” Mr. Bawah emphasized

“We are providing an opportunity for our clients to regularize their accounts under favorable terms, while helping SHC continue to deliver affordable and quality housing to Ghanaians”, he added .

He added that SHC will soon open a 24-hour Premium and Express Service Centre to enhance customer convenience, offering around-the-clock support for payments, documentation and client inquiries.

This initiative, he noted, aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of building a “Ghana that works round-the-clock.”

Mr. Bawah cautioned that after the campaign’s deadline, SHC will strictly enforce legal sanctions, penalties and interest charges on all defaulters who fail to comply.

He therefore appealed to clients nationwide from Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, Sunyani and other regional centers to take advantage of the limited-time discount and settle their arrears promptly.
