Osun Police Arrest Couple After Husband Allegedly Stabs Bishop To Death

Yuletide: Police Arrest Robbers, Recover Arms In Enugu

The Osun State Police Command has apprehended a couple following the alleged stabbing of Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, leader of Rapture Empowerment International in Osogbo, by the husband.

According to BBC News Pidgin, Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed that the tragic incident occurred on Thursday at the residence of the suspect’s wife.

Reports indicate that the couple had been living apart due to ongoing marital disputes, and the deceased clergyman had reportedly been mediating their conflicts prior to the separation.

Opalola stated, “We were informed that the pastor was at the woman’s house today (Thursday) when the husband arrived. We were also told that the husband stabbed the pastor.

“The husband stabbed him several times, and he died. It is believed the husband acted on suspicion that the pastor was having an affair with his wife.”

Sources allege that the husband believed the bishop was involved in an affair with his wife, as the clergyman was reportedly found in the woman’s bedroom when the altercation took place.

The police have launched an investigation into the case and assured the public that justice will be served. The couple remains in custody as authorities work to uncover the full details surrounding the incident.
